Recall 96v006000/engine: while traveling at highway speed of 40 mph engine check light came on. Smoke was coming from under the hood, and oil was spilling on top of engine. Vehicle towed to an independent repairr shop. Dealer/manufacturer notified. Manufacturer informed consumer that vehicle was not covered under recall due to VIN.

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2000

Engine shuts off, Chrysler mechancics can't find problem also shakes at 40mph (violently) and check engine light flashes.
