1 Battery Dead problem of the 2011 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 01/19/2018

After driving at highway speeds for 2 hours, when returning home and shutting off the engine, I heard whirling noises coming from my fuel tank. Upon moving the vehicle, 30 minutes later, the van experienced a rough start. The following morning, the battery was dead. After jumping off the vehicle, it ran smoothly but I am concerned this will happen again.

2 Battery Dead problem of the 2011 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 10/15/2015

We started having issues starting our car in October. Autozone said nothing was wrong. A couple weeks later the battery was dead. We replaced it and $179 later the problem is worse. The key has been stuck in the ignition twice. The mechanical doors stop working halfway through opening or closing every now and then. Googling issues brings up nothing but tipm issues which Chrysler has known about for how long? yet they continue to refuse to issue a recall for their mistake leaving the outrageous amount on us to pay to fix. Are we really waiting for people to start dying because of this faulty issue? the vehicle shuts down in the middle of the road! if you can get it started.

3 Battery Dead problem of the 2005 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 08/04/2007

I drove 2 hours on the highway and parked the car when I arrived at my destination. After 10 minutes I went to leave and I put the car in drive; it started cranking and started to roll backwards. Parts of my car started falling out of the transmission. My car only had 32,000 miles on it. The axel got caught in the transmission and broke all the pieces in the transmission. It took 3 weeks for my car to be repaid and I was not able to get a loaner car from Dodge even though I complained. I could have been killed if this had happened an hour earlier on the highway. The second incident occurred in October. I was driving on my way home with my sister and my 6 year old daughter in the car. It was raining and all of a sudden my electrical system went haywire. My windshield wipers stopped working and my windows wouldn't open. A few minutes later when I arrived home, I noticed that my car was smoking. About 15 minutes later, I went out to check on my car and found that it was running without the key in the ignition. I put the key in and the car shut down. The next morning, I went to call the dealership and when I went to look at my car, it was running once again. By the time the tow truck arrived, my battery was dead. Once again we could have been killed in an accident. These are two major safety issues. I am afraid to drive my car now. I think that I should receive a new car that doesn't have all of these major safety issues.

Vehicle experiences electrical problems. When the vehicle is parked for more than 8 hours the battery dies. Also, some of the lights will come on, and some won't. Owner contacted the dealer, and was told that it will cost $90. 00 just to have the vehicle looked at. Consumer stated that the electrical problems started with the radio, then escalated with the head lights turning on then off while driving. Dealership refuses to inspect van under the recall relating to this problem.

6 Battery Dead problem of the 1997 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 10/17/1999

The windshield wipers would automatically come on while traveling on the road. They would come on for two to four wipes and then stop. This intermittent problem was rare at first, then started to happen more frequently. We finally took it in to the dealership for repair. They replaced the windshield wiper switch at no cost to us. (only because we were under the 36mo. /36,000mi. Waranty. ) the next problem was the battery went dead. We took it in for repair, and the dealership replaced the battery at no cost to us. (only because it was under the 36mo. /36,000mi. Waranty) . The other problem was that the inside rear view mirror became unglued from the front windshield. I went to a auto repair store and purchased a rear view mirror glue kit. I glued the rear view mirror on myself. ( I don't have confidence in the dealerships glue) thank you . . . . . . . .
