Sliding doors will open automatically as I'm driving. Heater stays stuck on on. While driving the van will shut off. Its a safety issue when I have 4 small children in the van with me.

Ok. I've only had this vehicle for 2 1/2 year and I've found after a year, it was hard to keep gas in the vehicle even though I filled it up at times, it would still go out , the doors have gotten jammed, the windows stuck because of heat, last year the seat belts in the back stopped working and now I have a transmission problem and the vehicle will only go backwards. I never knew those things could happen to this vehicle. Also the alarm no longer works after 2 years. I have to take the key out just to open the vehicle. When I got the vehicle , there was a cd stuck in it and radio didn't work and couldn't be fixed.

During cold weather vehicle will shut off while driving, usually happens within first 5-15 minutes at low speed with cold or cool engine. It happens while driving straight or turning. There is no warning, no shudder, and no engine error light. Immediate loss of power steering and power breaks. Many reports online from other owners. No issues in warmer weather. Local dealer could not replicate issue after holding vehicle for 3 consecutive days.

3 months ago, one of the sliding doors stopped unlocking, and will not open. Now my passenger side front door is doing the same thing. My autistic son got stuck in the van today because of this. The doors just will not unlock.

Vechile stalls while driving with no waring. No instrument lights or hesitation. This now has happen to me 3 time. Speed ranging from 25-55 mph. Was able to get the van into neturel and restarted while the van was coasting without power. It was a good thing I didnt have anyone following too closely. This is a very dangerous problem. Something needs done about this before someone has a very serious accident.

The electronic throttle control light illuminated. The consumer advised the breakdown was caused by a faulty battery. The consumer does not believe the battery was the cause of the failure.

Oct 19, 2017 I still hadn't been contacted from the dealership in regards to the oct 18th complaint number 11034442 oct 19th 2017 I was backing up in my long driveway, and I was accelerating in reverse the engine died. The dealership paid for a rental from Friday to Monday. Monday at 11:50 the dealership called to say to return the rental and pick up my van. When I asked if they were able to fix my van I was told, �no. We were not able to duplicate the problem. But we did discover that your transmission fluid was a little low, and that could be why the engine shut off. � I reply, �so you are telling me that the engine shut off� �in motion� because the transmission fluid was low, and no lights showed up on my dash?� what???.

We bought a 2016 Dodge Caravan and had a "remote" start installed through the dealership. The van would shut off when the remote start was used, sometimes. When it shut off in neutral, before I could even make it into the van, the electrical acted like it was disconnected from the battery, (the clock would be flashing, radio stations un-programmed, airbag light on. ) the dealership had our van for 2 weeks (no rental), and they never could duplicate or fix the problem. We picked up our van and did not receive paperwork. @three months later, the van died again. But this time while in drive-at a complete stop, while at a drive thru bank atm. When it shut off, the electrical acted like it was disconnected from the battery, (the clock would be flashing, radio stations un-programmed, airbag light on-same as before) I took the van to the dealership. They estimated it would take 3 days to repair and gave me a rental. In less than one day they did a computer "update. " on my way home from picking up the "repaired" van, it shut off again, this time in drive-at a complete stop, in a fast food drive thru. I took it back on the same day, and was given another rental. This was in October. (paperwork states: oct 11 and oct 13. ) Friday oct 13 I received a call from the dealership to bring back the rental. When I asked if my van was fixed I was told, �no, but the dealership isn't going to pay for the car rental anymore. � the dealership opened a star case from corporate and were told to close the case, even though nothing was fixed. I returned the rental and picked up my van. Oct 18, my van shut off again, while at a complete stop in reverse. I am waiting to hear back from the dealership, to see if they can fix this problem-again.

2005 Dodge Caravan Mini van. Consumer writes in regards to multiple issues with vehicle.

The fuel pump relay switch won't shut off. It run doen battery and kilks the whole van.

The vehicle on more than one occasion has stalled while driving. It has happened approximately 4 times, 3 when turning right, it just stalls, the power steering goes out and I have been stuck in the middle of the road. Once I put it into park and restart it, it goes just fine. I have taken it to the dealership three times and they have failed to find or fix the problem. This is so dangerous as it only happens when in motion and driving.

The key is stuck in the ignition nothing works and it is staying "on" when key is in ignition killing the battery even though nothing is now working. There was a recall on this for 2010 Dodge van but my VIN number didn't show up. I find it very strange when doing research that this is the same exact problem as the ones on recall. My van was parked in my driveway ran perfect one evening the next morning nothing and key got stuck.

The elterice proublems with the drivers controll switch too open an close the windows , has it been know too catch on fire an make all the lights on the dash board go on an off now an then . Lucky we just'd started up the van too warn up an all then sudden we notice the drivers contorll switch was on fire .

All of sudden the the engine fails to run after I hit the switch to the cranking position. After multiple attempts the engine will run. This happens a multitude of times. I'm afraid the engine will stop all together and I can get stranded in the middle of nowhere. I've had the cam sensor changed, but the problem keeps going. Need help ASAP. I use my van to commute back and forth to my job. Help, please!.

The passenger doors no longer open with the automatic system. The passenger windows in the back do not work any longer . The door locks do not lock by the remote or by the door button. I have to manually push them down. And occasionally the all the lights just light up and begin flashing and dinging while driving and just sitting in park. The electrical system is bad!!!. I have had to replace one fuse in the drivers motorized seat. This has been on ongoing problem since spring of 2017.

The dash board lights and the wiper blades flick on and off while driving.

All of my problems started about 30-45 days ago. I was drivin along at 65 mph and lights started lighting up on my das and then started flickering. Not long after that the dash would light up and the all of a sudden die and have no power at all. Everything stopped working, radio, clock, sppedometer, etc. Since then the van has been back to the dealership. The first diagnosis was a brake swith relay and they said that should fix it. Well the same problems occured a few more times with no common denominator as to why it was not running. I took it back to the Chrysler dealer and they unplugged the tipm (total integrated power module). They said that cleared all codes and a reset fixes the problem some times. I picked it up the next and everything was for my trip to st. Louis and back. I got in the van later that evening and while driving down the driveway the engine shut off and the van lost all power. I almost too out my fence when this happened. I put it in park and the key wouldn't come out. After a little while the key came out anbd the van finally started. I called the tow truck and had it hauled directly to the dealer. After a few days the determined it was he tipm and the bill was app. $1000. 00. I have a case opened with Chrysler (case #: 31057897) with theresa. After googling the tipm I have discovered that this is a common problem with Caravans, town & country's, Dodge rams, durangos and some Jeep models. This is a very dangerous problem and needs to rectified by chrsler. All of these incidents have occured in various location (pakking lots, driveway, rural highways with no shoulder, stop lights and stop signs. ).

3 yrs ago, fire in engine compartment while I was driving. Could not open doors windows or engine hood. I did have window down when this occurred. Just last week a woman in a car (type not known-) in spokane was trapped and had to be rescued when her car caught fire and she couldn't open door or window. She was lucky a cop busted a window and dragged her out. This is a spooky thing if all cars are like that in a fire. Car had died in street. Mine ignited at stop light. You have a very hidden problems in these plastic cars. If mine had happened a day later then there could have been a loss of seven young children that were going on a trip along with my daughter who was driving. Scary and no one seems concerened.

Instrument panel while driving suddenly at night does not light up, vanity lights, interior overhead lights, and universal garage door opener does not work either. Dangerous as you cannot see gauges(speedometer, fuel gauge, tachometer ), ot even the turn signals on the instrument panel.

My 2008 Caravan originally had a recall an replacement of the electrical sliding door that were faulty an could catch fire. Now that was replaced, it's already failed and caused a hole new safety issue. If the door is not completely closed the door ajar light doesn't come on and the door flys open while in motion. Both doors have completely failed and no longer function as intended. This concerns me since I have small children an their hands or limbs could be smashed by the door while in motion.

Tipm totally integrated power module went out. The van is only 3 years old. We keep in maintained. It is a shame that this has happened as we are still making payments on the vehicle. We were out of town and had to have the vehicle towed back to our town to be put in the shop.

My van is up to date on all recalls, but it has begun to shut off randomly while driving. The traction control light comes on and whole thing shuts off. I have seen a ton of others with the same complaint. The dealership has been less than helpful. I have poured money into the car, but it is unsafe. Looks like a recall issue. The switch housing in the drivers door that controls the windows on my 2008 Dodge Caravan caught fire when my daughter rolled down her window on the passenger side. I was driving down the road at the time and was only a couple of blocks from the house. Dodge has recalled the 2010-2014 models with the 3rd row electric vent windows which my vehicle also has. I reported the incident to fca, the parent company of Dodge, and was told I would receive a call from their investigative unit in 48hrs. That was more than a week ago. Multiple calls later and they still have not bothered to call me back.

Car randomly will not start, can randomly stalls as well. Been reading that it's related to the tipm but Chrysler won't issue a recall. They've issued recalls for the exact same year for the Dodge durango, why is this any different? highly frustrated for the consumer and dangerous for when our van has stalled while driving. I was in the driveway the first time acted like it was going to start then died all lights on panel lite up had towed to galeana Dodge found it was the tipm module. Cost over $1,000 to fix. Tried talking to Dodge corporate to try to get money back after noticing so many complaints and no help from them. Now my car is back in the shop with same issue, 3 weeks later. No loaner car available. My only vehicle. This time I was driving and the car stalled and then all the lights came on again. Waiting to hear what is this time sounds like the same thing again. Was told by corporate to post complaint here and maybe there would be recall that's all the help they offered. Wow way to keep customers Dodge. The first time this happened was on 3/5/2016 the second time was on 4/4/2016.
