Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe Problems of Dodge Caravan

Engine developed severe oil leak. After 6 repairs in the last 13 months mechanic (monro muffler & auto) has said that the crankshaft end play is out of tolerance. Only repair is to replace block or entire engine.

The cross over pipe underneath split apart, allowing the exhaust fumes/carbon monoxide to enter compartment. Fumes were sometimes overwhelming. Vehicle hesitated upon acceleration and stalled. Manufacturer was aware of this problem, and the part was back ordered with 10,000 consumers waiting. . . . . . Fiv eother families encountered the exact same problem.

Part in question was a cross over manifold pipe; it connected two manifolds together on top of the engine. The consumer requested a refund. The consumer was told the vehicle would not pass state inspection because the vehicle had an exhaust leak.

Consumer stated that vehicle's oil is leaking from head gasket over manifold. Concerned could start a fire. Ts.

Engine knocking due to right head rocker arm retainer being broken off head, and bent rocker arm/ shaft bent. While driving the check engine light blinks three times. Consumer states the cast rocker arm failure was due to flaw in design. The exhaust manifold broke.

Engine head gasket blewout, causing vehicle to leak oil. Consumer states that the manifold was cracked and welded.

Exhaust manifold has developed a hole in it on the right side. This causes exhaust gas to be ported out right in front of the passenger compartment.

Vehicle bought brand new, well maintained, but oil started leaking approximately 3 years from purchase. Then dealer inspects vehicle and conveyed that manifold needed to be replaced also. Very frustrating. Service person at dealer could not viable explanation as to why there were leaks in gasket or manifold failure.

Rust underneath the vehicle. All four axles/brake caliper,brake drums/stabalizer/ exhaust pipe and leaf spring bracket. Also, on tires and inside of the rims were rusted. Consumer stated notified the dealership. Customer arbitration board dinied customer's request for replacement vehicle saying that the rust is not a manufacturing defect.

A crack in exhaust manifold caused fumes to come into vehicle. Dealer could not duplicate concern. Customer states vehicle jerks when in cruise. Dealer found no problem.

Tail pipe is black on the inside. Nlm.
