Chrysler has issued a recall regard the ignition switch which includes a list of their vehicles including the 2008 Dodge Charger, which I drive. The recall states: Chrysler says ignitions keys on certain vehicles may not fully return to the "on" position after they are turned to start the engine. Instead, the key ends up between the "on" and "start" position. In that case, the windshield defroster and windshield wipers won't work. The greater danger, which Chrysler calls "less probable," is that the key moves to the "accessory" or "off" position. If that happens, the car's engine will turn off, it will lose power steering and the air bags won't deploy. I am experienced this problem while driving my vehicle which prompted me to see if there was a recall. I reached out to Chrysler and questioned why I received recall a recall notification for the airbags but not for the ignition. I was advised that my VIN is not on the list for the ignition concerns. The Chrysler agent advised me that my VIN # was not on the list for the ignition problem. I advised the agent that I am experiencing the issues outlined in the recall. She advised that it was nothing Chrysler can do until my VIN number is added to the recall list. I asked if there was an escalation process, since driving with a faulty ignition is extremely dangerous. She advised me that there was not a process to escalate my concerns even though I provided her with my VIN number and she could clearly see that it was for a 2008 Dodge Charger sedan. Please assist in the resolution of the ignition switch concern.

I had a light coming on that indicated that I have an air bag malfunction and to have serviced immediately. I looked up that some of the Dodge and Chrysler products have had a recall due to faulty wiring on a connector from the factory. They pulled up my VIN and stated no recalls for my vech, per. The VIN. However she did say it was showing the orc switch was bad. Then stated that I would have to pay because its out of warranty. I said ok I will have to let them know because I thought it was under recall. Then I was told I would have to schedule an appointment for diagnostic. So I asked if I take the vech. And the air bag deploys due to malfunction and I get hurt then what. They said sorry don't know what to tell you. Ok is this not a hazard to myself and other's? if its the same as the no7 recall but not my VIN. That seem like they should have extended the recall to other vech. As well.

When I purchased the vehicle I was told all recalls had been done. I came to find out they hadn't. The ignition issue 14v-567 and 15v-313 have not been done. There were 3 other issues that had to be done by another dealer because dearth motors couldn't do the work. They paid for those. I had to pay over $400 dollars for new ignition switch and keys and was not happy. My check engine light has gone on 3 different lights. They say the code was cleared and kit went off. It came on again yesterday. Frustration and deceit doesn't even begin to cover my feelings right now. They also claim the parts for the recalls aren't available. Not a sufficient answer.
