I was driving it and all of the sudden it shut down and I couldn't push the breaks and it started to smell like burnt wiring badly and I was in the middle of the road and ended up having to push it on to the side of the road and then leave it were it died for 2 days until finally I got ahold of a tow truck and now its sitting in my drive way dead.

I have a engine problem with my car which is comes under warranty I went to the dealership they told me I still have to pay for everything I just bought my car this year the engine just shut down on the road without any reason. It didn't give any warning.

I was driivng on the interstate and my car shut off by itself. I tried to restart but no luck. I found out that the timing chain broke off. I know theres been recall on the timing chain before.

While driving on a 2 lane highway with traffic behind me, the car shuts down and I lose power while driving. The steering wheel locked up making it very difficult to turn. I pressed the gas repeatedly and nothing happened. Cars behind me were blowing but there wasn't much I could do. The car was slowing down anyway so I pressed the brake and they worked so I struggled like crazy to turn the steering wheel and was able to put the car into a church driveway. Thank god the brakes worked or it could've been ugly. I tried starting the car but it wouldn't do anything but act like it wanted to start. It wasn't a clicking it was more like a winding noise like a ruuu ruuu ruuu. I tried to start it again and it made the same noise but it sounded worse. I had to have the car towed to my home because there wasn't a repair shop opened that late. I'm going to call a mechanic to see what the issue might be. This is not the first time this has happened to me. It happened two in April and three rimes in may of this year but it started back up. I wasn't so lucky this time. The last time it happened I replaced the alternator and the battery and I had not had any problems since doing that. I took it in to have it checked and it was placed on a machine and no codes would show up but the guy recommended I replace the alternator and the battery, and I did. Dodge really needs to do something ASAP. This shit is ridiculous. It happened to me when I was on the interstate and on the highway. Hopefully this doesn't happen with an inexperienced driver or someone in a really high traffic area because someone could get injured or killed. I guess that's what they're waiting on to fix the problem.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Charger. While driving, the vehicle shut off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who gave the vehicle a tune-up, but the failure continued. The manufacturer stated that the only recall associated with the failure was NHTSA campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags) and referred the contact to NHTSA. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 136,000.

Pcm shuts down briefly without warning at seemingly random times, although this seems to be more common when accelerating from stationary such as at a stoplight. Sometimes the outrage is extremely short and there is a ding from the instrument cluster, sometimes it is longer with one or more warning lights illuminate briefly including the electronic throttle, and sometimes the cel will illuminate. Outage never seems to last more than a fraction of a second. If the cel comes on the code is u0100 lost comm. W/pcm. If speed is above about 15 mph the engine doesn't actually stop, there's just a big jolt, as if they hey had been turned off and then rapidly back on. At slower speeds the engine stops and must be restarted with the key. This has resulted in near accidents when pulling into traffic and suddenly stopping. Dealer had the car for a week, at first couldn't duplicate but when it did happen they couldn't diagnose. They reprogrammed the tcm and changed the transmission fluid and filter (which were due anyway) and replaced the battery for lack of any better ideas. This problem can go a week or two without happening or happen 10 times in 3 days. I added a recording voltmeter to monitor key voltages in and out of the pcm (measured and recorded approximately 20 times per second) and this showed the first sign of trouble is the auto shutdown relay control voltage out of the pcm going to zero while the battery voltage and keyswitch �run� voltages both remained high(~14. 2 volts). I replaced the pcm with a refurbished one (could not locate a new replacement) and the problem was not observed for two months, but then resumed. Multiple similar reports on the internet, mostly related to filling the gas tank but my problem has no correlation to refueling or fuel level.

I took my 06 Charger in for airbag recall and when I left the dealer my car shut off at every lights and shut off in the middle of going 40 50 miles an hour. It continues to do that more and more everyday. I've read on the internet about so many of the 6th generation Dodge Chrysler products doing this exact same thing. I can understand why a problem that causes you to stall out in the middle of a busy intersection is not addressed. First it start telling me that it was electronic throttle control problem, then it's now telling me that is a problem between the throttle control module and the ecm. This happened exactly one minute after I left the dealer getting my airbags recalled. It stalls at when stationary, when moving, in the middle of the street, and every couple minutes. I know I am not alone with this problem but I don't understand why nothing is being addressed.

I was driving on the freeway when all of the sudden a bunch of warning lights started flashing on the dashboard so a pulled off the freeway and the motor died and would not start again. . I bought a brand new battery and put that in then the alternator started smocking and burned out so I bought a new one and put that in. I made it across town all light started flickering again and car shut off while driving. I replaced the alternator again and the same thing happened again! I don't know what to do now the car is dead!.

While driving to work on the 880 freeway the car shut off b/c of the alternator, now I have to pay put of pocket and they are going to reimburse me and I have to rent a car for the next 2 days. . My Dodge has shut off on me while driving twice and each time we take it to the dealership they say they cannot find anything wrong with it. The first time it happened was August 6, 2018 the second time was August 29, 2018. Both times it shut off on us while we were on the freeway.

My wife was driving over a bridge in city limits at 9:30pm and our car shutdown on her she felt a little pull and then the engine shut off and we had to get it towed. When I try to turn the car on the car sputters and turns as if it is going to start but never does. Started engine and violently started shaking and then shut the engine off an restarted fine. While merging onto the highway on ramp moments later the car shut off and was unable to start again. The vehicle had to get towed on the highway on ramp. Engine has been deemed unfix-able by automotive shop an a new one must be used to replace it.

Hello my 2013 Dodge Charger 3. 6 while I was driving the vehicle has just shut down with no warnings and I had to get it towed to a Dodge shop u waited on my vehicle for days and they said it was a blown fuse but I'm in the technology field and it seems to me that someone has access or remotely access to my vehicle now I have issues with my fuel which I'm getting 10 miles a gallon, and my vehicle is getting to a point to wear I have to pull over because it's getting overheated something is seriously wrong and I feel unsafe anytime your vehicle shuts off where you don't have control of it it's a hazard to everyone my uconnect radio ask for a anti theft code but it was before I took it to auto nation Dodge it really needs to be looked at I've parked the vehicle it has 67000 miles and I just bought it in October of last year also the windows roll down by there selfs the vehicle was going about 45 mph on city hwy and the dealership never had it smoked before they sold it to me.

The electrical system in the car shut down while driving through an intersection , 180 amp alternates failed, all systems failed while driving.

My wife was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden her gauge cluster was acting erratically and all the car odometer lights all came on and the vehicle shut off on the freeway and everything locked up, she couldn't move the wheel or the gear shifter and she smelled a burning smell with smoke coming from the engine . Luckily her parents were behind her in another vehicle and was able to help out but this is very dangerous and I have seen numerous reports of Dodge Charger having this same issue.

The manufacturer has a recall (p60) on the car but I'm not covered since I have a 180 amp alternator. I almost had a major accident in the middle of a very busy atlanta express way because my car shut off and blowing a smelly air out of the vents. The power was lost and it had a message saying battery saver mode. This is not right that they will not cover my call and it is having the same issues. The service department at the dealership said this is the same issue that others Chargers are having and they are covered. If some would have lost their life then then would be out of more than fixing a car.

After refilling my tank with gas, my car suddenly began to stall. Immediately after refilling, I started my car and within a few seconds it shut off. After many attempts of starting it and remaining stationary, my car finally remained on for more than 5 minutes and I assumed it was safe to begin driving. 5 minutes into driving on a city street the car began to jerk and stalled in the middle of the street, fortunately it didn't cause an accident. I was able to restart it and turn into the nearest shopping center where I contacted chrystler, who claimed they had no knowledge of this issue. I've seen a multitude of complaints with similar, if not the same, issues I continue to experience.

When I'm driving under 60 mph it stalls as if it's going to stop and the electrical light pops on and goes off but it does not shut off. When I am driving under 40 it will shut off and I have to hit the brakes and put it in park or neutral and restart it. But the best part of this which it's really not a best part that it starts rite up after each encounter. There is no engine light through out this issue so I don't know what kind of code it's going to read. I took it to napleton Dodge in lansing, IL yesterday and told them the issue and showed them the edmunds report for the extended fuel tank warranty but off course they want to try to get some kind of money from me ($125) for a diagnostics which I'm telling them and showing them the report.

6/19/15 the car was taken to the dealer originally for a recall on the alternator. After the job was completed I drove the car home and had trouble shutting it off. After shifting it through the gears several times it shut off. The next day I had the same problem. I took it to the dealer the next weekend and they could not replicate the problem. I took the car home and it shut off fine. The next day the problem started again. I took it back to the dealer and this time they were able to replicate the problem and was told to shift it through the gears and it would be fine. Also told that the only way to shut the car off was to remove a fuse to the fuel injection. Truly not an acceptable answer. 7/13/15 the car wouldn't shut off at all. Drove it to the dealer and it's been there ever since. I have been told several different things by the dealer, lithia Dodge, medford, or. The latest is an actual Dodge corporate engineer is supposed to call them back. Not exactly sure how a car can be designed without an alternate way to shut it off if the push button start and stop does not work. The dates are approximate as my paperwork is in the car.

My car is shutting off while driving causing unsafe driving conditions. I have checked numerous forums and many people are having this same issue. This could result in a fatality.
