2 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2016 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/15/2020

One day when I was driving, I heard a really loud sound coming from my car that hurt my ears so I drove back home under 5 miles per hour because whatever was hitting under the hood of my car was way too loud. As I was parking in my spot at home, my car shut off completely. Couldn't even put it in park and said to check engine. I ended up having to get my car towed to lithia of Dodge to look at it to see whats wrong because I couldnt even turn my car back on at all or do anything with it it was undriveable. I was told the driveshaft broke and slammed against the engine, transmission, anything basically connected to the driveshaft was damaged. They didn't total it out and told me to call my insurance but then they sent me elsewhere too and for 6 months I could not get anything worked out. Come to find out, there was a safety recall on 2016 Dodge Chargers for one of the reasons being the driveshaft not being tightened enough when made or something that it broke and could potentially lead to an accident that could cause injuries! I am lucky that I did not get in an accident or hurt because it happened when I was driving. It said that the recall was completed but of it was, it shouldnt have broke on my car. I stopped paying my loan and everything because no one was totalling it out or sending me to someone who could help so now my car is repossessed and says I still owe on it which I feel is wrong and I shouldnt have the repossession or be having to pay anything on it.

15 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/11/2013

Went to start my Dodge Charger r/t and the engine made a unknown terrible loud noise and then would not start. I've had issues with the car stalling while driving and when coming to a complete stop the car would die. But I've never experienced this terrible loud noise of the engine. It's clear this engine shouldn't have had this malfunction at the mileage the car is currently at, I believe this to be true as I towed the car to the Dodge dealership for inspection of the engine and they had stated this malfunction shouldn't have happened at this mileage if at all. Dodge refuses to open the engine to determine the exact issue with the engine without my fronting 480. 00. I called Dodge/crystal corporate customer service who did not want to offer any assistance and they advised to file a compliant with NHTSA. I want Dodge to either repair the vehicle or to buy the vehicle for the amount I currently have invested. I strongly believe Dodge is to blame as I have researched this issue and have found this is not an isolated occurrence.

16 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2012 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/21/2013

I have a 2012 Dodge Charger rt hemi with 5. 7l. The engine was damaged while driving through an intersection with about 5-6 inches of water left by a heavy rain. My husband was driving slow, following a procession of vehicles which all had successfully driven through. About 10 minutes later the engine started to make really loud noises. I had to call Dodge roadside assistance and they towed it to the nearest Dodge dealer. The dealer advised me the next day that on 2012 Dodge Chargers the air intake supply is located very low to the ground, where it allowed water to get pushed up and into the engine causing the engine failure. I feel that it should be covered by the warranty, because of a faulty design by the manufacturer. After speaking to some Dodge dealers about the problem, they thought that the repairs would be a covered under the manufacturers warranty. The repair had to be put through my insurance for about $8000 and I've had to pay a $500 deductible. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with water and engine failure after driving through rainwater. Thank you in advance.
