While traveling at 75mph on the highway, the vehicle shut down. No propulsion at all and the error message "pull over safely - vehicle will shut off soon" was displayed. Was able to coast to a nearby exit and have the car taken to a dealer for service. Very unnerving at 75mph and a significant safety hazard to me and other drivers.

The engine in my vehicle (2007 Charger, 49,000 miles) has completely failed due to "casting sand sludge". This issue has been acknowledged by fca stellantis; but only in much newer engines. The failure in my vehicle, from the "casting sand sludge" caused the vehicle to have engine heat issues, which could have started a fire or resulted in the complete seizure of the engine at speed, potentially leading to a catastrophic and fatal outcome. The fact that the issue is present in my vehicle strongly indicates that fca stellantis was aware of the casting sand sludge issue far earlier than they have acknowledged. The service center suspected a head gasket issue, so they began to address it; what they found was casting sand sludge throughout the engine block. An issue which is an inherent defect of manufacturing, which is unknowable to a unsuspecting owner - until a total failure occurs. This issue would also coincidentally constitute a breach of the "implied warranty of merchantability", as the issue makes affected vehicles not fit for their intended purpose. The service center that found the defect is an authorized fca stellantis dealer/service provider. The service manager has had an "conference call" with an area service manager & a service technical advisor. The service manager has indicated that it is casting sand & has told me that if the manufacturer has him send them the engine that I what he is putting on the report. He has told me that he feels that the manufacturer likely will try to bury the issue by attempting a "forced buyout". Cursory, research by myself has found that casting sand in the presence of h. O. A. T or o. A. T. Coolant & heat forms a sludge which over time {40,000 to 55,000 miles} renders an engine unusable, risking catastrophic failure or fire. Lx platform vehicles of the era 2005-2009 were considered "durable for intended purpose for 150,000 to 300,000 miles". Casting sand left in the engine block, during manufacture, violates that durability.

Dodge Charger, 2016, won't turn on a list. Key is in the cup holder. On the driver's side also there are many videos showing this same issue with many Dodge, twenty sixteen Chargers.
I am filing a safety defect complaint regarding a 2026 Dodge Charger daytona (400v electric vehicle platform) that suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system shutdown at approximately 1,261 miles. The vehicle had charge remaining and was being prepared for charging when it experienced a forced ev system shutdown and would not restart. The vehicle displayed partial state-of-charge but became completely electrically inoperative.
Theres a problem with the lifters. They are of the "mds" type. If exposed to too much pressure while cold they appear to have a issue with the needle bearings failing. This problem was corrected on two other occasions and repaired. Its making the same noise again. Prior to this I had contacted the California dispute settlement program as this purchase was from that state and had suggested they replace the cam and lifter setup to one of a non-mds type and a high volume oil pump and Dodge denied my request. While the vehicle was repaired, they didnt provide documentation as to what was done although I was told the first time it was repaired they had indeed replaced lifters.

The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 67.
While I am driving the vehicle it shuts off and the key seems to be loose. It has shut off multiple times while operating driving down the highway making it unsafe to get to the side of the road.

While driving on the highway with my 14-year-old child as a passenger, the vehicle began shaking/jerking and losing power. I activated hazard lights and exited; the car continued to struggle and is now parked due to safety concerns. O’reilly scan p0304 (cylinder 4 misfire). This occurred 12,703 miles after a dealer-performed tune-up (spark plugs x6) at cable dahmer cdjr (kansas city, mo). Same-day after that service I returned, reported drivability issues, and the dealer claimed ‘no problem. ’ in Feb 2025 they recommended spark plugs again; in March 2025 management emailed that my ‘tune-up appears it hasn’t been done yet’ (contradicting the invoice). The dealer now refuses to treat this as a continuation without a $199 diagnostic. Vehicle is not being driven due to safety concerns. -engine/ignition system-cylinder 4 misfire (spark plug/coil) causing loss of power at highway speed.

Car was 1. 5 weeks old, purchased brand new. Had several electrical glitches in the days prior, which went away. Pulled into my son's little league game, and the car just started flashing all lights on the dash, then said 'service transmission'. Gear shifter flashing, could not put the vehicle into park or any gear, it was like tit was stuck between park and drive. Anyhow, here it is, in the shop already after 800 miles of ownership. Quite disappointed. Apparently this has been happening a lot to new Dodge Charger daytona ev owners. Extremely common.

Ting to formally report an ongoing and unresolved safety issue with my vehicle that poses a serious risk both to myself and others on the road. The core issue appears to involve high-voltage faults and can bus voltage exceeding threshold limits—likely tied to the vehicle’s telematics system. Despite this, the vehicle is currently not communicating properly, and the diagnostics data are inconsistent or inaccessible. Here are the key concerns: •the vehicle has shut down multiple times while in motion, creating a dangerous situation. •it is only achieving ~10 mpg, a drastic drop from expected efficiency. •I was explicitly told not to drive it until the problem is resolved due to safety concerns. •the dealership has refused to repair the issue and has provided false information regarding diagnostic codes, which I’ve recorded for documentation. •this problem has persisted for nearly a year without resolution. At this point, I’m left with a vehicle that is unsafe to operate and a dealer network unwilling to take accountability. I’m requesting a formal investigation into this matter, as it may reflect a broader systemic or manufacturer-level issue affecting others as well. I can provide supporting documentation, service records, and recordings of diagnostic readouts as needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The car failed to start, leaving it stranded and needing a tow. There is no reason for it as it has had no accidents or other issues to induce this. It is a known issue with these vehicles and nothing is being done about it.
Car would not start on a full charge. Potentially leaving me stranded.
Shuts off while driving with no warning. . . Stalls at stop light/sign and when I try to accelerate it has barely goes. . Sometimes it seems like it has no power at all and sometimes it seems like it has to much power without me accelerating. Its very dangerous this issue has almost made me get into several accidents.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal sound was heard coming from under the engine. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the diagnosis was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed as needing a front drive shaft replacement. The vehicle was previously repaired for the front passenger side bearing, and the other unknown repairs were made; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
Vehicle entered sudden limp mode while merging onto freeway, reducing propulsion to ~30 mph and forcing driver to coast along shoulder. Dash displayed warning: “stop safely. Vehicle will shut off soon. ” multiple system faults appeared (regen, traction, collision fault, wrench light, turtle icon). Vehicle displayed uncommanded acceleration – continued driving without pressing throttle. Vehicles behind were forced to brake abruptly. The incident repeated 4 days later. Vehicle currently remains in dealership custody since may 30. Despite multiple attempts, stellantis engineers have not identified root cause. Possible defects involve throttle position sensor (tps), pedal module, 12v battery grounding, or motor actuator drift. Owner has had no consistent updates or defined fix. Problem remains active and unresolved. Vehicle is now undriveable due to unresolved risk of power loss during highway driving.
When I turned my ignition key, it would not turn on the car no power.

On January 6, 2025, countryside cdjr in georgia performed internal engine repairs on my 2019 Dodge Charger r/t, including lifter and internal engine work. Only months later, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure while driving. The vehicle became disabled and had to be towed. This raises serious concerns of improper repair or a safety-related engine defect. The dealership denies responsibility and blames a single missed oil change. A single missed oil change does not cause sudden catastrophic engine failure so soon after dealership-performed internal work. This could be related to known 5. 7l hemi lifter/camshaft issues. I am requesting that NHTSA review this failure for potential safety defect or incorrect repair contributing to engine failure.

Service bulletin # 14-002- fuel tank "roll over" valve failed immediately after fill-up saturating the purge solenoid and dryer canister for the fuel vapor vent reburning system. This service bulletin described failure caused liquid fuel rather than vapor to be dumped into the intake manifold stalling the vehicle in traffic in unsafe conditions. The car was towed to beamon Dodge at 1705 s. Church st. , 37130 awaiting repair. Dodge customer service was contacted at 1-800-423-6343 where they stated that this VIN was not covered by the service bulletin. Quoted repair for the manufacture defect is $4,680. 48. Clearly the vehicles covered by this service bulletin are incomplete. Complaints of this failure can be found on the internet through 2014 when this service bulletin was issued on April 22, 2014. Clearly Dodge corrected nothing in their manufacturing and NHTSA is not protecting all consumers.

My 2006 Dodge Charger stalls after refueling, and now stutters when driving as if not getting fuel. I have noticed when attempting to break and stopping at stops this is happening more often. The car shuts down and could cause a accident. After researching this issue I found that this has been addressed already under investigation number pe13-016 by the NHTSA.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into gear. The check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as needed while driving at low speeds. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while depressing the accelerator pedal to shift from first gear to a higher gear. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that there was no oil in the oil pan. The mechanic recommended an oil change and added oil to the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with major oil leak due to the oil filter housing failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.
While coming around a 35mph turn my car shut its self off. Normally it would say please put car in park but it shut off and had to panic and pull hard to make it around the turn. Put car in park then I was able to restart the car.
The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the front passenger's side door panel was detaching. The contact stated that the infotainment system screen was delaminating, causing the screen touchpad to engage vehicle functions independently. Additionally, the contact stated that upon driving the vehicle out of the garage, the contact became aware that oil had leaked from the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the oil was leaking from the o-ring in the engine. The mechanic determined that the o-ring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Filled fuel tank up until the pump shut off. As I drove onto the road, the engine suddenly died causing me to run off the shoulder as the power steering went out as well. I eventually got it re-started, but it ran rough and stalled out several more times on my way home. After some online research, I determined that it was probably raw gas getting pulled down the evap tube. I avoid the problem now by not filling the tank up all the way, but do it once in a while accidently and the problem returns. Highly dangerous situation.
My safety & the safety of others was at great risk while driving my 2018 Dodge Charger sxt. While driving my dashboard lights went completely dark and the steering wheel locked. I was unable to move out of lanes threatening my life and the life of others around me. Independent mechanic put scanner in my car days later and code that appeared was “u0100 lost communication with ecm/pcm” I looked up my VIN # on mopar. Com and noticed my vehicle did have a “important safety recall: reprogram powertrain control modulel”.
