Backing up to park, power steering completely failed. Had to have vehicle towed, not able to drive. Several complaints about power steering failure. Had I been on the highway, would've crashed!.

Power steering fails, making it difficult to maneuver hard turns. This has caused me to go off the road and nearly wreck/strike other cars. After much research this is a common issue in these cars. It occurs at city and highway speeds. It's hard to steer at high and low speeds.

2014 Dodge Charger has power steering failure, no accidents to cause damage have occurred. Power steering has gone out but will occasionally function for several seconds causing potential crashed at high speeds on freeway. This dangerous issue has been getting worse over several months and we are not the only ones to have it.

We've purchased 15 pursuit rated Chargers this year. Out of the 15 we have found 2 so far with steering failures. One failure was during idling for a period of time, the other after a high speed pursuit causing the power steering to fail under extreme driving conditions.

The vehicle was taken to larry h miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram provo (1825 north university parkway, provo, utah 84604, 801-734-9791) where it was diagnosed that the electro hydraulic power steering failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not covered under warranty for the electro hydraulic power steering repair. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. While driving 45 mph, the steering wheel locked up and made it impossible to steer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the power steering assist failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 49,000.

3/9/13 - vehicle in for oil change. Battery saver mode message displayed on dash 2 miles down the road. Pulled over to check owner's manual which states immediate vehicle service required. To airpark Dodge dealership approx 7 miles down the road and power steering failure and then engine stalls while making left turn through intersection. Had both my children ages 2 and 5 in the vehicle at the time and thankfully no on coming traffic during the turn. 3/12/13 - alternator and battery replaced at airpark Dodge. 4/23/13 (35,690 miles) - vehicle back to airpark Dodge for another battery saver mode message. Source could not be found, no repairs made. 7/25/14 (47,900 miles) - battery saver mode message, no dash lights, no a/c, no power steering, no headlights while doing 30 mph. Vehicle to airpark Dodge again on 7/29/14.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the power steering assist failed followed by the vehicle stalling. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel tank would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified and they offered to cover seventy-five percent of the repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 102,000.
