1 Transfer Case problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 11/18/2019

Between 30-60 mph, awd transfer case actuator kept disengaging/engaging while driving. Slight jarring of car occurred when action happened. It was taken to a Dodge dealership in Nov 2019 and a software upgrade was performed which seems to have resolved the issue. I had to pay ~$68 for this service. Google/web discussions show this is a broad issue among the Dodge Charger awd, and should probably be considered a company-covered recall/repair rather than a charge borne by car owner.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the transmission failed on the vehicle. The contact tried to pull off from a light and they heard a loud bang. The contact stated that the vehicle did not accelerate and they were unable to put the vehicle into park. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer stated that the drive shaft had broke between the transmission and the transfer case. The dealer stated that the manufacturer wanted them to send the entire transmission back to be inspected instead of repairing it. The manufacturer was going to send an entirely new tranmission, drive shaft and transfer case. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage and current mileages were 5,000. Rl.
