Purchased a new truck and four days later had a blow out on the right rear tire. I went to a local goodyear dealer and he said the tire was cut (appeared to from loading or unloading during transit). I am absolutely certain I did not run over anything large enough to leave a gash of that size. There was a four inch section that blew out of the tire and goodyear would only offer a discount on a new tire. It appears that goodyear is not concerned about the welfare of their customers, because they will not stand behind their product.
The right rear tire experienced a blowout while traveling highway speed of 70 mph with only the driver in a 2001, Dodge, Dakota, original equipment, tire size 265/70r16, dot#4872wdwr4700, manufactured in canda. Goodyear was notified but did not want to pay the cost for the tires.
Tire blowout- the tires have less than 8000 miles on them firestone firehawk p2257015 these are not on the list yet but I am concerned about them. Is anybody doing anything about this tire? can I get them replaced at a lower cost, if they are not on the list? I do not want these tires on my truck. ( dot number: hyuujba489 tire size: p2257015 ).
This tire blew out on the freeway with no warning at freeway speed, the tire destroyed the aluminium rim, I sent what was left of the tire to pirelli, they claim that their examination indicates no manufacturing defects, but that the "tire suffered an impact to the wheel at the 6:00 clock position the impact was severe enough to cause complete deflection of the tire down to the well smearing the interliner rubber on the well of the wheel. " I did not have an impact, the tire blew out without warning. I have retained the tire and rim. I have 2 other tires on my vehicle and I am concerned that there may be a defect in the tire. A tire blew up which was oem at only 14,000 miles at highway speed under no weight load in the bed. I'm in a truck club of fellow Dakota owners. At least 6 others have stated problems with the stock eagle LS tires exploding at 14,000 miles. While I only sustained damage of a blown tire and damaged rim, others have had multiple accidents with different eagle LS tires blowing at differnet times. I've contacted goodyear and Dodge directly. Unfortunately I didn't have the presence of mind to save the blown tire and rim for inspection. I don't expect anything personally from this but it would be nice if someone could look into this specific brand of tire. Thank you. (tiresize: 255/65/15)( dot number: tire size: 255/65/15 ).
