I purchased this car used from a kia dealer. I haven't even had it one month yet. While driving one day backing out of a parking space my brakes would not stop. I went to push down on them and it felt like I was trying to push down a brick. It wouldn't budge. You could hear air as you hit the brake but nothing else. A brake light popped up on the screen followed by a car with a swirly line behind it. I almost backed into someone and almost wrecked my car. Thank god my kids weren't with me and no one was hurt.

My family and I where coming up to a stop light. After leaving a mall when I applied the brakes the pedal got hard and the brakes lights came on. Tell me to service electronic brakes. I had to press down hard on the brake pedal and used emergency brakes to stop. This is the second time in over a year my brakes gave out .
When son attempted to leave parking lot, there was a medium "chunk" noise and the brakes didn't seem to work at all until he stomped really hard on the pedal. He drove his 8 miles home slowly, giving lots of braking room as every time he hit the brakes a hissing noise and very little brake response was given even when depressing the brake as hard as he could. When my husband drove it into the shop, he said it was like there were no longer power steering brakes. The brake booster was replaced, under warranty still, and since my son stepped so hard on the brake, he actually broke the brake pedal assembly as well, which caused the brake lights to stay on all the time even when the car was turned off. All that was replaced under warranty, too.
