The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v800000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and 19v293000 (power train) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The local dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the brake pedal was soft while depressed and hesitated to respond while driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they would follow up with her once the parts were available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
I was driving down a very steep hill when I lost all brakes in my vehicle. I took it to the shop and the said that oil had gotten into my my brakes master cylinder and it caused the brakes to go out. Luckily I drive a standard and I was able to stop by down shifting and using the hand brake. It was fixed. Not even a full year ago it happened again. I was at a stop light and I heard a very loud pop again and my brake light came on and an instant message flashed across my dash that I didn’t even have time to read that’s how quickly it happened. I once again took it to the same shop and it was the same issue. I have had mopar in on this and reported it to them both times. I am afraid I will be driving my car and lose brakes at a high speed.

Attempted to stop at a stop sign and the brake pedal sank with a hissing noise and then became very hard to operate. I had to maneuver to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of me by diverting into the other side of the road where a turneing vehicle had to stop to avoid colliding with me. I was able to reverse into a nearby parking spot and apply the parking brake to stop the vehicle. Mechanic has suggested that the brake vacuum check valve, brake master cylinder, or brake booster has failed but cannot pinpoint which component specifically.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the brake pedal. The brake pedal stiffened and was difficult to be depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the brake booster was faulty and there was brake fluid leaking from the brake booster. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.
The vehicle got too hot, almost all the electric system of the car had very little energy and blinked, the air conditioning takes a long time to work either to defog the windows, heat or cool. The radio is not working properly. Lights are not level. Emergency equipment is missing as well as an emergency repair tire. And also when I am driving it accelerates and brakes automatically and suddenly. Since I bought this car it has given me many mechanical problems.
06/08/2021. My daughter stopped to gas up at costco when a notice came up on the dash "engage parking brake to prevent rollback". She immediately called me to make me aware of it. Once home she again get this message. 06/09/2021. My daughter drove to school with no issues. However, leaving school she was going slowly over a speed bump when the car automatically shifted into park. She lost acceleration and the car rolled backwards off of the speed bump while she was wrestling with controlling the steering. The car shuts off and she was unable to start it again. She immediately called me and told me the message displayed again from yesterday "engage parking brake to prevent rollback". Now the car won't start. I am now on my way to the school when she calls me back to say it started and she is on her way home. I told her to be very careful. 06/10/2021. I drove the car while my daughter followed me to the dealership. On the way to the dealership at every stop the message displayed "engage parking brake to prevent rollback". While at the dealership I explained the problem and I had brought all repair documents that stated the same issue occurred in a repair with my son (twice), with me, and now with my daughter. It all stem from gear shift cable/bushings/tcm/transmission, which then was covered under warranty or recall. I emphatically didn't want to waste time with a diagnostic when I am sure its related to past repairs. The service tech was trying to convince me it could be something else and the diagnostics will tell them the true cause. I was reluctant but agreed for the diagnostic. I did state that what that diagnostic will show is that the transmission/recall is faulty. 06/11/21. The service tech called me to say the car coded p07b4 [park positioning sensor]. However he never called it a transmission park positioning sensor because in my opinion this part should be covered under the transmission warranty (see manual - parts covered - transmission:).
Brake booster failed, no abs, no traction control, no electronic braking assist. I've read where this has been recalled in Darts in 2013 models. Master cylinder and vacuum pump may also be bad.
Multiple occurrence: car will stall while driving, losing brakes. The lights on dash will start flashing wildly and the wind shield wipers will start going on its own when turned off. Car will not start back again for a long while. The air system will not work-no heat or air conditioner, just stopped working. Very dangerous situation, car is unsafe. I'm not sure how it has a high rating in safety.
Clunking noise with or without engaging brake pedal.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving at 70 mph, the radio engaged on its own and the vehicle lost power steering. Several warning lights such as the brake system light, the battery light, the airbag light, and the engine light were illuminated. The steering wheel became difficult to maneuver but the contact was still able to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with the battery and alternator needing to be replaced, and was repaired. The failure reoccurred today while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the vehicle as the obd reader failed to work. The vehicle was also taken to an unknown dealer who was unable to diagnose the vehicle for the same reason. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
I have had the brakes replaced twice due to it shaking while trying to stop. I also have put on three sets of rotors due to the shaking and even with brand new rotors the bouncing and shaking will not go away. The newest problem now is the brakes not wanting to work. I have had them checked by mechanics and they say there's nothing to do but change them out again!.
When the brake pedal was push it was hard as a rock and no brakes, had to use the emergency brake to stop ,almost getting hit in a intersection. Found that the power brake booster pump had seized and check valve to booster had failed introducing engine oil into brake booster. Dealerships have claimed it was no problem when recall was issued and another said recall has expired. I thought they have up to 8 to 10 years to fix safety recalls.
Federal recall in 2013 Dodge Dart on brake booster, serviced in 2016 for recall one part replaced for recall, the hose because they didn't find contamination then! now my car is unsafe to drive ,sitting at crysler dealership now 2020 due to the brake booster manufacturing issue, as a safety recall ,I the customer should not be responsible for cost to fix federal recall in my vehicle!!! if all parts of recall were replaced back when recall was issued I would not be running into safety issues relating to my problems now! my brake pedal goes to the floor ,and is a safety hazard to drive with my family! safety recall r63 brake booster.
I was stopped on a street that was a steep hill checking my mailbox. When I went to go up the brakes went to the floor and did not work at all. Car started to go backwards. No warning on dashboard ever about a brake problem. I was able to with a lot of strength pump them up. Went up driveway and again would not stop when brake was applied. Very dangerous and scarey.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds. The brake pedal became hard and failed to stop. At times the brake pedal went from hot to soft spontaneously . The contact replaced the front brakes. The service electric brake system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram farmington 970 e woodlawn dr, farmington, mo 63640 (573) 431-7800 where diagnosed the vacuum pump assembly and brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 87,049. The contact stated the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number: 15v800000 service brakes, hydraulic. Ap.
I've had my vehicle for barely 4 years and I've had to take it in for the brakes to be fixed twice. The brakes suddenly stopped working and became rock solid when when I tried braking on the highway. Luckily I swerve and used my emergency brakes. Other times, it worked but I would have to press it all the way down and once it reaches a certain point it has a kick back to it and the car doesn't stop smoothly instead it jerks about twice before stopping. On the second instance, it had a hissing sound coming from the brake pedal area. The first time this happened, the brake booster was replaced with an oem. Second time it happend (a yr later), the brake booster, vacuum hose, and vacuum pump were all replaced but it kept happening. $1,200 in on this second repairs and I am still waiting to get this fixed. A few Dodge dealers have confirmed this is a problem with the Dodge sedans in fact the previous years(2013 and 2014) models were all recalled for this same issue but the 2015 was not recalled despite it having the same issue.
While driving the Dodge Dart 2015, going downhill at about ~40mph, I was braking to decrease speed then the brake pedal lost pressure and was unable to use the brakes in order to slow down. Due to being a manual car I was able to downshift to slow down and pull over and avoided a dangerous accident. After getting it towed and serviced at a repair center they root caused the issue to a broken valve that caused a failure in the hydraulics system. Attached documents show report of valve malfunctioning causing failure in vaccum system. Valve failure caused brake booster to be filled with oil causing that component to fail as well.
Anti-lock brake system service light comes on and off as well as the traction control light. The antilock brake system is not working at all and skid control doesn't work either. Brakes are hard to push often and vehicle is more and more reluctant to stop. The vehicle is always in motion. Stearing is harder when the vehicle slows or stops also. The issue began at the same time as the antilock brake issue. Check engine light also came on. All lights where cleared at my last service but came back on immediately from leaving the dealership I serviced it at. I have kids I transport in this vehicle and failing brakes under 90000 miles is a big deal. Approximate mileage is 83000.
A while back vehicle taken into local dealer for two isolated incidents of vehicle rolling when coming to a stop regardless of the speed (dealership kept vehicle trying to recreate issue unsuccessful as for nothing wrong appeared and no codes had registered. ) then yesterday 7/2/2020 sudden while driving on city streets and coming to a complete stop, notification appeared, saying, "engage park brake to prevent from rolling. " vehicle was continued to be in used in city until parked for a period of about and hour after first notification. Engine was started yet vehicle would not change into any gear and began to roll while parked at a local business.
Car is experiencing a fluctuating brake pedal. At times, I will have to depress the brake down to the floor to get the vehicle to stop properly. Other times. . . It is fine and normal pedal pressure is present. Fluid level is fine. It is a bit disconcerting when you go to hit the brakes and the brake pedal goes to the floor before you have enough pressure to stop the car. My fear is that in a situation where I need to brake quickly, it could potentially cause an accident.
On 3 occasions. My clutch broke. I had it repaired 2 times and currently it went out again. I was driving during the time and lost power to my car. I also had replaced with the dealer my brake booster that went out 3 times. Frustrated.
Well fist thing ever went out was ac compresser the deal ship wanted over1,200 to fix that . Then my gear shift went out . Now my breaks are making a noise but their not bad . Then when you get 20 miles pr car want shift until you take you foot of gas then it will chang gears .
I was driving down a steep hill when I heard a loud pop and my brakes light came on and a message quickly flashed across my dash so fast I couldn’t even read it but I lost all brakes. Luckily I was driving a standard so I was able to down shift and use the hand brake to stop.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving about 35 mph, the brake did not stop the vehicle and caused the vehicle to hit a dog. The failure recurred while driving at about 70 mph. The vehicle. The vehicle was pulled to the side and crashed into a guard rail. There was no warning. The air bag did not deploy. There was no injury reported. The vehicle was damaged and was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer was not called. However, the contact stated that she called an unknown dealer a while back when she experienced a brake issue and was told that there was no recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. Fe.
I was driving to work and not even a mile from my house when I was coming to a stop at a stop sign my 2014 Dodge Dart sxt stalled. When it stalled the battery light came on and I shut it off. I was able to get it to start the next try. Then 7 days later, I was driving no more than 30 seconds when I was coming to a stop at another stop sign and the car stalled again with the battery light coming on. I tried to start it again a few times but was not successful. I needed a jump. I drove it straight to a mechanic who ran a few tests on the car including checking the battery and charging system. He said everything looked good which I figured since I just changed the battery a year ago. I drove it home. 2 days later I was two blocks from my house when it stalled for a third time (mind you this has never happened before these occurrences). Again, I was coming to a stop and the car stalled, the battery light came on, and I needed to have a jump since I couldn't get it to start. After researching a bit, this seems to be a very common issue. A few people said that changing the oil or adding more did the trick so I checked my oil and it was fine plus I changed the oil 3 months ago so it isn't that. Most cases mentioned that this started to occur around the 50,000 mile mark, which is about where mine is. There really should be a recall on this car it's a death trap! when the car stalls the power steering goes out as well so if this happened on the highway it would be very dangerous. This issue could really hurt someone and Dodge really needs to do something about it or find a solution. I took my car to the dealership in jenkintown, PA to get looked at and was informed of a few recalls but none that had to do with my issues. The fact that this is clearly a common issue is very concerning especially since there seems to be no clear solution.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart sxt. The contact stated that while driving at vaouris speeds when the brake padel is depress the contact would have to press really hard in order for the brake to engaged causing the contact to come to a complete stop while the brake assist warning light illuminated. The vehicle has not been seen for a diagnose test however, the contact mentioned NHTSA campaign:15v800000(service brakes, hydraulic) as a possible solution to the failure. The dealer (sahara Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram 5050 w sahara Ave #3400, las vegas, nv 89146 (800) 506-5050) was contacted and informed the contact that no recall was under the VIN. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 33,400. Ck.
While driving at various speeds, but mainly at lower speeds and while at a stop, the engine will stall and all power is lost to steering and brakes while several warning lights then appear on the dashboard - I have read on chat rooms of hundreds of these occurrences, and most seem to pint to a low oil condition that does not first light the oil light on the dashboard, but some indicate other electrical issues.
While driving I lost complete use of brakes and needed to use emergency brake to stop vehicle. I was driving in a residential area at normal speed limits. Brakes completely went down to floor and car accelerated. I noticed a air swooshing sound as I attempted to brake. I called my dealership and had vehicle towed to them. I was told it was an issue with vacuum hose running to vacuum pump to brake booster that was/is leaking that caused this to happen. They deemed car unsafe to drive until I pay full price for repair although I have extended warranty. There was a recall on 2013-2014 Dodge Darts for this issue. Can it be possible the 2015 Dodge Dart is also affected? I'm at 47, 985 miles. I am the only owner.
While driving with the cruise control on the car will jerk, the cruise control will turn off and the dash will light up saying electric brake service, I have a video of the panel if needed, also the car will not always start when the clutch is depressed, traction control also lights up for no reason, this has been ongoing since oct, 3 2019.
In motion: loss of power - found oil in spark plug wells; dealership replaced well seals, plugs and ignition coil, continued to have problems; compression test was done and found all of my engine o rings were bad which would have happened at time of manufacturing. Had engine replaced at 100,000 miles in motion: brakes - brake pedal will suddenly go all the way to floor and cause difficulty breaking in time. Happens sporadically; no none cause stationary: electrical - car will unlock trunk instead of doors; fan knob will effect radio volume; bluetooth does not connect; happens sporadically; no none cause.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. While driving 4 mph, the brake pedal was extremely hard and would not depress. The contact had to apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the brake indicator illuminated after the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was towed to hertrich Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep (1147 e pulaski hwy, elkton, MD 21921, (443) 406-2001). The dealer stated that there were no failures with the brakes. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 93,000. The VIN was unknown.
Put my car into reverse as I was backing out brakes felt stiff and hard took time to slow down. I had to use the hand brake to stop the car. I have not driven my car since I have been away for work. I see a few other people have had this same problem.
