Three problems related to engine head gasket failure have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Durango. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Intake plenum gasket failed. Over a 1 month time and only 60k in mileage. Oil is sucked out of the engine like a straw. I see Dodge has a service bulletin about the issue but this really is a defect since it has happened to a whole hell of alot of people. Next is these crappy balljoints. I had one fail 2 jears ago with only 49k in mileage. I went to the dealership to find that they only have a recall on 2001-2003 which is assanine since the same control arms and ball joints are used in the 1998 and 1999 models too. The property damage involved is the damage to my vehicle from a defective gasket or engine design.
