Engine Knocking Noise problems of the 1999 Dodge Durango

1 Engine Knocking Noise problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2004

While driving 70 mph a loud knocking noise was heard coming from underneath the hood. Driver applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and pulled over. Then, vehicle stalled. Consumer tried to restart vehicle, but was unable to do so. Consumer had vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that engine needed to be replaced due to sludge built up.

2 Engine Knocking Noise problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2002

While driving engine check light came on, heard a knocking noise, and engine had blown. Contacted dealer.
