Failure Date: 10/07/2014

On oct 7, 2014, my brother was coming home from work. It was raining that evening and a deer jumped out infront of him. Natural reaction, he swerved to miss the deer. The vehicle slid on the wet roads when he swerved, causing him to go head on into a stone "mountainside" wall. He was doing approximatly 60mph upon impact. Not one of the 9 airbags deployed. The accident was so bad, it caused the floorboard where the gas and brake are to "buckle", the axle was completely ripped out, and the drivers wheel was completely ripped off, yet not one of the 9 airbags deployed. My brother ended up with cuts on his head and face, he had a severe concussion and there is a "lump" on the back of his neck that the hospital isnt sure if it is a bone that is "out of place" or just a lump that formed from being hit. He is not permitted to work for a few weeks. He was slurring words and not properly talking for 4 days after the accident. The hospital said it was from how hard he hit his head. Everyone who has seen the vehicle, including insurance adjustor said it is a wonder he wasnt killed, especially since the airbags never deployed. Yet, a friend of ours accidently "tapped" a guardpost while parking and all his airbags in his Durango deployed. I guess you have to be going slow for Durango airbags to deploy?? how can they deploy in one that barely taps a parking post, but a 60mph crash, not one deploys?.

53 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2011 Dodge Durango

My airbag light has been coming on and off since I bought this SUV brand new. I have taken it back to the dealer they clear the code cause they said nothing was wrong. Well now it is on and wont go off, the dealer wont send me my records I have requested them through Chrysler Dodge 3 months ago. The dealer is saying I have never brought it in for that which is not true. They are refusing to fix the two open recalls they want me to drive 80 miles to get it fixed they keep saying there is a legal issue and there is no legal issue. Chrysler Dodge is believing everything they are saying with now proof. I have only this SUV for my family and now the airbags will not deploy if in a wreck and Chrysler has informed me they could deploy anytime. How is this safe??? today I took it to a different auto place they hooked it up and got the code b1c29, low and behold went online I found 4 open complaints with the same problem, and the same service from Chrysler they are putting lives at risk. My 16 year old daughter drives my SUV and I have to worry about her cause no airbags, this is why I bought this SUV for the safety aspects. Please get them to fix this and the two open recalls. Your my last hope.

56 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2004 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/14/2012

I have owned my 2004 Durango for three years and love this truck. Unfortunately, the passenger airbag light and instrument panel light keep coming on and off at will. The clockspring is not broken because the radio and cruise control still work while the light is illuminated. As someone else mentioned, the light will go off if you move the wires under the passenger seat. I have read several posts about the seat weights, control module, low battery voltage, clockspring and ecu as possible culprits. The car has also had two recent accidents prior to the lights appearance and the airbags did not deploy either time? my auto body shop and insurance company found this very strange. This manufacturing defect is very dangerous and Dodge has had this problem with several earlier model Durango and recalled them for defective airbag repair. Durango owners need to keep posting complaints to demand action be taken immediately!.
