Brake Disc Problems of Dodge Durango

Rotors and pads were replaced every 13. 000 miles. The last time vehicle was repaired the rotors/pads were replaced. Consumer stated brakes were replaced four times. Also, upper ball joints were replaced at 50. 000 miles.

While driving at any speed rear disc brake squealed. Dealer examined the vehicle on two occasions, and claimed that the system was working normally.

At 66,510 miles both upper control arms and both inner tire rods had to be replaced. The front brakes were replaced approximately 4 months ago and they too had to be replaced.

Vibration in front end of SUV. The vibration occurs when driving. Dealer states this is normal also vibrates when braking I am a service mgr. For farm dealership and deal with complaint everyday this is not normal problem with SUV but one that has been ongoing from the day the truck was bought and now Dodge and the dealer do not wont to repair this problem it has been to the shop 3 time going to different dealer this also had new tire installed at dealers request at my cost and had the tire balanced three times the vehicle has app 15,000 miles on now it is 2003 Durango.

Rotors are shot!! only 26000 miles can is maintained superbly. Ive read of past recalls on bad rotors by Dodge. Rotors were thin and rusting from inside out had to replace or risk major accident. Dt.

While driving, upon pressing brake pedal it pulsates erratically. The outside surface of the rotors was smooth while the inside surface was rough and uneven, indicating that it was defective.

Brakes pulsate when applied. Dealership is aware of problem. Rotors were pitted.

Brake drums warped in both front and back. Replacement cost approx. $750. 00.

The plastic piston in the calipers are engaged against the brake pads and have worn down the disc(rotor) over time. I do long distance driving, not start and stop; hence, it has taken this long to manifest itself. I complained about the front brakes grinding a second time on November 27, 2000.

The front braking system malfunctioned, causing the rotors and the pads to rub together and spark a fire in the brakes 2 times. Dealer replaced pads and rotors. Cause unknown.

Upper ball joint wore prematurely. Also, when brakes are depressed there is a popping noise from the front end.

Vehicle was taken to dealer for the brake light staying on, and a chattering noise when going over bumps. Took vehicle to an independent mechanic, and he said that tie rod ends were bad. Mechanic replaced tie rod ends. Currently, vehicle pulled to the right.

Lower control arm boot on the front wheel leaks oil onto the brakes, damaging the rotors and the pads. Dealer has been notified.

Consumer complained about front end suspension problems, including both the upper and lower ball joints. Also, front brakes operated poorly.

The power window motors/regulators have failed on all 4 windows repeatedly. Repairs under warranty have been done, however after approx 2 months the windows fail to go up or down. . . . . During low speed braking the front disc brakes make a grinding noise, the problem is continuous and the dealership says all items are within specifications.
