2 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2013 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 03/15/2014

April 2014 noticed loud sound and no brakes after going through carwash. Shortly after I received the first recall on the brake line. Phoned dealership but was told I was on a list and should be available July 2014. I've called several times but still not gotten the call to get my car in. Had to take the car into the dealership for water pump - at that time the service manager looked at my brakes and told me I definitely had a problem and would move me to front of the list. Still no calls. Since that time I've received several more safety recalls on my vehicle but am never able to get an appointment. I've asked since I have to leave the car to get a rental at their expense. They refused. I work 40 to 50 miles out of town and this is the only vehicle I have. I'm already being put out having to take the vehicle in why should I also have to bare the expense of a rental car as well. It has now been well over a year, my breaks are still bad. I panic every time it rains. My vehicle has recently started causing problems on starting up - it won't completely turn over - but it just keeps steadily trying - it won't let me cut it off and it's like its flooding itself. I now have a large stack of recalls on my vehicle and no one will help me. I'm not happy with Dodge and the lack of concern for my safety. I'm paying a car note for something that isn't safe to drive.

Failure Date: 08/18/2011

2005 Dodge Durango. In 2007 tierod end on passenger side broke while going down the raod. Luckily there was not an accident and the dealer fixed it for free. In August 2011 we discovered that the brake line was laying on the front axle on the drivers side. This caused the brake line to rub in two and caused brake failure resulting in a crash (which is how the problem as discovered). The towtruck driver also said he picked up a Durango that had the upper and lower ball joint broken causing an accident. The front end of the 2005 Dodge Durango is apprently very poorly designed.

The galt fire protection district has 2 Dodge Durango's 4x4. During an inspection of the brakes, it was discovered the brake line on the front left wheel was rubbing the chassis. The metal brake line near the caliper was worn more then half way through the wall of the brake line. Upon inspecting the other side it was discovered the right front brake line was also worn. I inspected the other Dodge Durango and discovered it was also warring in the same place. Failure of the front brake hydraulic system will reduce the vehicle's braking ability as much as 70%. In my professional judgment, this problem is worthy of a formal investigation and a recall, if others Dodge Durangos are found with this problem. The galt fire protection district's affected vehicles are as follows: 1b4hs28n2yf255795 with 36,101 miles and 1b4hs28nyf255796 with 42,888 miles thank you brian marriott fire mechanic galt fire protection district.
