1 Defogger problem of the 2015 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 05/31/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. While driving various speeds with the air conditioner activated, the defroster failed to defrost the windows. The contact also heard an abnormal noise coming from the air conditioning unit. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air conditioner evaporator core failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Another independent mechanic was also contacted and scheduled an appointment for diagnostic testing. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call NHTSA to file a complaint. The contact was concerned for her safety due to the possibility of the failure occuring in the extremely hot weather conditions. The failure mileage was approximately 82,201.

Failure Date: 12/01/2008

Heater blows good, then stops blowing, then will start again. The air conditioning also does this. Heater and air in back works fine. If you shut car off and restart will work. It is winter now and I can't see to drive.

3 Defogger problem of the 2006 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 01/30/2007

I have a 2006 Dodge Durango limited edition SUV with blend air heaer system. I purchased this vehicle in November of 2006. This vehicle has been in shop approx five times for defroster not working and still is not fixed. This is a very dangerous condition in winter time as windshield fogs and you have to scrape inside of w/s to see. This has been at dealership numerous times and still is not repaired. Defroster will work once in a while but most times not. I don't know if dealer knows how to fix this problem. They seem to be at a loss as far as what the problem is?? are there other Durangos with this same complaint that has or has not been resolved?? this obviously has been an ongoing problem with this particular vehicle. I would like to have this repaired before winter approaches in sept/oct of this year.

4 Defogger problem of the 1998 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 02/25/2002

There is a plastic flap covering the vent in the dashboard which prevents air or heat from coming out of the vent. I've tried to push the flap back down but it continues to flip up when I used the heat or air conditioner.

5 Defogger problem of the 1998 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 01/04/2002

Since buying the used 1998 Dodge Durango slt in October of 2001 with approximately 26000 miles. I had the Dodge dealership to replace the motor in the front driver's side window which cost me $100 for my deductible. I now have a problem with the rear view mirror defogger on the left and right side of the vehicle and now passenger side window motor is bad. I haven't replaced it as of this time. Although the Durango is approximately 4 yrs old, it only had 26000 miles on the vehicle which meant the vehicle wasn't driven often by the previous owner. I brought a car fax report to confirm that the vehicle was in good condition. I hope you can help with these problems which is definitely a manufacturing problem. Thanks.

6 Defogger problem of the 1998 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/01/2000

The flap which allows the air to either flow through the vents or defrost or heater vents is stuck blowing air out the heater and defrost vents. I have talked with others who have this same problem and have been told by the dealer that it is a known problem with Dodge. I can't afford to pay $200 for a part that is known by Dodge to have a defect. My children and I are about to suffocate from the heat of the summer. Is Dodge going to be fixing this problem or not? my next problem is the front end will not stay in alignment. I have been through two sets of tires and have had the front end aligned three times in the last 6 months with no results. I know of plenty of Durango owners with this same problem. Is this defective parts causing this problem? I also have a problem with the ignition/starter not wanting to start at least three times a week. Don't know if this is a defect or just something worn out. Don't know of anyone else with this problem yet. Thanks.

7 Defogger problem of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/10/1999

The back heater vent did not work in the Dodge Durango when we bought it, but we didn't realize it for a month later when it got cold outside. It took our dealer almost all winter to get a heater switch for my Durango. I still do not have a new seat belt for the drivers side and its been almost a month since the dealer said they were going to ordor it. Now I would like to know if my Dodge Durango is one of them that is on the recall list for a new bracket for the fuel tank.
