The contact stated that the failure was due to the sun roof assembly because the assembly failed at least ten times before within the past ten months. The contact stated that the failure first occurred in June of 2017. At that time, the vehicle was taken to the dealer (crystal Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge in brooksville, florida, 352-597-1265) where it was diagnosed that the sun roof failed. The sun roof assembly was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the sun roof was repaired once again. The dealer confirmed that the odor was in a tube that was located on the sun roof. The dealer stated the water drained from the tube into the instrumental panel. The dealer stated that they would clean the tube but they would not clean the mildew. The manufacturer advised the contact to write a letter to the manufacturer. She stated that the manual does not advise the owner about the tube located on the sun roof; therefore, they should be responsible for the entire cost of repair. The vehicle was left at the dealer.
