The passenger side seatbelt retractor broke, will not release seat belt at all. I am aware that NHTSA did testing in this particular year and model, and some are covered and some are not included in the recall, to be determined by the last 8 digits of the VIN #. I wish to dispute that my particular vehicle should be included in the recall. I can prove it is broken, a manufacturing defect. This is a major safety concern. I wish for an exception to the validity on the testing that was done on your end, which was found to only be an issue on certain “batches”. Apparently, this is a defect and should be repaired as soon as possible and I should not be charged. I can no longer drive this vehicle as long as I have a person in the passenger side. In case of an accident, because I was aware of this defective part in my Dodge Durango, I could personally be held responsible for anything that happens to my passenger and also for any repairs that happened as a result of the decision made by hhtsa, to pick and choose only particular “VIN numbers”on the same make and year of the the 2014 Dodge durrango. I ask for a reversal on this previously made decision. And to make Dodge take care of the replacement of the part necessary and labor. It clearly is a manufacturing defect, no matter what “batch” was decided as defective.

I cannot buckle in my driver side seatbelt. I contacted the dealership I bought my car from and they said 361 parts have been ordered nationwide and no one is receiving the seat belt buckle part.

I have a 2014 Dodge Durango. The driver side seat belt will no longer retract. I took vehicle to the nearest dealership, and they said a repair would not be covered under warranty and quoted me at $375. 00 for a $50 part and the rest being labor for about 1. 5 hours of work. I asked about any warranty since it was a safety issue but they said it was not covered. I am really disappointed to hear that the seat belt retraction not working and therefore causing the seatbelt to no function properly is not a safety concern for Dodge. I got home and started doing research and can see that there have been numerous complaints about this same issue: [xxx] and a related recall: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, the driver’s side seat belt failed to click and lock into the buckle as designed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
B post seat belt path mount is cracking like on the current recall for this year and model.
Driver side and third row passenger side seat belts have stopped retracting, will not retract. Exterior tail light is going out due to faulty manufacturer seal, water gets in and destroys tail light from inside which also lets water get into license plate bulb and makes the license plate bulbs burn out constantly. I feel unsafe driving my vehicle due to the seatbelt not retracting, if I have to slam on my brakes, the seal belt does not lock up like it should. I cannot have a passenger in the third row passenger side due to the seatbelt being loose and not retracting at all. Vehicle has not been reproduced, confirmed or inspected yet by anyone other than myself and passengers. No warnings before any of the issues.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango citadel. The contact stated that when he attempted to use the drivers seat belt it did not retract and did not work as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? 3rd for left and right seatbelts do not retract or lock. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I have children and they ride in that row if the seatbelts do not retract or lock they will fail in a crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. Dealership confirmed problem has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Dodge dealership has inspected vehicle on 1/3/2025 were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warnings. Recently purchased vehicle and noticed 2nd time driving it. Front seat belts jave the same issue but are covered under an extended part warranty. This issue puts children's safety at risk and should also be covered however all we got from the dealer was an offer of a discount. This is a known issue with this year make and model that Dodge is profiting off of because it is a safety issue. They should recall the vehicle for this since children could be at risk of ejection during a crash. As a nurse this really irritates me that they know about this and could add it to the extended part warranty and have refused to do so.
The 3rd row seat belt restraints failed. The left side was able to be fished back in but the right side was not able to be fished back in to get it to reset. I don’t want to use either until they are replaced. I did see there was a recall with this same issue with other models but not my VIN.
Drivers seatbelt buckle does not register, resulting in active chiming of the unbuckled seat belt alarm and disengaging of the airbag system. Driver must hold the seatbelt with downward pressure continuously in order to register the seat belt and return the vehicle to normal operating condition, and turn off the airbag system warning signs and chiming. Dealership refuses any assistance without payment despite being a vehicle safety system.

The driver's side seatbelt no longer retracts. The seatbelt lays loose across the driver's chest. There appears to be a break in a clip causing some pinching on the seatbelt keeping it from retracting. Searching the internet this appears to be a common issue with 2014/2015 Durangos.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that upon entering the rear of the vehicle, she became aware that rear passenger seat belts failed to retract. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the seat belt assemblies. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to warranty recall x90. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Driver side seatbelt will not retract. This vehicle has not been in any accidents. Took to local shop and they stated that it would cost $750 to fix. If it is a law that I have to wear the seatbelt and if I do not wear it I get a ticket it should be manditory that if tthe vehicle has not been any accidents like mine has not then Dodge should be responsible for the maufunction of this part.
Extended warranty was issued on driver and passenger front seat belt assembly due to crack in upper seat belt plastic guide, preventing proper retraction. I would like the report the same issue on 3rd row rear passenger seat belts as well.
My driver side seat belt doesn't roll back up after it is taken off. I have to manually force the belt to go up. This happened to my wife's Jeep grand cherokee and there was a recall on hers. This seems to be the same issue. I am afraid that the seat belt will eventually malfunction.
The seatbelt pulled out and won’t go back in.
Occupant restraint control (orc) module failure. Existing recall for other 2014 Dodge Durangos.
Defect pertains to the front driver seatbelt assembly. The overmold of the seatbelt pillar loop has cracked causing part deformation that pinches the webbing. Webbing is able to be extracted from the seatbelt retractor assembly, but, to some extent has retraction issues. This was an issue on the front passenger seatbelt assembly several years ago, and was replaced by the dealership. It has now occurred on the driver side seatbelt assembly. I am concerned that this problem could lead to poor coupling of an occupant to the vehicle who is buckled in a position with this defect and unaware. If an occupant leans forward in their seat, a significant amount of webbing slack can be left in the system leading to a poor webbing path over the occupant torso, and/or poor coupling between the upper torso of the occupant and the belt / vehicle. This may also change the dynamics between the webbing and crash locking tongue and lead to unexpected performance characteristics.
Unknown all outboard seatbelts are not retracting. When inspected further there are cracks in the plastic holding the seat belt up and they retract fine behind that. All 4 seat belts will need replaced to work properly.
I took my car in to have the 2nd row passenger seat belt buckle repaired last year 2022 and again this year the a seat belt buckle has to be replace. The car has only 32,700 mile and I am told by the dealership that the motor mounts are leaking and need to be replaced.

While on my way to an appointment it was raining and I noticed my car wasn't handling the water on the road like it usually did. It was pulling to one side or jumping around when it hit shallow water. I turned the traction control off and then back on and that seemed to make a difference. That night I got on NHTSA and searched for recalls with my VIN number. While other 2018 Durango's had recalls on the esp it said mine wasn't one on them. About a week later it had been storming all night and I was on my way to work the next morning when I come around a curve to deep flowing water covering the road for approx. 30 yards before a small break and then a thin flowing of water for approx. 20 feet which I didn't see because it was still raining. When I hit the deep water it pulled me towards the right ditch, I was able to keep from going in the ditch but it was a constant fight until I was through the puddle. After the first puddle let go of my vehicle there was just enough time for me to feel relieved I had made it through it before I hit the shallow water and my car hydroplaned darting left, entering the ditch, ramping the side of a driveway and going airborne between two trees before coming down on it's front end and sliding 30 feet to a stop. The emergency contact system spoke asking who to contact but none of my ice was displayed. Thankfully I was wearing my seatbelt although the tensioner didn't lock the belt in place like it should in the event of an accident. Also neither front airbag deployed, only the passenger side air curtain deployed. My passenger side mirror was hit by a mailbox as I ramped the driveway so I assumed that is why the side curtain deployed but the accident crushed and partially removed both my front and back bumper so my 2 front air bags should have deployed as well. An accident report was made and my insurance company ruled my car as a totaled. I told them what happened but I am not sure if the inspected the esp system or not.

One seatbelt failed completely, refused to retract. The other one is failing. The first is in the process of getting replaced and the second is inevitably going to fail. Somehow this vehicle is not covered under the extended protection regarding the seatbelt for the 2013-2015 Dodge Durangos and Jeep cherokees that had this problem. The dealers will not provide assistance and this a safety issue for me and my family.
Front passenger seat belt won’t retract. Rocker arms ticking. They were fixed 15 months ago and ticking again.
The seatbelt was pulled to fasten and it just kept coming out and finally locked and will not recoil so passenger seat belt is inoperable.

The passengers seatbelt no longer retracts . Have to pay oop to get it replaced seat was barely used and had my 17 year old sit in the seat who is lengthy and skinny the seatbelt no longer will go back in…. Not happy this should be included in the recall.
Car was parked and off when the passenger headrest airbag deployed. No one was in the vehicle during the incident. The driver and passenger seat belt guide are cracked.
#1 the word " air bag ! " notification would display on dashboard, #2 an "sos" message on radio screen. #3 red light on rearview mirror at or near emergency button. This would occur intermediately at start up, and or during driving at times. Vehicle was dropped off Wednesday, October 12, 2022 and is currently at "bill snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram" 16400 woodward Ave, highland park, mi 48203 where I was told that it has a seatbelt issue which can cause airbag issue, and due to safety concern, my vehicle will have to stay. .

Hello, I just had my two front seatbelts replaced because of the safety recall of the pretensioners. I also noticed that the 3rd row seatbelts are having the same issue the upper part that holds the seatbelt is cracked and seatbelts won't retract back in once my kids use them I need to manually feed them back in inch by inch until it all goes back in slowly.
My front passenger seat belt no longer functions properly. It doesn't retract, which means that it doesn't provide adequate protection to passengers in the front seat. I have not taken this to the dealer for inspection, however I have tried to fix this and am unable to get it to work properly.
Can not understand how a buckle can stop working being that it is a safety item required to be used and policed by every state there is nothing in the buckle it is just failed and does not buckle or clasp.
Seat belts do not retract without help.
Rear row seatbelt failed and no longer retracts. This happened at 60k miles with occasional use. Many users report seatbelt problems in the driver, passenger and second row which is currently covered under an extended warranty. However, the third row is not covered and made with the same defective parts.
I had a car accident with my child and the front seat belt passenger side locked up and we ended up having to cut her out of the seat belt because it wouldn't unhook.
Passenger side 3rd row seat belt does not retract. Both outboard seats in middle row must be manually retracted and drivers seat belt is becoming sluggish to retract and needs to be manually retracted at times.
Head rest deployed outside of “extended warranty “ its a safety hazard. This part should be total recalled. The rear passenger door latch gets stuck or pops open randomly. It will not close when this happens and it has come open upon locking and driving! again dangerous where children sit. This is with child lock on or off the problem continues. The third complaint is the seat belts will not retract in the front seat but the dealership requires me to pay a fee to have it assessed. This is a “recalled”issue but it isn't for my VIN these three things seem to all fall shortly after buying the vehicle within the last four yrs. Exact dates unknown.
