February 2,2018 Dodge Grand Caravan turned off and parked in drive way my daughter comes in and said the van sounds like it's still running went out and heard what she heard also check on this three times before going to bed( this noise came from the gas tank). The next day 02/03/2018 noise was not there anymore. I had schedule recall work to be perform on 02/05/2018 but re-schedule with service advisor for 02/06/2018 car would not start key stuck in ignition switch. Tow truck picked up 02/07/2018 took to dealership explain what happen I was told by the service advisor to expect a call on Friday 02/09/2018 call came dead battery(new battery 01/24/2018) and the tipm kit was needed. This vehicle 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan tipm should be listed as a recall. I started last year having starting concerns with this van not wanting to start.
Tipm had to be replaced due to electrical instability with the fuel system. Same tipm that was involved in the 2014 recall for the Dodge durango and Jeep grand cherokee. Vehicle would not start or would not stay running. No power to the fuel pump. New tipm was redesigned and had to have 5 pages of instructions to rewire the new tipm to fit in to vehicle.
For the last month I have been having trouble starting the van. Turn the key, radio and dash lights comes on but the vehicle will not start. Try several times and eventually it will start. Took van into repair shop and they replaced the battery; however, still having the unreliable starting issue. Took into a Dodge dealer and they said couldn't find anything. Starting to question if it is an issue with the tipm - this is the van I use to transport my children around, concerned when you read the additional issues if it is a defective tipm.
Car will not start, will crank but no turn over. It will only start if I bypass the fuel pump relay. This is an ongoing issue with Dodge/Chrysler and some vehicles have been recalled for this fault tipm but the caravan hasn't. This is a safety issue as the car will stall at any moment while driving if does start to begin with.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the vehicle would suddenly violently shake without warning. The contact would have to press the accelerator pedal with excessive pressure in order for the shaking to stop. The contact stated that when they would attempt to start the vehicle, the vehicle would fail to immediately start. The contact would have to make several attempts to start the vehicle in order for the vehicle to start as intended. Then contact stated that while driving at highway speeds the vehicle's service engine warning light would illuminate and the vehicle would stall. The contact then stated that when the stalling occured and they would attempt to start the vehicle, the vehicle would fail to start. The contact would have to let the vehicle coast to the side of the road and then have the vehicle towed. The contact stated the failure occurred several times. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump relay failed and needed to be replaced. The contact contacted the dealership (Jeep, Chrysler Dodge ram & fiat of ontario located at 1202 auto center dr, ontario, CA 91761 phone number 909-390-9898 ) in attempt to purchase the necessary part for repair, however, due to NHTSA campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system) the part was unable to be purchased. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Gl.
Totally integrated power module (tipm) failed. Engine would not start while car was stationary. Fuel pump relay within the tipm was malfunctioning, preventing power from getting to the fuel pump, therefore preventing proper operation of the fuel pump. I understand this problem can also manifest itself as either loss of power while driving, or a continual running of the fuel pump, even when vehicle is off (thereby draining the battery).
My automatic detector for windshield wipers is inop. My vehicle will not start up in the morning. Replaced numerous items and was told it was tipm which is a known issue searching throughout the internet.
The key fobs weren't working properly, and the car wouldn't start properly. It would crank well but not catch. Eventually I could persuade it to start. Klaben auto (kent, OH) replaced a key fob (+?) for $1114. 27, but the car still wouldn't start properly. When I took it back, they replaced the fuel pump, but this didn't address the problem. Then they replaced the tipm, which solved the problem with starting. , for an additional $697. 53.

Car will not start (nothing happening when turning key). Have to wait or play with accessories (not sure if it helps) but then car will start? also had problems with ventilation system -> air would be warm on passenger side even if it is on cold and vice-versa. It seems to go away after a few days. Can also hear ventilation traps moving sometime even if car is turned off and not running.

We have had our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan for 2 years and approximately 30,000 miles. We had to have the tipm replaced in July 2015. We have had several instances that required a tow as the vehicle would not start or stay running. The tipm burned the fuel pump out and that was the last straw. The tipm was replaced under the after market warranty that we paid for but what other damage could this part have caused to our vehicle? it controls everything the car does for the most part. Will there be an investigation of the Dodge tipm? there needs to be a recall for all vehicles affected which seems to be quite a lot.
Having continuing problems with the vehicle failing to start. I have been told it is the tipm. There are no recalls regarding this. I have been told it will cost upwards of 1500. 00 to fix it. Please make then issue a recall.
Vehicle would not start all the time. A few times it the engine stopped running while driving-no warning. Diagnosed as faulty tipm. Cost over $1000 to fix. Chrysler has recalled some vehicles but not the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Van would not start diffucult to start van would crank, happened to many times we have had several instance that required and tow as the vehicle would not start. I'm just research to internet the problem I'm just read similar complain and problem ,regards the van same my situation the tipm module defect . , I went to local mechanic just take a look the problem the mechanic said battery need to changes the key fod need the change and reset commputer,I'm spent around $800,00 dollar for everything and couples and months smell thing happened the van not start diffucult to start,I call a local dealership , I speak to service assosiates I told that if any recall tipm module but the guy said none , I'm afraid to drive the van stranded againt anytime just park to my parking lot couple week I don't have money to fix around$1200,00 the worst thing I'm still monthly payments to my van for nothing.
On thanksgiving morning 2014, me and my family went out to go to visit family for thanksgiving dinner, but the vehicle would not start. It would crank and crank, but never come close to turning over. The gas tank was full, the battery was fine, but clearly it wasn't getting gas. We obviously couldn't go anywhere. After using our other vehicle, we managed to make it to dinner (though obviously late). The next day, I had the car towed in, and several days later when the dealership finally had the time to analyze what was wrong, I was notified of the tipm problem. So far, it's been nearly a week and there is still no further news on when we can get it fixed. I've been told there are only 300 tipm's in the country and that they are unsure when they can get the part. Thus far, I've been told that it would be covered by my extended warranty, and that the part is "approximately" $700 and labor would be "about" $200, so I don't yet know what it'll cost. I do know that it will cost me $50 for the warranty deductible. While that is not a large amount, the more troubling issue is that I'm now paying for the loan and insurance on a vehicle that I cannot use for reasons that were entirely out of my control and for a period of time that is unknown.
Vehicle will not start and will stop while driving. Three different batteries have been drained to the point of going bad. Dodge service center has identified the problem as a faulty tipm (totally integrated power module).
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the engine failed to start. In addition, the contact stated that the driver side door interior panel caught fire. The dealer replaced the door and panel wires. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the initial failure. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to experience electrical failures with the rear door motor. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000.
Vehicle would not start and when it did it would run at a fast idle then it would go in to limp mode while driving on the road, leaving the vehicle with little to no power to move out of the way of traffic in the middle on an intersection when the vehicle went in to limp mode. Vehicle would lose all engine power while accelerating to speed at random times (making the vehicle bogs down) making the driver and any passengers get thrown forward and then be thrown back when engine power would come back. Vehicle was also giving me problems with the automatic side doors not opening and closing and the hvac system would come on by its self at random times. The dealer replaced the battery (that I had to pay for) stating that was the reason for all of the problems I was having. After getting vehicle back everything was good for a few days then went back to doing all of the same problems within a few day of getting vehicle back form dealer. Took vehicle back to dealer for the 2nd time and they replaced the pcm (2nd time the pcm had been replace since purchased 12/31/2011) & throttle body (that I had to pay the deductible). Vehicle was still having the same problems so I took it back to the dealer for the 3rd time within a 18 day period. The service advisor told me that I could be the tipm but they would have to see it act up before they could replace the part, dealer told me that the tipm was the cause of all the problems. The tipm was replaced (had to pay for partial of the cost) and everything was working again. I feel that even with the tipm replaced that I could still have gotten a poorly made part as a replacement. I feel at time while driving that some of the problems are starting all over again, like the sliding door not working and the hvac system turning on by its self. On 1/22/15 I had a fuel injector go bad and had to be replaced, maybe due to the tipm?.
