3 Starter problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2017

Own a Dodge gran caravab 2011 with 83000 miles, suddenly one day, started having issues when starting the car, troubleshoot everything, starter, changed relays, gas pump and nothing, took it to the mechanic and couldn't find anything, sometimes the car start and sometimes it doesn't. It cranks but it doesn't start. Checked on line and it looks like a lot of Dodge or Chrysler having same issue, fuel pump relay tipm is malfunctioning. This ahould be a recall already. I need to change the fuel box for $1000 or buy a bypass made for (wd) Dodge durango (wk) Jeep grand cherokee from recall safety recall r09 / NHTSA 15v-115 fuel pump relay. I am attaching recall for Dodge durango.

4 Starter problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2016

Began with airbag light on panel coming on and random locking and unlocking of doors and dying while traveling at various speeds. All these happen wether the vehicle is in motion or not. Then it would only start using the remote starter and now it only starts when jumped by another running vehicle, even when the battery is fully charged(tested). It will simply crank and crank till battery is dead(about 10 minutes) unless it is connected to another running vehicle. It will start even if battery is close to dead then.

5 Starter problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2016

Vehicle began having issues starting, intermittently at first, about 3-4 weeks ago. 4 days ago, vehicles battery was dead, wouldn't start for several attempts. Stalled twice while driving 60 mph continued to not start, battery, alternator, starter, wiring all checked out okay with local repair shop. The fuel pump relay in the tpim (total integrated power module) was bad, required whole tpim to be replaced.

6 Starter problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2016

Would not start on several occasions. Purchased new battery. Took it to local mechanic. Almost put in a new starter but researched it first on the internet. Seemed like it was a faulty tipm. Called local Chrysler dealer and told them the issues. After a week, they said I needed a new tipm ($1200) and would not cover the cost. Said that they did not know anything about a tipm recall. I did not get it replaced. Called Chrysler customer care and they said that I did not qualify for a recall. I have driven Chrysler Dodge caravans for over 25 years and I am greatly disappointed that they are not standing behind their product. They know that there is an issue with all the tipms in their vehicles and they only recalled certain makes and models. Meanwhile, I hold my breath every time I try to start my car. I am retired and cannot afford to replace that part for that price. I had this car as a company car starting in January of 2011 and purchased it from ari in July of 2014.

7 Starter problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

Power to the fuel pump. I have noticed that sometimes the vehicle will not start after the first try. Some times I have to turn the key to off then to run three times and then go to start. At that point the vehicle will start. I sometimes can't hear the fuel pump turn on when I go to start the car. I just keep turning the key off and on until I can hear the pump run. It always starts after I can hear the pump turn on. Another problem is every once in a while I will just hear a cling when going to start the vehicle but the starter doesn't turn over just cling. That has happened twice. I got the battery checked out by aaa the battery was just working great.

8 Starter problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2015

At first starting my Dodge Grand Caravan mainstreet was a headache. We would go out to start our caravan and it took about 20 to 30 cranks before it would turn over. It stopped cranking on Saturday December 5, 2015. We had to get it towed home. Mind you I work 2 jobs and had to be at my second job on Saturday at 2:30 pm. We got it towed and had a mechanic come out to look at it. He found that the starter had stopped. We took the starter to an auto parts store for them to check it. The starter had died. We purchased the starter and got it installed and our car still would not stay cranked. The mechanic tested all our fuses and our fuse pump and found that one of our fused(m25) that goes to the fuel pump was not getting enough power to it. Researching online I found that Dodge has a civil suit against them for the tipm(totally integrated power module). I have had to walk 2 hours to get to my second job. On some days I have to pay for a taxi(total cost at $46 dollars) that is more than I make a day at my second job. I go to see if there is a recall on my vehicle for the tipm and its not. What do you do? I need transportation. I pay a car note of $480. 00 a month and I can't afford to get this fixed. I will never purchase another Dodge. When all of this started my airbag lights popped on and my brake lights.

9 Starter problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2014

My van will try to start but it just keeps trying to turn over. I have to manually turn the key back off and wait, it usually takes about 3 times for it to actually start. It makes the clicking noise like its a starter or battery but both have been checked and are fine.

10 Starter problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2014

My van's air conditioning wasn't working so I took it into the dealer. . . When they gave it back I had cold air in the front but not in the back, I took it back again, they fixed the air for the front but then the fan wasn't working at all in the back vents, I took it back a 3 rd time finally it seemed fixed, since then I have lost control of using the buttons on my steering wheel, cruise control only works when it wants to, and my vehicle will turn over but has a hard time starting, they have changed out the starter messed with my wiring and changed out my battery, it still isn't fixed. Now my vents in the backseats are not blowing air again, they replaced the starter, the battery and still I am having all these problems. Could this have to do with a recall that hasn't been done on my vehicle? also I bought the van new and have had a few paint jobs to fix the rubbing of the side doors that cause my paint to rub off above the wheel wells, I finally gave up on having it fixed but I know this is an error on Chrysler's side as I can show you atleast two more Grand Caravan's same year with the same rubbed off paint because of side doors. Very disappointed in buying my first brand new caravan.
