Clock spring has failed (diagnosed by dealer). This is not covered under extended warranty. I feel that this is a safety issue that should be covered by the dealer. It appears that this is a somewhat common failure. Request that this matter be looked into as the cost of repair is somewhat high at $88. 06 for the part and 136. 80 for labor. While driving horn and cruise control stopped working. Took to dealer, and they said that clock spring needed to be replaced. Also, airbags won't deploy. Consumer was worried about this being a safety problem.
Vehicle was stopped and rear ended, neither airbag deployed. Damage so far $ 10000. 00, vehicle still at dealer. One person was injured in the accident.
While driving and making a left both air bags deployed without prior warning. Consumer said that this happened without hitting anything, they just deployed.

Front crash at 20 mph, vehicle hit another vehicle, and neither frontal airbag deployed.
While driving at 35 mph vehicle in front suddenly stopped and consumer rear ended the other vehicle. Front hood went under the other car, and none of the airbags deployed. Consumer has contacted dealer. Please provide any further information.

While driving at approximately 65 mph hit a coyote that had ran in front of vehicle . Only damage to vehicle was license plate holder, but most damage came from dual airbag deployment. Consumer felt that airbags were too sensitive , and should not have deployed. Also, driver sustained injuries.
Recall 02v293000 concerning air bag clock spring failure. The dealer was not required to repair vehicle with over 70,000 miles. . The consumer stated if it was a safety issue as Dodge had stated then it should not matter how many miles a vehicle has.
