While driving thru my neighborhood I had to slam on my brakes to avoid a car backing out of its driveway without them looking. My 2 year old along with her car seat came forward and she hit her head on the back of the drivers seat. I had just checked that her car seat was tight earlier. I believe this was a defect from the gen 3 seat belt. I feel either her own car seat or that of her brother next to her rubbed on the release button. Who knows how long I may have driven without her carseat being belted in if this incident hadn't happened. Something much worse could have happened on the highway. Dt.

My Dodge Grand Caravan has the gen-3 seatbelts. After seeing the investigation on abc news, I buckled up on my minivan and applied slight upward pressure on the belt and barely touched the red seat belt release button with the palm of my hand and the seat belt ejected. I proceeded to do the same with the rest of the seat belts because I have 2 children and would not like to be in an accident and have the seat belts eject because of something hitting the release button. I think if the palm of my hand released the belts, I really do not feel that my family is secure at all in the Grand Caravan. I have told CO-workers that also have these type of seat belts and are going to proceed with a complaint.

Belt keeps coming loose from the system, is expensive to replace all the time. I am sure that the manufacturer knows that this is a problem. What is the problem and is the manufacturer going to fix it? or do I get stuck for the repairs again?.
Design of seat belt assembly causes belt buckles to become dislodged when vehicle hits rough road.
Rear-most seat has a lever below it which allows you to adjust the front to back position to 3 different stops, when the seat is slid foward to the front-most stop, the outboard seat belts for that seat do not reach around the passengers on the left and right sides, middle belt is fine, consumer believes the original belts are incorrect, consumer was advised to call dealer and ask for seat belt extenders and after numerous calls and examining vehicle twice, consumer received belts.

Vehicle has gen3 seatbelts in the middle and back. This seatbelt is very easy to accidentally become unlatched, and does not pass the 30mm ball bearing test (I tried this at home). I have three children and am concerned about accidental release of these belts by carseats moving around, elbows, etc. I would like to have these belts replaced by the newer gen4 design.
We want NHTSA to do something about the gen 3 seat belts in our car. Hopefully, we will not experience a failure of this part, as others have, since we depend on these belts to protect our children. Please look into the abcnews report about these defective belts, ASAP, and do what it takes to keep our children safe.
