The passenger’s side rear (back row) seatbelt locking retractor will not retract. The seatbelt is not usable as it remains extended. The vehicle was not in an accident. Dodge said it's not covered under warranty or extended warranty purchased. $500 to replace seat belt buckle, drivers seat. Not safe to drive. Back heater blower turns on and off by itself.

Airbag light came on when started vehicle and never turned off. Took it in to dealer and was told it was my battery causing the light. Replaced the battery and they re-did the diagnostic and they told me the orc module is bad due to the battery. They said my battery was charging to 1000 volts and was only supposed to be 800volts. So now I am stuck with a bill for $631. I was told that the same year model had a recall for this reason and mine didn't qualify because it was made 23 days after the recal notice s07. The van is in the shop currently waiting on the part.

My problem with my car is that the driver and passenger airbags exploded without having a car or a car that crashed me I was driving my normal car and suddenly the air bags exploded. And the most unbelievable thing is that it is a factory fault because the day the airbags exploded they exploded I had no passenger next to me and the passenger airbag and seat belts all damaged and my passenger window is all broken. While my husband driving last week, October 4th 2019 to be exact, the drivers seatbelt came unlatched while the vehicle was in motion, we were on a straight road with minimal bumps or holes. Since this occurrence I have had multiple issues with the seatbelt coming unlatched or not latching at all, while in motion, going around curves, and while stationary. I have had this vehicle 3 months and this is the first time I have had this ongoing issue.

I had a minor collision where a car backed into me as I was driving forward at a slow rate of speed. Minor body damage to both cars. However, all of my front air bags deployed. Insurance, the estimator, everyone, is shocked they all deployed, or that any deployed considering how minor the collision was. My van, unbeknownst to me, had a knee airbag. The knee air bag exploded against my shins, causing extensive bruising, cuts, and gouges where the cover and casing shot out onto my legs like shrapnel. It felt like a bomb of sharp glass went off against my shins and knees, there was blood all over the place. I had to go to the er to get the wounds cleaned up and they're still trying to heal weeks later.

This has occurred now at least 12 times in the last year. The middle row seats. After fastening the seat belts, they unbuckle. I had car seats with children buckled and all a sudden they tell me it came unbuckled while driving and I have to stop and lock it again. In fact one time it wouldnt lock again and had to put them in the back row. I tested it myself and buckled them and pulled slightly on them and they came unbuckled without pressing the unbuckle button. This is a seriously dangerous problem in an accident with children in car seats that the belts come undone. It just happened yesterday again.

Seat belt does not click in and does not stay. It pops out at times. With seatbelt clicked in the van sometimes think that the drive is not buckled in so the worsening light flashes and makes sounds.

After going sideways into a very steep ditch, both driver and passenger front side airbag charges went off, but neither airbag deployed. The seat belt locked so tight that I couldn't reach the door handle or window switch, or unbuckle the seat belt to exit the vehicle.

Vehicle taken to a local Dodge dealer and we were told that vehicle needed a new seat belt system and the total cost was $759. 00 I asked if that faulty seat belt system was to be replaced under the warranty since vehicle was not even five years old nor more than 100k miles. Dealer explained that only warranty for seat belt malfunction was until 36k miles. I should not paid for a faulty seat belt and Dodge should have covered or check if a recall needs to be done.

The passenger side seat belt warning light turns on even when there is no one in that seat and the passenger side seat belt releases when there is someone in the seat! adults and older children have put the seat belt in place but the warning light stays on. While driving or sitting still, the seat belt will release at random, causing the passenger to have to click it into place again. When the passenger clicks the seat belt in place and pulls on it, it either stays in position or releases. If it stays in position, then while driving and or parked, the seat belt will suddenly release. When the driver had to step harder on the brake to avoid a driver who stopped suddenly, the seat belt released yet at other times, the seat belt remains in place. It doesn't matter whether or not the van is in gear or parked, or if we're stopped, moving, highway driving or city driving, the seat belt will release at random times. This had happened multiple times since we bought the vehicle, sometimes multiple times in one trip. Other times it doesn't happen at all. The date given is the most recent time that it released on its own. I had been parked and then was backing out of a parking space when my daughter's seat belt (passenger side) released on its own. I stopped and put the van in park then had her click in place again. We both pulled on it and since it didn't release, we continued our trip, praying that it wouldn't disconnect again while we were driving.

The middle bench seat is not wide enough to safely hold an infant car seat even though it has a latch system for the car seat. The infant car seat hangs off the seat and is not safely supported by the seat an Chrysler has no safe alternative to fix the safety issue. Also since it's a bench seat you cannot use the seatbelt that crosses the walkway for any car seat because this is also a safety issue that Chrysler does not have a resolution for. These issues are when the vehicle is stationary, and in motion on any city street or highway, turning, or traveling straight. Chrysler does not care if parents can safely secure a car seat of any kind in their vehicles. Instead they tell you to read the manual for the car seat and for the vehicle you purchased and that's it.

(np dealer info) tl the contact owned a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan. While the contact's wife was driving 45 mph, another vehicle traveling approximately 70 mph struck the rear of the contact's vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The front passenger seat (the contact's seat) separated from the seat track. The contact struck the side door and was thrown into the rear of the vehicle. The seat belt failed to restrain the contact and he was then struck by the seat. The contact sustained injuries to the neck and back. Three occupants in the other vehicle were also injured, as the front passenger's feet went through the windshield and two of the occupants suffered whiplash. Medical attention was required for all the injured occupants. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the contact's insurance company confirmed that the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

I bought this used and there are only shoulder seatbelts in the driver and passenger front. All the other seats have only lap belts. I cannot safely strap in my daughter in her booster seat. I asked Dodge and they can't tell if it was supposed to come with harness belts. The used car dealership doesn't either. I thought it was mandatory so I didn't check this when I bought it.

This is my 3 town & country Mini van. However the last two I've had issues with the seat belts getting caught up in the seat belt retraction system and eventually begin to tear. This has compromised the safety of my family. Our 2008 Mini van was within warranty when the problem occurred and therefore we were able to get it fixed. Now we have a 2016 town and country and at least 4 of the 7 seatbelts are fraying. . The fact that it's happening to nearly all the seat belts makes me think there's a design flaw.

The third row is un-useable to any passenger that is not in a high back booster, rearfacing restraint or is in a forward facing restraint system. A normal adult will have 2 or so inches of a gap from the seat belt to their shoulder/ collarbone and feet will most likely dangle. A passenger with a no high back booster (mine is 7yr, 42 in, and 42lbs) will have anywhere from 3. 5 inches from collarbone to seat belt, with seatbelt at an angle down to the buckle. The gap goes from 3. 5 to being sideways on the body. It will not lay flesh with the body all the way down to the buckle. This can cause ejection from the car upon impact, strangulation is child tries playing with it or in accident. This can also cause sever head whiplash, neck whiplash, cutting of the stomach or other area fro a locked seatbelt that is not laying flat. Upon, any of severe injuries. I have contacted Dodge about this and was told to go to a dealership. The dealership will not help me and will tell me to buy a new vehicle putting this van on the market for the next buyer who may no be educated in vehicle safety. This vehicle was stationary when this defect was found.
