The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving in severe rainy conditions, the windshield wipers would operate intermittently until finally they failed completely. The driver was able to reach his destination without a crash. She contacted the manufacturer. She was advised that her vehicle identification number was excluded from recall campaign id number 06v067000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer:motor). No repairs were made. The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the windshield wipers have failed intermittently for three months. Visibility is impaired during rainy conditions. The contact stated that the headlights have failed since the vehicle was purchased. He stated that the plastic lens is frosting and turning yellow from oxidizing, causing poor illumination at night. At 3851 miles on my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, the motor on the windshield wipers suddenly stopped working, in the middle of a torrential downpour, which was immediately followed by a burning electrical smell. I was able to, very slowly and carefully, drive the car back home.

While driving in inclement weather the windshield wipers came on and off on their own intermittently. Dealer was aware of the problem.

Without any indication windshield wipers stopped functioning regardless the time of usage.

Windshield wipers are uncontrollable. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they will not turn off. Sometimes the intermittent function doesn't work. This is a serious distraction and also a big hazard in the rain.

Windshield wipers will come on atleast 3 times in the distance of 1 mile. Problem has exisited since 1999 but has gotten steadily worse. Seems to be sensitive to vibration on the turn signal. Problem has occured with vehicle idling in driveway.

The windshield wipers stopped working. The dealer said it was the bcm module. They would replace it with a rebuilt module because Dodge did not make the part anymore. The part has failed again, now the wipers don't stop coming on on their own. The dealer said we would have to replace it again. I believe the part is defective and should be replaced by the manufacturer. The dealer kept the van for 3 weeks to fix it. They refused to give a copy of the work order. I wanted to know why it took so long to find the problem and fix it. They would not give me any information.

Intermittently windshield wipers become inoperable when windshield wipers are activated and they cut off. Also, when vehicle is first started they come on automatically, obstructing the view of the driver. Dealer has inspected and repaired vehicle several times, but problem still exists.

Consumer states that the windshield wipers come on intermittently, the switch was replaced once at consumers cost, however wipers continue to come on while making turns, in cold weather, and occasionally in the summer for no reason, possible wiper motor failure.
