Rear window shattered while parked overnight in a locked garage. No impact, temperature above freezing.

We had a snow storm on 2/6/10. After the snow fall my husband moved our 2006 Grand Caravan sxt from the driveway to the street to clean the driveway. While talking to a neighbor the rear glass popped and shattered into a million pieces. There were no cars that passed and may have kicked up debris causing this incident. Also the glass was clear of snow and ice. The only thing I can think of is that the car was parked in the shade and then my husband parked it in the sun. Perhaps the cold weather caused this? I called Dodge to see if there was a recall but there was none.

While driving my driver side sliding door on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan sxt shattered. This is the second time in 1. 5 years that the side door glass shattered while driving. The first incident was December 20, 2006 and the passenger door glass shattered. Both times while driving for no apparent reason. I called Chrysler who said they have never heard of this and offered 2 reasons, 1) sudden change in temperature (neither time was there a drastic change in temperature) and the second reason given was possibly a scratch on the glass if I had scrapped them for some reason. They also informed me that my van was out of warranty. I knew that and glass is not covered under warranty any way. It seems more than a coincidence that 2 separate pieces of original factory glass on separate doors would shatter in this way. I always use the automatic opener and closer and very rarely is the door manually opened or closed (either doors). It is a safety hazard as this vehicle is purchased by many people with medium to large families and carry children. When the glass shatters and you need to continue driving until you can get the glass secured people or children that may be inside will have glass all over them. In short Chrysler refused to pay for any replacement glass or acknowledge it could be an issue and to my knowledge is not being investigated by Chrysler/Dodge for a possible design flaw either or defect in glass.

My husband was driving our 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan on the highway when the driver's-side, rear window blew into the car. It concerns us because, as a parent, one of my children could have been sitting in the third row and would have been seriously injured. Thankfully it did not cause an accident to which the actual cause (of a "broken window") would have never been realized. I am not sure whether this is a safety defect or an anomaly, but I would like my complaint to be recorded based upon these concerns. The window was replaced, and is not available as the window shattered.

For the second time this year a window has exploded on my 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan. I was driving down the road at posted speed, light traffic, sunny day, windows down, and pop, the passenger slider window shattered. It looked like it popped from the inside of the van. I was fortunate enough to pull over and was able to stop safely. Once I stopped the window just fell out. I called Chrysler customer service line and was advised by ms. J to proceed to the dealer that I had purchased the car from to have the vehicle inspected. I went to the dealer the following morning, and the service manager refused to even look at the window. I explained that this was the second incident this year where a window has exploded, and he told me since he didn't see the first one there was nothing he could do. No documentation, not even a drive in the car. Now in addition to the problem with the windows, the van has a front end problem, a rear end problem, and a transmission problem. The front tires feel like they are falling off the van while driving, when turning right the rear end feels like it is tilting and the left tire squeals, and the car shifts improperly, or hesitates in traffic.

My wife was getting ready to pick up my daughter from school on Jan. 14,2005. As she closed the front driver's side door on our 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, the rear (hatch) window shattered into a million pieces, and started to fall out.
