4 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

My 2009 Dodge Journey has less than 18000 miles on it, I drive a total of 9-10 miles both ways to work. I've had to replace the brakes twice for rusting out. Peeved at the tech's comment "you don't drive it enough" as if I am stupid woman. In 2010 I ask for my tires to be checked cause they were constantly low, looking at my invoice from 1/18/10 I asked for them to be checked and all they did was correct pressure. Now I hear about these stems prematurely cracking and after just buying my first replacement set of tires was told, 3 of the stems are cracked and they (tire dealer, not car dealer) couldn't replace cause they have some sensor chip in them. In addition, the tires would consistently lose pressure until the stems are replaced.

5 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2013

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the rotors, calipers, transfer case, and front passenger seat sensor caught fire, the vehicle also experienced a loss of power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician diagnosed that the brake rotors and the brake caliper were defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also had the vehicle repaired at the dealer for the transfer case malfunction. Upon inspection for the seat sensor failure, the contact noticed that a rubber boot was not installed, which resulted in the insulation igniting. The contact extinguished the flames and placed electrical tape at the end of the wire. The vehicle was able to be restarted after numerous attempts. The tire sensor also malfunctioned, which resulted in the tire constantly going flat. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14373000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 34,903.

6 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2011

Parking sensor in transmission that sends a signal that car is in park not working I properly may be a huge issue because when you are in drive and sitting it gets stuck in park. Then takes off no warning. If me o our anyone in my family is injured I will be the one to help settle a law suit with Chrysler. I spoke of this problem to the dealer while it was under warranty the rep. Said I had to leave my car there till the problem duplicates. This is a expensive car and my only transportation which is why I had the warranty . The other issue is when sitting at the light the breaks slip causing the vehicle to lunge forward. This is even after replacing the brakes at the dealership the vehicle is a money pit. The consumer takes the bill or could lose their life messing with Chrysler.

7 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2011

Passenger rear tire kept losing air. The goodyear service garage broke the tire down and cleaned up seal area and I noticed it still leaked air a week later. The sensor came back on. . I put air in tire and it lasted another week took it back to service garage. They discovered the stem with the sensor had a crack in it. If it wasn't under warrenty it would cost $40-$60 to replace. That's a lot of money for a valve stem. This sensor is a waste of money. Look at your tires save money. While the service center fixed that they saw my front brake pads worn down to almost nothing and the rotors almost completly shot. Having only 16,500 miles on my Journey I feel a sensor would have helped for this $360 repair job. I get a new but barley legal rotor you sell for new. Can;t even turn them down any more. Having to replace them with only 16,500 miles it a bunch of --ap!! where's my warrenty on this. Just send me my $360 and we'll call it even. The say driving a safe automobile is top priority. Let's fix these rotors.

8 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2010

When I bought my car in 2009. I noticed that my brakes squeaked when I stop I took it back to the dealership, I was told that nothing was wrong. Keep complaining all the time, then the vibration started and I needed rotors and brakes. The aftermarket brakes doesn't fit had to replace them with the dealership brakes. Had to replace a two tire sensors. Had to have my rotors resurfaced will need new rotors. Recently the engine coolant overheating light came on. The fan stop working its electrical the mechanic can't figure out why it stop. My car sometimes doesn't start, took it to a mechanic. No reason why. When my air is on it takes the car longer to gain speed on the highway. I contacted the dealership where I purchased it and Dodge. Both were rude and didn't offer any help. I purchased the extended warranty and it didn't cover anything.
