Car will start and turn off multiple times. While driving down the road car will turn off of keys are moving too much. If you move the keys car will sometimes turn back on, otherwise you have to restart the car.
While driving, all electrical goes out or flickers. The car will sometimes lose power on acceleration above 20mph regardless if turning, on highway or neighborhood roads. This has happen a few times since last month and thought it was my battery. I exchanged the battery and the issue wasnt resolved.
Car randomly will not crank wait a while then finally starts seems to happen more if the car has been off for a short period vs a longer period. I have replaced neutral safety switch, ground cable, tipm, ecm, key fob still no crank randomly.
The vehicle shut off at intersection and would not turn back on tried to jump start it no noise when turning the key.
My vehicle will randomly not start. I turn the key in the ignition and the lights and radio come on, but it only clicks and doesn't start. Then I attempt to start it again and it will magically start. This intermittent starting has no rhyme or reason and has left me stranded with my little girl. No mechanic or repair shop can figure out what is wrong.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving 5 to 10 mph, the vehicle stalled when approaching a speed dump. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle resumed normal operation after the vehicle was turned off and restarted. The contact also mentioned that on a different occasion, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to local dealer bill snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram located at 16400 woodward Ave, highland park, mi 48203, where it was diagnosed that the ignition key needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system, air bags). The manufacturer had been informed of failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Symptoms of 14v373000 experienced while driving. Depowered car while in motion on a city street (35 mph) as if key had been switched out of run position, causing severe loss of control (power steering, brakes, etc. ).
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the throttle warning light would flash on the instrument panel as the vehicle would either stall or go into limp mode. The contact also stated that the vehicle would fail to start up after multiple attempts without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the ecu, suspension, and several various electrical components were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
My Journey shuts off while driving. I will be driving and then vehicle will just shut off and I lose brakes and power steering. But vehicle will start back up.
The electrical system will shut completely down while driving the car. The wind shield wipers will come on by itself, you will not be able to turn them off. The cooling and heating system will shut down. During this time, you cannot use your power windows. Every warning will come on. This car is a nightmare.
When trying to start the vehicle, it will not start . It just clicks and the lights a and everything else works, it just will not turn over and start.
Intermittent problems with the car starting, lights will flicker and car will make clicking noise after the initial flicker. The car could take anywhere from a few minutes to 1 or 2 hours to start. While driving the car will start to shake and then shut off when slowing down or coming to a stop (red light or stop sign). The car sometimes won't start up or will immediately shut off again while in the middle of a city street. This is a safety hazard because we have toddler and soon to be newborn who will almost always be in the car.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that after the vehicle had been running/driven for a while, it would not restart after it was parked. The contact stated that the failure occurred for approximately two weeks. The vehicle would be unable to restart until the following day. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who suggested that it could be an electrical or key failure. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle turns off while driving even on the highway. Very dangerous other vehicles have a recall on this issue just not my VIN. The engine has had a knock on it even after being serviced.
Alarm keeps going off.
The headlights have stopped working. Fuses are good and bulbs are good.
The car would not shut off, without warning, it shut off in the middle of traffic on a city street. It started up and I was able to drive it to the dealership I purchased it from, they had to remove the gas fuse to stop it from running.
Vehicle randomly will not start. Brakes go stiff. All lights radio etc works, car just refuses to start (it is not even attempting to start) after a few hours car will start.
When inserting the key fob in the ignition sometimes, the car makes a clicking sound & won't start. To get the car to start when this occurs, you have to put the car in neutral, put your foot on the brake & turn the key fob & it finally starts - ridiculous. The key fob was replaced when we received the recall notice. Awhile ago. Recall notice #11v-139. This issue is very annoying & needs to be rectified.
Car will not turn on. One day it urns on fine next day wont turn on.
Windshield wipers come on and off as they please. Lights go on and off whenever. Car will not turn over as it sees fit. Everything electrical has gone haywire.
I have taken it gotten it fix so many times the light will stay off for a week then the check engine lights keep coming on saying the same thing over and over. Then it will add more things that is wrong. It will cut off while driving all the lights come on. I won't get on freeway scared it will just cut off.
2010 Dodge Journey - won't start - electrical issues - battery is good but won't crank - tried different key - lot's of problems with these cars.
Passenger side heat does not work. Only blows out cold air in all vents, defrost, front and feet. Causes windows to fog up and bad visibility and also does not keep you warm. Also at times it will not allow you to change the heat controls such as from defrost to front or feet. Happens no matter if car is parked or driving. The colder out is is the worse the problem. Huge safety issue living in minnesota. Also serched google and there were 100's of the same complaints in Dodge Journeys all different years.
As a Dodge owner I been having problems with the ignition or the ignition key. The car does not start immediately like you would expect it in a normal way to get it to start. Starts when it feels like it. There have been times that I have to wait for more than an hour or get a jump star form a good samaritan, but it will not respond with a jump either. It has been frustrated for the last 2 years. I took it back to the place I bought it from and it was an in and out of the shop for about a couple months and the problems was never resolved. Now days it just dies and I have to jump start it and works for a day, then stops again. . . . . . It is soooo frustrated. For the last couple month my car has been in and out of the shop and the problem is the same. Some told me recently to check for any recalls.
Kbb shows ignition recall on the 2010 Dodge Journey my vehicle randomly shuts off while driving with no other issues. Some days it does fine. Could be a couple weeks and then will randomly shut off making it very unsafe for a family vehicle. Dodge dealership says there no open recall on the vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The tipm is starting to fail (which apparently Dodge knew about but will not fix due to lack of reports) fuses and relays are starting to blow causing all kinds of electrical issues. The tipm for the car is typically 500-1000 dollars which is a lot to spend to fix on a car that the manufacturer knew would eventually happen. Do not ever buy this vehicle. Worst car to own!! ever!!.
Starting issues.
While driving on interstate 5 and some city streets the ignition will turn off after hitting small bumps. Ignition does restart by itself while driving down the road.
My car won't start intermittently and often dies and often in a dangerous intersection. I have my grandchildren with me and it is very dangerous when the care suddenly dies with no warning in the middle of an intersection. Also, I can turn the car off and it may or may not start, then suddenness for no reason starts. This concerns me as I live in austin texas and I am concerned about being on a toll or freeway and having an accident because the care suddenly dies. We have checked everything and according to the hundreds of forums the tipm is the problem, but Dodge refuses to fix or recall this problem even though it is happening to so many folks. These cars are often used to haul children around and my concern is that one day soon someone is going to be killed due to this problem.
The car turns off in the middle of driving, one time I was stopped at a red light second time making a right turn. Lose power steering can't turn the wheel this has happened twice now in the last two months. This is very dangerous. No warning no indicators come on. Feel very unsafe!.
The car randomly honks on it's own during driving and parked on the side of the street.
Car continuously honks on its own. While driving and while off.
