The vehicles battery drains overnight with nothing left on. The horn goes off on its own weather the vehicles is in motion or parked. The vehicles cut off in the middle of the freeway and mechanic guy can not find anything wrong. I have seen many complaints from customers with same problem on other platforms online.
Tamara recall- my horn randomly honks while I'm driving, sitting at a red light, and while it's parked. The beep will last as long as 5-10 seconds. All times of the day. Yesterday 2/15/19 replaced thepart# p/n 4692305ai power module inv# 11491 and it still honks randomly today 2/16/19. It's very dangerous now days and I live in the city. This has happened numerous times in the last month a before the repair. And numerous times 6 months ago. Then I went to a dealership and had my remote tested it was fine. The honking happened a few more times then stopped until a month ago. Today 2/16/19 is the start of the third series of this problem.
Cars horn starts beeping whenever it wants. Traction control goes off whenever it wants keeping us from getting car in drive. Lost power to everything when driving down highway. Return line of power steering pump has ruptured 6 times in the last year. It just did it again 1-20-2019. The last rupture wasted the pump.
Horn consistently blowing while car is turn off sitting stationary, while driving all hours of day and night. Took horn fuses out to stop horn from blowing. As soon as we put fuses back in horn starts blowing as if the car is possessed. Horn blowing on own while driving down city streets, highways and stationary. Noticed head lights flashing as if alarm going off. Clicking noise as if electrical wires are touching coming from fuse box area. Draining battery had to replace battery within 6 months of purchase. Changed the car engine computer cause that went out,not sure if that's a result of this issue. There are a huge number of complaints about the same or similar problems if you google it. Took to several independent mechanics no one can detect the issue. Apparently the Dodge dealerships can't detect problem either according to the complaints I've read on google. Please help us this problem is annoying! to many complaints about the same issue and no one can detect the problem! there need to be a recall! I'm afraid my car is going to catch on fire! problem started in 2017 and has been going on for about 2-3 yrs now off and on. Horn blew on its own when put fuses back in as late as today. 01/05\19.
Horn randomly goes off while sitting and driving. Doesn't matter if the car is running or not! creates a major distraction for everyone on the road and could result in accidents and/or road rage incidents while at a traffic light or stop sign!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the electrical system was malfunctioning. The contact had to replace two batteries in the last month. The horn unexpectedly would start blowing along with the windshield wipers starting up. The contact took the fuse out of both to stop them from continuously going on and off. . An unknown dealer set a diagnostic appointment for next week. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 167,846 . Tf.
Dash makes clicking noises, the horn goes off by itself, I could be driving or just sitting still, this has been going on for about 2 years, took it in twice to have it checked, they all are confused as why this is happening.
November 20, 2018 \ horn for my 2010 Dodge Journey se has been going off by itself repeatedly over the past 2 years. Happens without warning and at all times of the day and night goes off while parked in my driveway and while going down main streets and highways. Length of time it goes off varies. This has drained my battery and has on occasion, has completely disabled my horn. Local Dodge dealer, interstate Dodge, west monroe, la, said they found no problem with the horn when I took it in for service. However, it still goes off without notice. Most recently today, 11\20\2018. It finally stopped when I turned the ignition to "acc". Am seriously concerned the entire electrical system of my 2010 Dodge Journey se is at risk. This car could "die" on me in traffic.
I was picking up my kids from school and my horn kept going off. It went of all the way home I had to disconnect the battery because it wouldn't stop. Even after it was turned off and parked.
While driving the horn on the vehicle blows for no apparent reason. We removed the horn fuses and it did stop, but once put back in the horn blows continuously while driving.
It started with a window not going up, then the electrical wires to the front left headliggt burned out and melted the bulb connector. Bulb connector was replaced and it happened again. Keyless entry fobs stopped working, batteries were changed and fobs were tested but they still don't work. Alarm goes off at random times and takes us starting and moving the car 50 feet to turn it off. The other night the car horn went off in the middle of the night randomly, about 12 times. Now the hornnis going off as we drive for no reason. This car ckearly has electrical issues. Electrical parts keep burning out causing me to change them for reinspection time by the state.
About a week ago my horn started going off while I was driving to work in the morning it was so out of the blue that I didn't even realize it was me right away, I was able to pull of the road, tapped the horn a couple of times thinking it might have just got stuck after a couple minutes it just stopped I thought it was just a one time freak incident so I paid it no mind until 4am this morning while it was parked in the driveway once again my horn just start going again for like 3 or 4 minutes then it would stopped and start again it did this about 4 times waking my neighbors. When the sun came up I was finally able to figure out which fuses to pull to disconnect the horn and while searching to find this out I saw that many other Dodge Journey owners have had the same problem. There need to be some kind of recall I can't drive without a horn thats a safety hazard but with the world we live in now I also can't have a horn just going off at any time in traffic some people might think you are blowing at them. This is a issue Dodge needs to address and fix.

Horn has been going off randomly. It has gone off while sitting, locked and unlocked, parked in the driveway as well as in the garage. It has gone off in all types of weather, hot, cold and rain or shine. It has also gone off while driving. I have look for and not seen any lights or indicators flashing or going off while the horn was honking and have only been able to stop it by removing the fuses. I reinstall the fuses and it may go a day, a week or more before it does it again. Sam leman Chrysler Jeep ram fiat morton has been very helpful in trying to repair this issue but it is getting very costly. Recently tried to allow a relative to take a driving test to obtain their drivers license but the car will not pass the safety inspection without a horn. Driving without a horn is a safety issue and is an issue on numerous Chrysler cars and in my opinion Chrysler needs to resolve this issue. At this time I put the fuses in when we drive it hoping the horn will not go off while driving and then remove the fuses when we park it.
My 2010 Dodge joruneys horn goes off all on its own. When its parked, in the middle of the night and also when I am driving. Sometimes it will go on for a few minutes to where I have to pull the fuses to get it to stop. Also the car wont always start, I have to push the brake and put it in n in order to get it to start. There are times jm at a redlight or in traffic and it will just shut off and not turn back on. It clicks but will not start. Sometimes it takes multiple times to get it to start. Ive taken it to the shop to try to get all this fixed and they cant seem to find the cause of eaither problem. Its embarassing when your driving down the road and your horn starts beeping and people in front of you start getting mad. Also dangerous when it just shuts off and wont start back up.
My vehicle's horn sounds intermittently while stationary, in motion and whether the engine is running or not. It sounds on city streets as well as highways. I had my vehicle in the dealership sevice 4 times for this issue. A repair was attempted to change the fusebox but that didn't resolve the issue. I took it back to the dealership after the failed repair and I was told they couldn't recreate the issue so there was no service they could provide. The blowing has created incidents of road rage while I was driving and on a separate incident startled a driver who was waiting for pedestrian to cross the street causing them to almost hit the pedestrian because my car strarted blowing violently at them. This issue is a risk to my and my family's safety. I contacted Chrysler service center and was also told the dealership had to be able to recreate the issue. It's a timing issue and the vehclie's malfunction is unpredictable. I need help resolving this safety hazzard. I have been told that warped clock springs may be the issue but it is unknown to me.
My 2010 Dodge Journey sxt is experiencing major electrical problems due to the horn honking on it's own as if it were possessed! it occurs while driving as well as when parked overnight. I had it serviced several months ago when problem started and dealer changed clock spring stating it was fixed. Well the problem reoccured and now it has drained the battery completely dead several time to the point of needing a new battery. After jump starting car and leaving it idle for 30 min. To charge system I tried to drive it in for service but the car wouldn't shift correctly, making it impossible to drive to service station. This is a dangerous problem that I have never experienced with any other vehicle I've owned. This is also a common occurrence among thousands of Dodge Journey owners found on internet tech assist sights. The Dodge manufacturer service rep. Advised me to file a complaint due to extended coverage being out of date. Please advise on what my legal options are here in new york.
Horn starts sounding when car is parked in the garage and engine is off. This has happened 3 or more times over the last 2 weeks.
The horn blows by itself, while driving and while sitting in the garage unoccupied. It has shut off while driving in heavy traffic and I had to put it in neutral to restart it. The aur bag light has come on and apparently in the words of my mechanic "I can't find anything wrong with it". The air and heat stopped working in the back of the vehicle last year. The check engine light goes on and off. I've had it towed to the shop twice because it would not start, just to be told it cranked right up once at the shop and again "I can't find anything wrong with it". It doesn't accelerate like it's supposed to when taking off, jerks and lags, and once accelerated it continues to jerk and lag.
1st for no reason the horn goes off, I had to pull the fusees so I can keep my neighbors I'm driving around with no horn at this time. 2nd heater core was only heating one side of the car, 3rd passenger seat belt locks up the moment car starts.
Horn/alarm goes off randomly and intermittently. No pattern to the beeping. Nothing causes it- happens while the car is locked, unlocked, parked, driving. Cannot be replicated at the dealer. Had to pull the fuses, now I have no horn. Has been happening for several years. Multiple trips to the dealership with no resolution.
The horn keeps going off on its own and I've taken it to the dealership many times and they still haven't fixed it and I've done research and it also has something to do with the airbag deteriorating.
Horn began to randomly honk while off, unoccupied. Continued to randomly honk when driven also.
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey 81,000 miles & had it about 1 year. Over the past 6 months I have bought 6 batteries because my car would fail to start. My front wipers would randomly move when the care was parked and no one in it then my back wipers would do the same. The Dodge ram light on my dashboard would come on randomly when the care was parked and key was not in the ignition. Finally took it to the Dodge dealership in Feb, they replaced the battery, kept the care for over a week, called me and stated that the car had a battery drainage problem but when on the diagnostic test, the problem wouldn't show its face long enough for the mechanic to track down the problem. They also stated the reason my horn didn't work was because someone took out the fuse. When they put the fuse back in, my horn would randomly go off no matter if it was parked or if I was driving it. I took the car back home and sure enough, less than a week later, same issue. They kept the car for another 2 weeks, same outcome! could not track down the issue. A week after I got the car back, I was driving and as I pressed the gas, my car wouldn't accelerate!! I was in 5pm traffic with 2 kids, almost caused a wreck trying to get over to a parking lot. My steering wheel would hardly move! had to have the car towed again to the Dodge dealership. I have asked again and again if it was the tipm but I get nowhere!!!! this car is possessed and Dodge seems to not care enough to fix the problem or find it for that matter. I dont feel safe driving it (I cant at the moment because they have to fix the fuel pump which is ran by what. . . . You guessed it the tipm)! I never know if the car is going to start from moment to moment nor do I know if im going to be stranded on the side of the road with my children. Again! a car should not have this may issues and the dealership not knowing or acknowledging the problem!.
The horn honks on it's own and will not shut off. The horn will start to honk while driving.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the horn would erroniously activate. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent and would randomly occur. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000. Jft.
While driving my Dodge Journey the horn began to blow extensively. I was not manually blowing the horn. The horn began to blow on it's own, then it would stop for approximately 3 minutes, then start again. Next day, it did the same but with different time intervals. It was blowing intermittently. When I was home, while the car was parked and locked, the horn began to blow again. I finally had to take fuses out. I'm now driving without a horn, I carry a purchased horn in the car. Online there are hundreds of complaints about this issue and make of car. The fix is pricey! people are not aware that they should come to this site to initiate a recall so that the manufacturer will aide us with repair. Please help us.
The horn beeps at random times when im not driving and even while driving. My windows come down on their own at random times and sometimes it wont start.
Left and right horn activated at random while driving and parked, night and/or day. Dealership can not pin point the problem. Several complaints on this problem all over the internet.
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey bought it a week ago with 108k miles after I brought it home horn would go off by itself had to pull the fuses out to get it to stop and now recently when trying to accelerate the rpm will go to 5000 at a speed of 40 mph and won't shift and it will cost me a fortune to get it diagnosed and repaired.
While parked, locked and unattended the horn kept honking and would not stop. Had to remove fuses 22 and 23. Other people have reported this same problem for this same type of vehicle and they have not had any resolution. A horn is required to drive incase of emergency to avoid collisions. It is criminal that Dodge will not address this dangerous problem. Help is need here, please. Https://dodgeforum. Com/forum/Dodge-journey/375847-2010-journey-with-honking-issue-4. Html.
1st thing was the horn, randomly honking at all hours of the day of night. It had stopped. . . . For now. . . . But now my car is not starting. For some reason it won't turn over, I can turn key to let it do it's emission test before starting then turning key to start, it just clicks and doesn't start. Car has done it at grocery store, daycare, work, even shut off by itself while stopped at a red light.
