1 Brake Squeaking Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 04/03/2017

Bought 2009 Dodge Journey new. With only 12,143 miles (19. 818 km) I had to have rotors and brakes replaced due to them rusting out. This was done in germany by a Dodge dealer. A policy adjustment was made. Then with only 27,000 miles on the vehicle I had to replace the brake pads and the rotors needed to be turned. Then with 43,148 miles I had to once again replace all brake pads, front rotors and the rear rotors were able to be machined. This is the work I had done at san diego Dodge dealer. When I had the work done in may 2016 I took the vehicle back in Aug 2016 due to a squeaking noise coming when brakes applied. Was told it was from new brakes and I should just pump them and it should go away. I tried to do this but noise remained so I took vehicle back in Nov 2016 and was told that the brakes were "dirty" and they could clean them for $134 or I could once again pump them and it should stop. I tried again their recommendation and then decided to take for second opinion so took to perry's Dodge in national city, CA on 3 April 2017 and was informed that I the vehicle needed all four brakes and the rear rotor needed replaced with the front rotor needing machined. I would think that for a vehicle having only 53,000 miles and having 4 brake jobs and now needing another one that something is wrong. I contacted Dodge customer service rep (royal) who basically said that according to the san diego Dodge dealership that this is normal wear and tear but they did open email case number: 3336076 and reference number: 29272328. I have read many reviews that basically say that the 2009 and 2010 Dodge Journey's brake system were not made to hold the weight of the vehicle. Dodge will not claim this error and so us who bought this vehicle when it first came out are stuck with performing brake jobs every 10,000 miles.

2 Brake Squeaking Noise problem of the 2011 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 03/14/2017

Electric:my lights keep going out since purchase under 1yr. . ,replace fuses 4times in 6mths. . My truck locked up with ignition start key remote in car an almost locked my son 6yr. Old in car. . . Had to call aaa for lockout service safety concern and Dodge did safety check an stated no concerns. . . ,also stockton Nissan purchased all 4new tires an did brakes an drums under warranty of safety from purchase an both went bad under 5mths of work order history an they refuse to do any checks on this vehicle,. . My passenger tire split, and right now when I drive there's a loud, squeaky noise with vibration when hitting brakes while driving. . . Stockton Dodge wanted to charge me 480$ just to diagnose recommend I take back to purchase dealer(stockton Nissan) and they should send it to Dodge but lisa, and amanda mathews would not take the vehicle at Nissan. . . Stated gary bishop says do not take this vehicle for any reason. . . I don't understand why if I pay for extended warranty coverage over $3000 to stockton Nissan and they were the ones who supposedly did the work that's unsatisfactory an cause defects an safety issues an concerns. . . I also called Nissan corp/lithia and was told about lithia/Nissan&first extended warranty coverage policies in middle of a big change so it limited my vehicle being repaired over 130???miles of home range an I'm a partial paraplegic. . Also stockton sold me this vehicle an extended warranty knowing my disability an safety concerns for myself an 5young kids. . This is unacceptable an unsafe for any dealership with purchase of a vehicle and in complaint of safety concerns repeatedly an for the customer to be prolonged stating they can trade it back but wanna do it as another purchase with more $$ down ,credit check again, an same process as new purchase. . Stockton Nissan with held information viable from the extended warranty purchase contract due to changes. .

3 Brake Squeaking Noise problem of the 2010 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 11/12/2012

Squeaking noise while driving. Was told by dealership it is the rear brakes. They are at 10% and the rotors are too thin to be machined. Called Chrysler because they are only under warranty for 12,000 miles and they will not help out. I have never had a vehicle need rear brakes before 80,000 miles and then not being able to machine the rotors because they are too thin. . . I only have 35000 miles. I have also had to have the front brakes replaced at 21000 miles because the rotors are warped ( Chrysler covered the repair because it is a problem with many Journeys and the extended the warranty to 36000 miles. My brakes are again pulsating but I have to replace the rears before they will check the fronts).

8 Brake Squeaking Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

I purchased my 2009 Dodge Journey in may 2008 -- at 17,000 miles and 2 years later I have been told that my front brakes are totally worn and rotors can not be turned and need to be replaced. I received no warning of the braking failure other than one day grinding and squeaking noises while I drive. I took my car to the shop that day !!! how can a braking system go bad in one day with no warning? I've been told by Chrysler that this is normal wear and it was not covered . . . How can a braking system fail in 2 years !!! when I mentioned the numerous posts from consumers about the same problem. They offered no other explanation other than "they must be using soft pads . . . But we still do not cover this under the warranty. ".
