The car has 40k miles on it with the extended power train warranty. On [xxx], I drove into phoenix, az 35 minute drive from my home in buckeye, az. As I turned down a road, I heard a "klink" and the engine only reved in both drive and reverse. I turned off the car and pushed it to a nearby parking lot. I was able to call my insurance company and have it towed to larry h. Miller avondale Dodge. I awaited for the service advisor to call me and when mark did call, it was to inform me the computer could not read my car due to the abs module possibly malfunctioned and this is causing the computer to not read my transmission sensors. I was then told the abs module is discontinued and cannot be found. Due to this, I was told labor and programming would be roughly $696, however the price for the module is uncertain. It has now been 2 weeks without a vehicle that has a discontinued part. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I am the original owner of a Dodge Journey 2014 sxt that had the r61 abs recall done in 2016. Now my abs and traction light is on constantly and I have no cruise control. I took it into a dealer for the u49 recall and asked them to look at the abs issue. They said the abs module needed replacement and the wiring due to rodent damage. I contacted my insurance for comprehensive coverage of rodent damage. . The insurance adjuster went to look at the car and found no rodent damage and therefore no claim. . . I contacted fca (stellantis) customer service center and was told that the r61 recall for this vehicle on this issue was already performed in 2016 . They told me that the recall was only guaranteed for 2 years???? should not the recall of the r61 that was done in 2016 for safety be still under warranty????.

My abs, traction control and emergency brake dash lights are on. When I researched the problem it did show a recall on the abs control module and wiring harness from certain 2015 Dodge Journeys. I did take my car to a Dodge dealership and they did confirm the abs module needs to be replaced but they told me my particular VIN wasn't included in the current recall. If my car model from the same year has an active recall for the part included in the recall and it is being effective by the same problem listed in the recall how do I get my car included in that recall. I am currently still waiting for the new part to come in with the dealership to have it replaced.

There are known recalls on 2018 Dodge Journeys. For some reason my VIN 3c4pdcab7jt443786 doesn't show on the list. 1) back up camera shows a black screen or a blurry dark picture (on going issue for over a year) 2) electrical system sometimes refuses to acknowledge the key fob and or won't start due to it thinking it has a dead battery. (on going issue for almost two years) 3) when braking in an emergency situation, heavy vibration from the rear of vehicle (on going issue for a few years when hard braking rarely occurs).

Component/system that failed or malfunctioned & availability for inspection I have experienced multiple safety-critical failures in my 2012 Dodge Journey, including transmission failure, catalytic converter defects, engine repairs, electrical malfunctions, and brake system issues. Pattern of recalls across Dodge Journey models & lack of recall for my vehicle there have been numerous recalls across multiple model years (2009-2020) for the exact same failures my vehicle is experiencing, including: transmission failures and defects engine problems requiring major repairs catalytic converter and exhaust failures brake system failures and premature caliper wear electrical malfunctions affecting windows, wiring, and power systems despite this clear pattern of defects in Dodge Journey models, my specific vehicle has not been recalled for these issues. Dodge/stellantis needs to explain why these defects are not being covered under existing recalls when the same problems have been recognized in other model years. How my safety & others’ safety was put at risk 1. Transmission failure & unsafe driving conditions my transmission failed completely, causing high rpm revving, and loss of acceleration. My vehicle essentially stalled out on the highway. Now, the transmission requires a full rebuild costing over $5,238. 64. Dodge has issued recalls for transmission defects in other Journey model years, but mine is excluded despite experiencing identical failures. 2. Engine repairs & performance failures my vehicle has required major engine repairs, including: camshaft and rocker arm replacements ignition coil replacements thermostat and cooling system repairs Dodge has issued engine-related recalls for other Journey models, including crankshaft/camshaft sensor failures, engine stalling, and overheating risks. My vehicle suffers from the same defects but has not been recalled. These engine issues pose a major safety hazard by increasing the risk of engine stalling, loss of power, and.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the abs module was failing and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control (esc), service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Abs recall dealership has had the vehicle for 3 months.
Abs module failure for my 2014 Dodge Journey this vehicle had a recall r61: anti-lock brake system (abs) control module on about 275,600 of the above vehicles may have a ground wire eyelet on the right front shock tower that allows water to wick through the ground wire case and into the abs module. Moisture in the abs module could disable the abs and/or electronic stability control (esc) system(s). The lack of a functioning abs and/or esc system(s) could change the braking and/or handling characteristics of the vehicle and cause a crash without warning. Dodge has confirmed that the abs connector was cleaned and heat shrink was added to this vehicle on Jan 4, 2016. However in October 2024 the abs module (part number 68194693af) on my Dodge Journey failed and required replacement. I was required to pay out of pocket for this safety hazard. .
The abs module has failed. There was a recall r61 issued previously for this issue of moisture causing abs module failures. The original recall was completed on this vehicle [xxx]. There is no documentation that the abs module itself was replaced at that time since this is a tiered recall. The abs module has now failed and there is evidence on the electrical plug that moisture was present during a recent inspection by an ase certified mechanic. I took the car to academy cjd dealership in tipton, indiana and they refused to perform the recall again since it supposedly had already been completed. They wanted to charge me a fee to 'diagnose' further. I contend that even though the recall or partial recall was previously completed, the abs has failed due to the issue the original recall was supposed to prevent. I have a picture of the abs electrical connector showing evidence of shorting due to moisture. Please let me know if Dodge should be required to complete the recall again, since the abs failed again. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I was driving to work and my abs and traction control light came on while driving in the rain and started hydroplaning on the highway now my brakes are not working properly.

While I was driving, my car unexpectedly lost power and the engine shut off while I was making a left hand turn. There was no warning. The steering wheel became very hard to maneuver and the car coasted through the turn. I was almost hit by incoming traffic. Once the car came to a complete stop, I was able to put it in park and restart it after attempting twice. The first time, it sputtered. It has not been confirmed by a dealer and it has not been inspected by anyone. There were no warning lights prior to it shutting off. The radio never stopped working on either. It happens when the air is running.

Engine problems.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that after it rained, the abs warning light illuminated, and the speedometer gauge dropped to "0 mph”. The contact stated that the warning lights illuminated after it rained; additionally, the electronic throttle control (etc) warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that water was entering the abs module and the abs module needed to be replaced. The mechanic notified the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control (esc), service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
My vehicle stopped working all together. It only has 45 thousand miles on it. The dealer found that the abs module shorted out and caused the whole car to loose communication. The dealer informed me that the replacement part was under review by Chrysler engineers and production has stopped so there is no replacement for this part and so I contacted Chrysler and was told that they don't have an estimated time for new part production. This issue is not only a financial concern but also a safety as my vehicle has no abs, lights and will not run and drive. I have a car that I cant even repair because of lack of part production so now I'm out financially as well with no idea on how long it will take to get repaired.
In July of 2024 I had to brake to avoid striking a deer. My abs and traction control light came on in the dash, and my cruise control stopped working. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they said the hcu and abs modules were bad, but the abs module was no longer made by Chrysler, and it wasn't available aftermarket. I contacted stelantis and they said the abs module was under "engineering review" and not available. I received an email in September indicating the part was now available and it was being shipped to my dealership. I never heard back from the dealership, and I called them back on December 17th. The parts manager said his computer indicated again that the part was unavailable and it had been discontinued on October 14th, 2024. He sent me a screenshot of the order screen showing the part was discontinued which I've attached below. I recontacted stelantis on December 23rd and they started another case (case #[xxx]) and a case manager would call me back within one working day. I called stelantis back on January 3rd and spoke with "edward" who said my case was never assigned and he was going to "expedite" the case (as every other person I had spoken to previously said) and that a case manager would contact me within one working day. As of now, I have not heard back. My abs brakes and traction control (federally mandated safety equipment since 1998) are inoperable and according to stelantis, the abs module is no longer made and there are no aftermarket replacements. My cruise control does not work either and I don't know if any of the other safety features are affected. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My cars abs, traction control, emergency break lights came on and I went to look up what was wrong and other 2012 Dodge Journeys have a recall on the problem that is wrong with my car (r61). I only have 1 recall on my specific car. So now I have to pay to replace the part.
Electronic stability control (esc), service brakes, hydraulic the light for the stability control came on and my brakes chatter feels like there's bumps on the disc . Its pulling to the right , . . Also my door locks have failed . First it started with my rear windshield wiper running with the switch off ,than my reverse lights and now the locks . The back door does not lock at all and the door locks work sometimes . The electronics on my car is failing @ 120,000 it started . Its now at 150,000 tried everything still wont work.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal was soft, and the vehicle made an abnormal grinding sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the failure might be related to the abs module. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the vehicle had previously been repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control (esc), service brakes, hydraulic) and that additional repairs would be at the owners expense. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
Engine light came on. Abs light on. Red lightning bolt light came on. Car running very rough with diminishing power. Local mechanic said take it to the dealer. Took it to the dealer and it was repaired. Noted that there is a recall for ram trucks with same problem but none for the Journey.

In may after tires rotated the abs warning lights started coming on took my Dodge Journey back to dealership they analyze it and found it was the abs system but there was no part to order to repair the system.
I believe the 2016 Dodge Journeys should be included in the 15v675000 recall. My passenger side floorboard was wet, mechanic changed filter but water can still be heard sloshing in the car. Since then, emergency brake, and check engine light will randomly turn on while I’m driving. The “service awd” and “service park assist system” notice will turn on when I start my car. Now, the car is not registering as parked. I can’t turn the car on and it goes into a security mode because I get a “car not in park” notice. I have had the car serviced and checked multiple times and no codes come up. I have the brakes checked when the light abs light flashes, no issues can be found.
Component malfunction: abs control module (module is part of the electronic stability program and traction control system). Available for inspection: upon request. Safety risk: random locking of front abs system at speeds of 20mph or less (great concern for event happening at a greater speed ). Vehicle manufacturer: admits known risk and problem w/ the abs control module and traction control system and is researching problem-matic modules, but will they not issue a recall. Part is not available . Warning lamps were after the first event (3-13-24): esp and traction control. Videos are difficult to catch do to the random nature of the problem.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated when he started his vehicle the stability track, check brakes and the abs lights illuminated. The contact stated that he drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the abs module needed to be replaced and reprogramed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control - esc, service brakes, hydraulic). The failure mileage was 103,300.
Abs, brake, and traction light coming on coded c2200-49 told there was a recall and when I called the dealership they said it wasn't for my vehicle but they couldn't even order the part because they're having to replace them on so many and they are not in stock anywhere until after April 15th. If this has been an issue with other vehicles and is currently an issue with mine why is it not under the recall??? 2012 Dodge Journey sxt.
Fca us llc po box 21-8004 auburn hills, mi 48321-8004 mopar part #68194693af (discontinued) VIN# 3c4pddbg8gt242925 sir or madam, I am writing to your company regarding the lack of availability of the abs control module for my 2016 Dodge Journey. My vehicle, like those of numerous other Dodge Journey owners, has a malfunctioning abs control module. Because of this malfunction, the abs and cruise control do not work, placing me and my family in an unsafe situation. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes resulting from this malfunction. I have tried every source in existence to find a replacement module, but I have been totally unsuccessful. Your company's response that you are unable to maintain a complete inventory for an indefinite period of time is appalling. Several thousand Dodge Journey owners who paid tens of thousands of dollars for their vehicles deserve better support. Sincerely, kyle vessel.
Under heavy braking conditions the vehicles abs system did not engage and the vehicle slid losing control. There was a safety recall r61 which was documented as completed 20 may 2016, but inspection of the abs ground wire shows it in its original position when compared to page 18 of the recall instruction. There has been no work on the abs module since the recall.
The car lost power and wouldn't speed up. Could have been rear ended. We had the abs light come on,the traction control light on, the air bag light on and a few more I didn't recognize they came on and went out so fast. Had to pull over and restart the car.
