1 Engine Noise problem of the 2016 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 02/11/2020

The vehicle is jerking and the radio is changing channels on it s own. The engine is making a sound, that sounds like it's about to give out. The vehicle haves less than 40000 miles on it. The traction control light came on while I was driving straight on dry pavement.

2 Engine Noise problem of the 2018 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

From day 1: car doesn't accelerate properly; doesn't go as it should when one pulls into traffic. Very scary! the extra gears only make the motor sound like it's going to explode, & doesn't make car move any faster/easier. I am an experienced driver with a perfect driving record; it's not the driver! second issue: the hood keeps popping up, and I fear it will eventually fly all the way up. These issues are life threatening. 3rd issue: it certainly doesn't get the gas mileage that it should, getting 16-18. Please help! as a cancer patient, I depend on this car to get to many dr visits. Thank you.

The vehicle started slowing down and making noises, not shifting, delayed engagement, and before everything happened it didn't show any sign of problem on the board (no check engine) and the car was in motion, on a city street.

5 Engine Noise problem of the 2013 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 09/10/2017

While driving on u. S. 84 highway in alabama I noticed the engine making a strange noise and pulled over to the side of the road. I could then see smoke coming from under the hood, when I opened the hood I could see at the base of the engine orange flames. Used water bottles on hand to put out the fire. After my insurance company sent out inspectors it was found that wiring to the oxygen sensor had shorted out causing the fire. Inspectors believe it was faulty wiring that caused the fire. Contacted Chrysler and they denied any responsibility.

6 Engine Noise problem of the 2011 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 03/29/2016

Recurring safety issue with no concrete resolution. While driving at 55mph on a parkway vehicle engine stalled. I could not accelerate and the brakes and steering wheel locked. Radio, power windows, etc. All worked and I couldn't shut off the vehicle via the push button start/stop. When I pressed it to try and turn it off it made a noise like it was trying to start but couldn't. While waiting for the tow truck all of the check engine lights started flashing. Had it towed to the dealership, they replaced the alternator ($$) though diagnostics revealed no problems and they were able to start the car fine once it got there. One week later I was on the highway and the exact same thing happened. It was so scary. I could barely get to the shoulder of the road because the steering had locked. My speed was declining rapidly with cars rushing past at 65+ mph. Once on the shoulder, even though my speed had declined to 0, I was on a slight hill so I just kept rolling bc I had no ability to break. Journey was towed to dealership again and, as before, nothing comes up as the source of the problem via the diagnostics test. The one thing that diagnostics did reveal was that it was detecting a key fob in the car with a low battery- both of the keys are at home with me with no car to drive. Additional problems and repair costs incurred have included malfunction of all steering wheel control buttons and horn, tire sensors needing to be replaced (they all showed 0 pressure when the tires were fine), and key fob detection. I have seen many complaints of this scary engine stall experience with no clear resolution as to why it is happening. It seems the mechanics and star techs are stumped. My car only has 75k miles on it and I am terrified to drive it especially with my child in the car. Please investigate this issue before someone gets injured.

7 Engine Noise problem of the 2010 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 07/16/2015

Breaks have to be replaced at least every 2 months. My car continues to overheat and we have the thermostat 5 different times. We have to keep turning the key off and on til the car decides to start. I have contacted the people about this and they keep telling me that there is no recall for my VIN number. It needs to be added because it is obviously an issue with more than just my car. I will contact an attorney because now that it is out of warranty they tell me I will have to pay to have the issues resolved the start issue is of course stationary the break problem is while driving and so is the over heating issue was driving down the road heard a scraping noise and the front bumper was talking off and the bumper bar was loose. These are apparently very dangerous cars and all should be recalled.

8 Engine Noise problem of the 2010 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 08/28/2014

First had a problem with car shutting down and would not start so I bought a battery, because it kept draining then starter made noise had to replace it , then my car started over heating so I was told it was the reservoir so I bought one , now my transmission slips in reverse. I'm still having problems with shut downs no starting, everything is acting up all over again.
