Passenger side of vehicle had no heat just cool air coming out of vents. Drivers side had heat coming out of vents. Vehicle was taken to an independent facility to have cooling system and heater core flushed. Was told by independent shop if problem comes back to take vehicle to dealer and have heater core replaced. After about 2 months problem came back. Took to dealer and found same problem, a clogged heater core. They reaced heater core in December of 2018, all was good till November of 2019. No heat on passenger side of vehicle. Took back to dealer and they flushed heater core. December of 2019 once again no heat on passenger side of vehicle. They reflushed heater core and told us if problem comes back to have radiator replaced and cooling system flushed. This is turning into a major safety problem due to the window keep fogging up in my wifes car making it impossible for her to see clearly and safely while driving. We have spent more than $2000. 00 in repairs and now they want $700. 00+ and said there is no guarantee it will work.

My vehicle radiator thermostat was 1st running low. Now it's running high. I talked to Dodger on dealership near me. They say that my vehicle doesn't have recall notices for radiator problems and they will charge me to repair it. They are now giving me offers to buy a new vehicle.

For the 2nd time since I purchased this car 2 years ago, I have lost power steering and had to pay to replace it. This car has been a lemon since I purchased it. First the head gasket blew, then I had to replace the radiator, then the ignition switch, now power steering twice. This car is nothing but a money pit. I tell everyone I know to stay away from Dodge.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While the vehicle was undergoing a routine oil change at an independent mechanic, the technician noticed that there was sludge in the radiator. The failure caused the radiator to overheat and the engine leaked oil into the radiator. In turn, the radiator was leaking fluid into the engine. The technician stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

In the middle of the winter 2015-2016 I had to replace my radiator due to a small crack that developed. My heat started to malfunction the following winter 2016-2017 it only worked part of the time. Starting in the fall of 2017 my heat went out completely. We took it in to have them check the heater core, come to find out that since the heater core is installed at an angle it doesn't drain the sludge properly. I have also noticed that my air conditioning will turn on at random. I don't know exactly when this started, but it will turn on by itself. Just this morning 8/13/18 my air turned on 15 times, after being shut off every time. I'm wondering if this is something wrong electronically. I purchased this car in August 2010 (it is a 2009) and since then, I have had the vehicle in the shop 33 times. I have had to replace all brakes and rotors, had front passenger-side window motor replaced, driver-side is going out now, had leaking from the ceiling, replacing the cracked radiator right now, had the emergency brake fixed, needed new rods and bushings, fuel injectors run loud, there is a drone noise from the right side of the vehicle when going 1800-2000 rpm, electrical systems short out, had the electric throttle indicator light come on, car dies all the time, yet the battery is fine, . . . Bottom line, this is a lemon. I have the r/t model which the dealership likes to claim "is just the noisy one. " that is a very poor answer towards a consumer. I take very good care of my vehicles and to put up with this is upsetting. I have spent over $3000 in repairs in the 2 1/2 years that I have owned this SUV. Chrysler has made no attempts to help with these common problems and I know that I will not support this company buy purchasing with them again. When I bought a Journey. . . I didn't realize being able to drive it without problems, would be such a "journey. ".
