1 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2014 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 04/05/2021

While driving from from grand rapids and arriving to michigan city, indiana, I hear a noise that mimicked that of a flat tire. I immediately made a right turn into the parking lot to check each one of my tires, but none of them were low or completely deflated. I drove up a bit to park my vehicle, so I could further investigate and it stalled. When I got out of the vehicle, I smelled a light burning smell coming from underneath tbe vehicle and I just let it sit, while calling my insurance company's roadside assistance to obtain support. I had the vehicle towed back to grand rapids costing me $401 because my insurance only paid up to 15 miles for towing and this drive was approximately a 125 mile drive. Due to covid, I had to pay out of pocket for a ride back to grand rapids as well. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where I purchased the car back in April 2015 and after the delearship checked to diagnose the vehicle, I received a phone call saying it was my all wheel drive powertrain unit/system and it had busted and was leaking fluid. The quote that the gentleman gave was a whopping $2200 and some change. I really thought I remembered purchasing a powertrain warranty, but is there a way to find out for sure if I did? I would appreciate more guidance on this situation because I am out of thousands of dollars and would love to have some financial assistance, if possible. Also, I wanted to initiate a recall for this because if I had been still on the highway driving, this could have turned out way different and I would hate to hear that others may not be as blessed as I was. I do not have my invoice yet because they are working on fixing my car still. I will save it once I do, if needed. Thank you in advance for investigating this safety concern and have a great day!.

Failure Date: 07/08/2018

On hot days car began leaking automatic transmission fluid from assumed vent on top of cable shifter linkage. Car was sitting and not driven in a approximately 3 days and was positioned in a forward incline. Dip stick showed high on the fill tube above hash marks. Also horn blaring without touching. Regardless if someone is in the car or not. The horn will go off all times of day or night. It is a honk. Honk. . . . Hoooooonk. . . . . Hoooooooonk. Best way to describe it is someone is angry or an emergency is taking place and other drivers need to move. It is random on when this will happen.

4 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2015 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 06/08/2017

At times the car refuses to downshift in order to safely accelerate when needed. Common example is when coming to a "rolling stop" at a stoplight and preparing to turn left through an intersection, the car is usually in 3rd or 4th gear. When we press the gas pedal, 3rd or 4th gear aren't low enough gears to make the car safely accelerate through the intersection so you're left just creeping through it in 3rd or 4th gear when the car should've downshifted to 1st or 2nd gear from recognizing the gas was depressed significantly. But over and over again this scenario plays out and it's put my wife and family in danger each time. It was found at the service appointment at lucas Dodge in June of 2017 that there was a transmission fluid leak. It is unknown how long this leak existed or how much fluid leaked out or how much mechanical transmission damage occurred. We bought this car brand new and it's now been in for at least 5 repair attempts for this problem and we know the way it is behaving isn't normal as it didn't act this way when we first bought it, plus we've had 2 identical loaner Dodge Journey's and they do not act this way.
