- the contact stated that had transmission failure. The vehicle had 18,000 mileson it. The check engine light first turned on at 10,000 miles. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, and the check engine light was reset. In June 2006 the contact was driving in heavy traffic 70 mph with clear and dry road conditions and the vehicle dropped to first gear. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated the air bag light and the check engine light came on. The contact called the dealer, waited a few minutes and drove the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer changed the throttle body and transmission control module. The vehicle performed well for approximately 3,000 miles. On Dec 22, 2006 the check engine light came on, the contact called the dealer and because the contact was concerned about driving the vehicle, the dealer came and towed the vehicle. The transmission control module was changed. The contact was called on Dec 28, 2006, and was told the vehicle was ready. The contact picked up the vehicle and within three miles of leaving the dealer, the contact accelerated and the vehicle dropped to first gear. The traffic was heavy and the contact can not remember if any warning lights turned on. The contact drove the vehicle back to the dealer where it remained. The contact did not have the VIN information, he will call back.
