The car seems to be running fine one minute when I come up to the traffic light while it is in gear the engine shuts off the next problem is driving down the road the lights go off and on sometimes don't come back on for two or three minutes very annoying when you're driving at night with no headlights an oncoming traffic.

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 01/15/2014

Running low on gas on January 15th I stopped at a gas station to refuel. I purchased 91 octane, placed the nozzle in the gas tank tube and began to refuel. Once the pump clicked I replaced the gas nozzle, tightened the gas cap, started the car and drove off. Less than two minutes later as I was approaching a stop light the engine shuts off and the oil light comes on. I quickly placed the gear in park, and attempted to restart the engine. After trying three times it finally turns over and I am able to drive off. One minute later it shuts off again as I am beginning to make a right turn into a driveway. Same scenario as before. Now every time I fill the tank to the point where the gas nozzle clicks the engine will shut off multiple times within the first 10 miles of driving.

4 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

Vehicle began to just shut off when not in motion. Took the car to auto shop to be repaired. After spending more money than expected to fix what the mechanic thought was the problem, we still were having the same issue. Finally, wte received a recall notice on the gas tank. After waiting months for Chrysler to send the dealership a gas tank for our car, we finally brought the vehicle in to be repaired. Changed out the gas tank , dealership kept the car a few days to test it out, called us to pick up the car. On the way home, the vehicle kept killing. Took it back to the dealership and they they kept the car for almost two months trying to figure out the problem, but they were unsuccessful in diagnosing the problem. As of today the car is still shumtting off and nobody can figure out the problem. The car only has 45000 miles.

5 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 09/09/2013

Engine stalls while driving, also stalls while car is not moving, whether in park, reverse, or drive the car shuts down and sometimes starts up immediately and sometimes it doesn't, if car is moving at speeds above 30 and the stall happens it will kick right back up on it's own.

6 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

Without warning, the car shuts down. This first occurred at a red light. The car just shut off unexpectedly and I was able to turn the key and restart it without problems. The engine shuts off while at a stop, while driving at lower speeds, while driving at high speeds, in town driving, highway driving, when it's hot outside, when it's cool outside, when idling. There are no dashboard lights (engine, oil, etc). There are no sounds, no shuddering, no kicking. My only indication that the car has suddenly turned off is that the tach needle goes immediately to zero. I have been able to use the momentum of the vehicle to pull off the road at which time I turn the key to off, wait a moment, and turn it back on. It restarts without problems. If I try to restart too quickly, there seems to be a hesitation in starting. We have attempted to repair many parts on the vehicle but it has not cured the problem.

7 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 09/15/2012

My Dodge Magnum for the last year " total of 4 times" has stalled only after refueling along with the steering wheel locking. There is no warning !. No engine light. ! the car just shuts down . But this last time it almost caused a accident. Too close to a disaster. I had my child in the car . I have read the complaints on this site. And I know I am not the only one this happens to. Why is this not being addressed !!! I have never had this happen to me with any other car I have owned. I baby my car with servicing . I have 134,282 miles. I haven't had a issue with the car ever. Until now. I believe it's a faulty part. This is a life threatening issue. As well as the psychical stress not knowing when my car fails me. Why is this not a recall with the Dodge Magnum fuel system? which causes a vapor lock without warning. Does someone have to loose a life to get this addressed ?.

8 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2008 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 02/15/2010

While driving my 2008 Dodge Magnum, my car completely shut off without warning and not one light inside turned on indicating a problem. This has happened on three occasions when I first purchased the vehicle. The cars computer was reflashed twice and I don't know what was done besides that. It obviously didn't fix the problem cause my car has shut off plenty of times after that. The last occasion was Monday 02-15-10 while in the parking lot, as I put the car in reverse the car stalled when I took my foot off the brake. It just shut off again but this time an actual light came on. The malfunction light came on.

9 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 01/30/2010

I purchased a 2005 Dodge Magnum in 2005 new the car only had 10,000 miles on it, I have paid for this car for the last 5 years and have always maintained the scheduled oil changes on my car. Saturday 1/30/2010 I was driving and the car shut off completely I was on the express way lucky I was able to get over to the shoulder and no one was hurt. I got a jump and the car started and I drove for a few more minutes it cut off again. I had it towed and the serviceman is telling me that my engine is locked to replace it will cost me close to $6000 which happens to be more then the car is actually worth. After doing some research I am seeing that Chrysler/ Dodge is aware of the defective 2. 7 engine which I have in my car and continues to make money off sales and is doing nothing for consumers who have and continue to experience this problem. I am disgusted and something needs to be done about this. I will not stop until Chrysler is exposed for purposely covering up this issue which thousands of people who work hard just like me have gone through.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Magnum. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle began misfiring just days after it was repaired.
