43 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 08/21/2014

My 2006 Dodge Magnum has been a great car. Until yesterday. I had driven the vehicle earlier in the day without problems. Went out to my car after work, started right up as usual - but would not go out of park. After googling the problem, I have found that this is a recurrent problem on both Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. There is a work around, but am very disappointed that this item is not found on any recall lists. While this is not technically a "safety" issue, it is a very frustrating problem. Based on the sheer number of people who seem to have had this problem - a recall should be issued!!!!.

53 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 11/12/2013

At low speeds and stops my car will shut off at random times. Sometimes 3-5 times in as short of a drive as 10 miles, mainly at intersections. Worst incident was pulling away from a stop sign making a left hand turn with a car coming the direction I was turning, I lost engine power as well as power-steering. In all instances I shut car off and restarted and was able to pull away, although in some cases it would not initially engage into drive. I first experienced after putting a full tank of gas in although now it does not matter the fuel level. It has been progressively getting more frequent.

54 Power Train problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 11/07/2013

Went out to start the car on 11/7/13 and could not get the shift out of park. Called the Dodge dealer and he knew exactly what was wrong. Called a tow truck and the owner said that he also knew what was wrong and that his small towing service had towed hundreds of Chrysler / Dodge cars with the same exact problem. I checked on the internet and found hundreds of complaints similar to my problem - cannot get out of park. I also called Chrysler customer service and was told that they knew of the problem, but that my particular vehicle was not covered - only certain VIN's are covered. If there are 100's of cars just in my small location, there must be 1000's, if not tens of thousands affected vehicles nation wide. I will also mention that the manual override for the shifter did not work, so my car had to be dragged onto the tow truck. I feel that this is not only a costly problem for car owners, but a safety issue as well. What if you put the car in park while you were in the middle of traffic and then could not move? I could list other situations as well - all safety issues. I would ask that a total recall of all vehicles effected be issued. Thanks.

55 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 11/05/2013

I ran out of fuel on my way to gas station. Called aaa, they brought me 1 gal of gas. Car started fine and drove to gas station (4 miles) with no problems. After filling tank car stalled repeatedly while driving on street (5 or 6 times on way home, maybe 5 miles). Problem occurred several times for the next week. Never had this happen before. Since this time everytime I fill the gas tank the problem re-appears and car stalls while driving or at stop light. Problem persists for a week or so. Also, when the car stalls and the engine is re-started the transmission won't engage for 10 to 15 seconds after shifting into drive. This problem seems to occur the most right after I fill up and gradually dissappears as fuel level gets lower. After a week or so the car runs fine, no stalling. The car is not driven daily so it takes a while to burn some of the gas out. I've probably filled the tank 4 times since original onset of problem. I am the original owner of this vehicle.

59 Power Train problem of the 2007 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 09/17/2013

Vehicle automatic transmission shifter is "stuck in park". This leaves the driver stranded at a location. This is a very common problem with Dodge and Chrysler 2007 vehicles. (also, circa 2007) a recall was issued for the shifter interlock "pink thing" but only for certain vins. Mine has the same part, but not covered by the recall. If you look on the internet at "Dodge stuck in park" you will see how many people like me are in this same predicament. I am old and have medical problems for which I don't need to be stranded or may need the vehicle to get to a doctor, etc. Chrysler Dodge should issue a recall for the rest of these "stuck in park issues". Thanks!.

60 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 09/09/2013

Engine stalls while driving, also stalls while car is not moving, whether in park, reverse, or drive the car shuts down and sometimes starts up immediately and sometimes it doesn't, if car is moving at speeds above 30 and the stall happens it will kick right back up on it's own.

61 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 09/04/2013

Engine stalls every time fuel tank is filled. Typically occurs at an idle immediately after fillup. Has stalled while pulling out into traffic, causing people to swerve out of my way almost causing several collisions.

62 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 08/12/2013

I have 3. 5l sxt model vehicle. My vehicle has dangerous acceleration problems when the vehicle is in proper running temperature. When you pull out onto a street you expect that the vehicle will accelerate to the flow of traffic. There have been many times that I press the gas pedal to the floor and it is like dragging an anchor behind me. I have been doing lots of reading about this issue and I am not the only person with this problem. It appears that this could be a simple fix from Chrysler by a corrected program issue for the transmission. I would love to see a TSB be issued for this as it is going to cause a bad crash due to the vehicle not responding as it should. This problem, from what I can tell, is only with one specific transmission used in this model vehicle. Like I said above, this is an easy fix for Chrysler by reprogramming the transmission operation but they are not wanting to help fix the problem. Please help and I would like to hear back from someone about this issue. Thanks.

63 Power Train problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

1). On 7-31-13, I got into my car and started it in my driveway, the shift knob would not come out of park position. I called aaa to tow it to finnegan Dodge in rosenberg, TX. The dealer replaced shift assembly. Paid $390. 36. Since then, car still will not come out of park to go into gear most of the time. I have to pump brake pedal about 4 to 5 times before it would go into gear. 2). Received airbag recall and called finnegan Dodge, and dropped off vehicle on 6-22-15. Mileage was 82,058. Dealer stated they replaced driver airbag inflater and tested the system. I picked up car on 6-23-15 and the passenger airbag warning light started coming on at any given time whether there was a passenger or not. I did not have these problems until airbag work was done. Called several times and said someone will call back, but never did. I called on 7-24-15, and they scheduled me to bring the car back on 8-5-15. Hopefully, they won't charge me for their mess-up.
