The contact owns 2005 Dodge Neon. The contact stated that the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and they were unable to duplicate the failure. He then took the vehicle to another dealer who stated that the camshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor wiring needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and they were aware of the failure. The vehicle was being inspected and he was waiting for a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle identification number was not available. The failure and current mileage was 25,800.

My 2005 Dodge Neon does not want to crank. When it does crank and you accelerate then rpms increase rapidly and then fall back to about 1500 and the car starts acting like it wants to cut off. The engine light is now on and does not go off. When you come to a stop the car jumps forward quickly and then acts like it is going to cut off. Not drivable, too dangerous.

While driving at highway speed engine light and the oil light came on. Consumer pulled into a rest stop. Upon driving up the ramp to the rest stop vehicle stalled. Vehicle was towed to the dealership, and mechanic determined that sludge build up, causing the vehicle to stall.

Driving down i95, oil and engine light went on. Immediately pulled into rest stop <1 mile away. Car died on ramp. Last oil change 23,000 miles, car has 30,000 miles. Realize late for change, but deal says engine needs to be replaced will not cover under warranty. States that failure to have dealer do maintainan invalid warranty. States that problem caused by neglect. 7000 miles since last change, while late should not blow engine. No assistance offered by dealer.

Since about three months after getting my 1999 Dodge Neon I started having difficulites with it. Ranging from lights comming on and off inside and rough idle. Thenthen when the wiring issue was presented for left turn signal popping on and off at will,and the whole car just shutting down while driving on the highway. Steering whell locking up and no control over the functions at all then car would not start. I kept taking it in and addressing to crysler that the main engine fuse by the firewall was blowing and was told that it was highly unusual for that to happen and upon initial inspection they found the wiring harness warded from the heat of the fuse blowing and replaced fuse and sent me on my way for it only to happen 3 more times!at this point they double fused the lines and now the chk engine light stays on and it is impossible to register my car now with that light on and because of that it failed smog!! now iam stuck with financing on a car that has tremendeous trouble that everyone claims doesnt exist. Please help!!!.

Engine idle rough. Idle speed drops below 500 rpm. Throttle sticks open causing to surge at high rate of speed (2 occurances) engine lose of power, especially up small inclines. A/c or accessories have no effect on idle rpm. Dealer recommend super grade gas (against manf recommendations) 2 dealers unable to duplicate problem. At 70mph engine hesitates and stalls, again dealer unable to dup. Engine check light illuminated. However no codes are displayed for dealer. Overall, engine idle bad, throttle sticks, vehicle stalls. Driving skills have prevented accident. What can be done? nlm.

Consumer purchsased vehicle with 12,000 miles on it. Transmission fluid was leaking. Took vehicle to dealer & had seals tightened. 1-2 days later, engine check light came on & the car shut off while making a left turn. Vehicle had to be towed on 10-18-99 because consumer was scared to drive it. Consumer found out head gaskets were cracked. Consumer has other problems with the vehicle & dealer was not acknowledging the defects. Will contact the lemon law.
