2007 Ram truck. Consumer states brake malfunction
the consumer stated he took the truck to the dealership after almost rear ending another vehicle, because the brake malfunctioned. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. On December 15, 2010, the brakes failed again while hauling a trailer. The consumer lost control of the truck and the trailer and came close to causing a serious accident. The next day, the truck was towed to the dealer, but they were unable to find a problem.

2010 Dodge Ram hd diesel e/w new integrated trailer brake controller. New brake controller failure. The brake controller failure disconnected 3 times going down a steep grade. Also there was very little brake pressure coming from the integrated brake controller. Faxed all of the information to dealer and they said their tech was busy and did not have time to call Dodge to see if there is an ongoing problem with the new controller. Dealer is rio vista Dodge,
location rio vista, CA. I feel dealer should have looked at this problem because it is a safety issue.

While driving about 65 mph and barely touching the brakes to slow down, all four wheels locked up. Truck was towed to the dealership. Brake failure had occurred once before, and resulted in an accident. Dealer could not duplicate the problem, but they replaced the power brake booster. Brake failure has not occurred since.

These are the last two of the seven incidents of total brake failure for this vehicle. All incidents occurred at speeds of 25 - 60 mph. 6 of the 7 were during normal stopping conditions; 1 emergency stop. When stepping on the brake pedal there is no braking action. The pedal does not go to the floor. Stepping on the brake pedal 1-2 more times and the brakes then grab. 1 incident failed to stop at a stop sign; 1 neccesitated veering out of lane.
The front brakes on this truck failed to work evenly. A sever pull to the left, resulting in a near jack knife situation and collision with on coming traffic. I immediately took the truck into the dealer. They have been unsuccessful in repairing it and state that only 5% of the trucks in this model do that, therefore Dodge will not recall and the warranty will not cover the repairs. Dodges answer is to "live with it". This problem is significant and a definite safety hazard. I request a representative contact me immediately about this situation.
Brakes were failing to properly hold vehicle or slow vehicle down while attempting to stop at any speed. Dealership has examined vehicle, and could not determine cause. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
Abs brakes; when applying brakes in a panic stop, the brakes fail to stop the vehicle, causing extended stopping distance. Please provide details.
