1. Replaced fuse (original equipment) on my 2002 Dodge Ram pickup for the left rear trailer lights with storehouse fuse bought at harbor freight store. 2. Fuse did not "blow" as it should and "welded" itself into fuse block. I cannot remove the remnants of the fuse. 3. This may necessitate complete replacement of the fuse block at considerable cost. Possible hundreds of dollars.

Failure Date: 06/12/2000

Catalytic converter went out. Consumer was traveling on the highway and the vehicle just stopped. Also, transmission fluid and oil was leaking from underneath the vehicle. The dealer could not solve the transmission problem, but the vehicle was taken to the dealer 19 times for repair. Water pump was leaking and was replaced. The engine was over heating due to thermostat and gasket failures. The a/c blows warm air due to low pressure switch failure. The driver seat was coming apart. Rear lights blinkers and brakes were not working due to blown fuse. The rear right brake locksup on hand stop. The left door speakers malfunctions.

5 Fuses And Circuit Breaker problem of the 1999 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 05/31/2000

We feel there is an electrical problem the horn is not working again. We spoke to the service manager and asked what if these problems reoccur are we having to pay for repairs, he said yes once the warranty is expired. If we are wrong please tell us, but we have owned a dozen vehicles and none have ever had the horn stop working much less twice in less than 2yrs.

Failure Date: 10/15/1999

Fuse #12 blew while truck was parked. Replaced the fuse, it blew again. This circuit controls radio mirrors and cargo lights. Took truck to dealer, they replaced right door switch. 2nd incident was oct. 24th. This time though, fuse didn't blow and wire harness caught on fire and melted. This was also the very same circuit (#12). Took truck back to dealer, they had it for a week and replace wire harness. 3rd incident was Nov. 10th, fuse #12 blew again. Tried to replace fuse and it blew again. Truck is currently at the dealer and they can't find the short as of the time of this complaint.

Fuel pump had to be replaced due to engine dying out. Engine check light came on & then died out. Had fuse replaced due to blowing out constantly. Engine & catalytic converter affected.

Ignition fuse link keeps blowing out, causing vehicle to shut down. Vehicle has been in two accidents because of this condition . Vehicle has been at repair shop on three occasions, and problem still occurs. Can NHTSA help or provide additional information on this matter.

While truck is idling or moving. . If the horns are used , the fuse under the hood blows. This is also prevalent while the a/c is running. The a/c shuts down at this point, the compressor doesn't work until the fuse is replaced. The circiuit from the horns and the a/c are two different circuits under hood <relay box>cannot use the horns to alert others fuses keep blowing. Safety issue will not pass nh state inspection this way.

10 Fuses And Circuit Breaker problem of the 1996 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 08/15/1998

Transmission shudders at 45 mph, does not shift and shakes when going into 3rd or overdirve, and jerks and slips, dealer has replaced the valve body and reconditioned transmission and replaced convertor, transmission continues to lock up and jerk. Driver and passenger side mirrors were both replaced due to being loose. Emergency brake handle came off and was replaced. Fuel gauge read empty with 12 gallons in tank, dealer replaced fuel pump module. Wiper blades weren't cleaning windshield, dealer replaced both wiper blades, windshield washer was inoperable, dealer replaced washer motor. Vehicle has experienced many problems with the interior and dome lights failing, dome light keeps blowing fuse and dealer has replaced the strip lighting and fuse box door and repaired the open circuit to junction block. Radiator cap was replaced due to low coolant. There was a brake fluid leak, dealer replaced caps for the master cylinder, the brake and abs light were illuminated, dealer replaced rear wheel speed sensor and wiring. Passenger side vent window would not open and leaked air. Vehicle only gets 13mph on highway, consumer states this is poor gas mileage.

The headlights would flicker out when driving dark roads. Would then reappear for few minutes then off again. Interior lights remain on. Taking vehicle to dealer for electrical problems.
