Air Bag Problems of Dodge Ram 1500 - part 2

We purchased this vehichle and the steering wheel has a slit through it like its been deployed I would like to make sure it is safe also the side passenger seat the front seems like something is pocking you through the seat like it is not supposed to be there also the whole steering system seems off and not safe . I would like it to be noted and a recall should be made before injury to anyone.

On Feb. 20, 2023 my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 was worked to have a repair for the airbag recall. I spoke with someone at jt's Dodge to set up the appointment prior to 2-20-23 and was never verbally informed that there was a posed risk of my dash being cracked and so I set up the appointment. I tried to update my information but the young lady on the other end refused to update it stating I've been there before in the past. My two listed phone numbers are correct (over 10 years) and my address reflected was not updated to my new home address. On the day of Feb. 20, 2023 I sent my son-in-law to take my truck to have the recalled air bag repaired, which he did. He reports being told in a non urgent, very vague manner that there's a possibility of the dash cracking and per the service manager "it doesn't happen very often but we have to tell you". My son-in-law signed the paperwork to have the airbag repaired. I was gravely ill and unable to take it myself or I would have. He signed the form; the service manager took photos showing there was not any cracks prior to the work being done and other photos showing a crack after the work had been done. I was never contacted at either working phone number listed on file. When I finally reached someone several days later they showed no concern. I now have an 8. 5 inch crack in my dash putting myself and passengers at safty risk. Potential risks: my airbag is not properly pressurized, a delay with or the airbag not deploying at all if involved in a mvc/mva, possibility of the airbag deploying without being involved in a mvc/mva and over time the crack could become larger/longer allowing dirt particles to get into the crack causing electrical problems or a malfunctioning airbag sensor. Which places myself and passengers in great danger at any moment. Apparently this is a known (uncared about) issue as reported by Dodge who has discontinued the dash saying it is "obsolete", refusing to offer repairs or replacement, resolution.

The shifter began changing gears on its own. Before the recall came out my mechanic checked and there was no recall for this until 2018. I was never notified of the recall. Then on rear axle pinion nut. The nuts were installed without the proper amount of adhesive. Consequently, the nuts can loosen, and cause the rear axle to lock up, causing a loss of vehicle control. I was never notified of and the rear end came down while on the freeway. The fuel tank began leaking I repaired this before the recall came out. I submitted a reimbursement request they denied me stating my car was over 7 years old.

I tried to schedule with landers Jeep Chrysler Dodge in little rock, arkansas to fix the airbag recall in my truck on two separate occasions in the first occasion I brought it in. They told me it would take four hours on the phone when I got it there they told me it may take a few days and they don’t even know if they have the parts for it and they told me to reschedule in the second time that I brought it in. The service manager told me he couldn’t service it right now.

Mechanic said tipm went bad. All gages guit working, check engine light stays on wind shield whipers turn on & off, engine stalls,all lights randomly turn on and off head lights turn signals exc. Transmission and 4 wheel drive say repair. Anti lock breaks acting up. Mechanic said this is happening alot for 2004 Dodge ram trucks.

The air bag light is on and it has a recall the lights behind the gages went out and the engine has a knock at times.

While traveling at normal speeds approximately 40 mph a car ran a stop sign I t-boned them on their passenger side with my front end I hit them at approximately 40 mph my airbags did not deploy my face and chest hit the steering wheel and dash.

I took my truck in for the passenger airbag recall last year at jim cogdill Dodge. They said they fixed it but now I still get calls and am told it isn't fixed. I had already had the drivers side fixed long before that but they didn't have the passenger side. I have contacted jimcogdill Dodge and the Dodge ram people about it and I keep getting different answ ers. I have no idea if they fixed it or not.

On August 1 2020, my 2 adult children and another passenger was in a crash and my truck flipped several times from front to back and all passengers were badly injured and not one of the air bags were deployed. The truck was hit from the passenger side causing the truck to air lift and flip.

I found out there is multiple recalls.

This truck was purchased from autobarn in linden, PA. It was involved in a head on collision while entering a highway on a on ramp and none of the air bags deployed. After investigating it was found that the truck had 2 open recalls for airbags. The owner of autobarn was contacted and explained what had happened and further explained that a bill was passed in 2018 forbidding the sale of any vehicle with open recalls unless the purchaser agreed in writing that the vehicle would be accepted in that condition. No such form was signed. He further stated that he had no idea he was responsible. He was advised that this truck should have never been sold and through his negligence he endangered both occupants in the vehicle in the accident. Autobarn sells many vehicles and I wonder how many others have been sold in violation of this law.

I purchased my truck December 2018 from a private citizen, I recently ran a check for recalls and it informed me that none of the recalls associated with my 2005 Ram 1500 have never been addressed. I would like information as to how I move forward in getting the recalls fixed.

The contact pulled to the side of the road and put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire department was contacted and after looking at the vehicle reported that the airbag may have leaked and caused the fire. The contact stated that they heard a leaking air noise coming from the vehicle. The vehicle's dashboard was burned and the vehicle was inoperable. The contact stated the vehicle remains on the side of the road at this time. The contact had not received any injuries. The contact had not contacted the dealership. Takata recall: I've attempted to contact nemer cjdr of queensbury NY regarding the taka recall involving several phone calls and an online contact. The service department never calls back even when live help online says they will.

Heater vents control flap stoped funcining.

I'm worried that the air bag on passenger side is defective as the strangest noise is coming from behind the dash like a rubber band is tightening and then clicking on and off. Doesn't happen all the time. I've also had my truck in for the steering before and it has never been right. Now the hood will not shut right. It's always been a lemon. I fight to keep it on the road. It doesn't even have 36,000 miles on it. I'm wondering what recalls I've missed so I'm checking. Thank you.

I was involved in a accident 0n 07/29/2018 I hit a car that had pulled out of a side street. I was traveling at about 32mph at the time of impact there was no time to brake even when I press the pedal very hard at the time. There was no airbag deployment. And this was a hard front end hit. But the reason I'm sending this to you is because I had just had my truck in for the airbag recall 2 weeks earlier and was thinking all was fine. But this is not the case. What should I do about this.

Takata recall I have contacted dealerships several times to have this recall fixed and they keep telling me that they doont have the parts to fix the recall . It has been well over 3 years since this recall and I want my truck fix as I drive my kids in this vehicle.

The contact then reached out to a second dealer(national Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram 2223 n marine blvd, jacksonville, nc 28546 910-347-3777) where he called them and was informed that they would have the parts and if they were not available he could have the parts sent overnights. This dealer was not close to where the contact lives and can not take his vehicle to be serviced at this dealer. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Jo.

This vehicle is under recall for the air bag explosion potential. I had the dealer order the replacement part over 6 months ago and they still have not received the part. I am on blood thinners so I cannot even drive my truck for fear of an accident that could easily be fatal to me.

I have tried on many times too arrigo Dodge in west palm beach ,florida too complete the safety recall . They have refused too address the issues with this truck . I have complained to the Dodge motor division more times than a few ,they turn a blind-eye to the dealership . This truck was a lemon from the show-room floor ,I have replaced the computer , emissions system ,fuel injection system , wiring harness , and many more repairs . The brake system is very dangerous ,someone is going too get a serious injury from this issue. The truck also suffers from sudden acceleration , at any given time . I have called the Chrysler rep countless times , and they have a care less attitude ,I voiced my opinion on the chat line ,and. . . They were quite amused at the possibility of a crash or injury . I want a complete investigation of the dealership ,the factory , and bring in the department of justice on these criminal activities ! please do something soon , this is a matter of life and death !.

Dash components cracked under normal use creating a very dangerous, if not deadly, situation where in the event of air-bag deployment creating projectiles from such deployment that cause egregious bodily harm to the occupants. Dodge knowingly is allowing such conditions to exist.

The contact received a recall letter for NHTSA campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags). The contact was informed that the recall repair could not be performed because a failure had not occurred. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle could not be repaired. The failure mileage was 300,000.

I'm always having issues with the airbag light coming on while driving it goes away then come back when there is a sudden move and causes something to trigger. Also, I'm having issues with my headlight low mode not working I did a lot of research stating that many people are having the same issue and the problems have to do with the fuse box close to the battery. I'm also having an issue with the brake lamp going off on my dashboard not sure what that could be tried so many repairs and nothing seems to work.

"takata recall" vehicle needs reappair and they are filing bankruptcy. I ordered a part already for it but needs to be ecu not sure if its related so I am ordering that part but I am unable to get this done before today, due to needing to get the vehicle to dealer and we live 30 minutes from town in the forest, I can't do a tow to get fixed so I am concerned that because of the bankruptcy, I am going to be stuck with a bill to keep my family safe. I tried to have vehicle fixed before the 12/27 deadline so that tatka can still be responsible for their errors and my family can be safe and others that are in this vehicle.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact received a notice from tk holdings, altering him that the manufacturer filed for bankruptcy. The contact had not experienced a failure. I called the dealership to schedule my recall repair. They told me I did not have any active recalls on my vehicle. After an unpleasant back and forth I was finally able to get a manager or "advisor" on the phone. The advisor determined that I did in fact have an active recall. This error was extremely unprofessional, unacceptable and could have endangered my life and the lives of anyone in my vehicle as the safety risk of the recall is "the loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability during a crash may increase the risk of injury or death. " (NHTSA recall number17v-302). While this instance is the most egregious from a safety perspective, this is not the first time ourisman jcd of alexandra, va has been reckless or negligent with my vehicle and I would like to file a formal complaint. Errors like this could lead to myself or someone else getting seriously injured or worse.

I got a recall letter multiple times. Everytime I try to schedule an appointment with my local dealer they said they dont have the part available. It has been more than 2 years since I owned my vehicle and three dealers said they will call me back when they have the part available. I even tried calling a dealer from a different state because I moved. No success. Recall code r26.

Takata recall , I have called several dealers about 10 time to replace air bag. I get the same answer "waiting on new air bags " so still not replaced , it has been over 6 months. Ant ideas ?.
