Front Air Bag Problems of Dodge Ram 1500 - part 2

Rear ended another truck at approximately 40-50 mph. Neither frontal airbags deployed. All damage was to front of truck. Driver sustained injury to face due to hitting the steering wheel.

On June 4th,2005 my wife had an accident in a 2002 Dodge pickup. On her way to work she was driveing around 45 miles an hour. Until a cat ran in front of her by reflax she tried to aviod the cat so she swerved to the right and struck a mailbox then she swerved to the left trying to gian control of the truck. Then while trying to gian control swerved back to the right going over a ditch and entering private property. Then she struck a pine tree which also struck some power lines. When she crashed into the pine tree the airbags didn't deploy also the seat belt didn't lock ethier. My wife hit the steering wheel with the chest and her elbows. Agter she hit the steering wheel she bounced back tothe set which caused her neck pian and left soulder and her left side of her lower back. Which lead to her damageing her lower back she was also taken to the emergncy room by an ambulance. Then I called Chrysler on June 6th 2005 they asked me for my VIN number of my truck. Then they lied to me about calling, sending a letter,send a fax to the bodyshop where my truck at, and each time I called they always change infomation and they haven't told anything regarding to my truck. 2001 Dodge 1500 quad cab I called the daimler Chrysler in marshall texas and they told me they have seen a few of the dashboards. I explained it was crumbling. He told me it wouldn't hurt anything as the air bags are bolted in he also stated it was out of warranty. I called the main customer 800 service line that TX dealer gave to me and once again I was told it was out of warranty and they didn't care who I contacted after I talked to them as it was out of warranty. I even told them I would call the better business bureau and they still didn't care. The dashboard has cracks running across the entire board. Will it fall? will it cause an accident? I have a 1999 Dodge 1500 with 79,000 miles on it . About 5 years ago my dash started to crack I now have a large hole in my dash and can see the air bag material . I'm thinking this could be dangerous. Dodge won't do anything . I bought this truck new.

Chevrolet avalanche ran stop sign in front of me while I was travelling about 50 mph. I t-boned the avalanche between the front and rear driver's side door, rolling the avalanche onto it's side. Neither the driver, nor passenger, airbags deployed on my Dodge Ram 1500. My ram was totalled due to frame damage. I was blown off by dealership, now waiting for a call back from Chrysler.

We have a 1999 Dodge ram ext cab and the dash cracked and we were told it was not a issue but after reading online I am seeing that several people have had the same issue. I feel that it could be dangerous if the air bag deploys for not only myself but my children.

2001 Dodge 1500 4x4 total dashboard is cracked and big pieces falling out, started at 20,000 miles and would not fix. Have 90,000 know and Dodge can not tell me if it will effect my air-bag deployment on passenger side. Joked to me saying have people ride in the back seat.

The dash in my Dodge Ram 1500 truck began with a hairline crack at about 40,000 miles. I began by taking it to the Dodge dealer, who said the regional service manager would call me. No one ever called back. Since then, the dash as literally fallen apart. The immediate safety issues are (1) the air bag and its ability to deploy, and (2) pieces of the dash flying apart and into occupants in the event of a motor vehicle accident. I have emailed Chrysler; after Chrysler's 2nd reply, no one would respond via email. I have called Chrysler's toll free customer support phone line. I spoke with a very young and adamant young man, who refused to budge on the reply I obtained via email. He eventually terminated the converstation by hanging up on me. Neither party (email or toll free support line) were interested in actually seeing digital photos of the problem. The phone support rep, when told of my safety concerns, simply responded that if I thought it was such a big deal that I should go ahead and replace the dash myself. Some answer! I did stop by the dealer (again) this afternoon and gave me a piece of the dash in the erstwhile hope that the new service manager will begin to work this problem. Please help. I am very frustrated and quite surprised at the total lack of Chrysler customer care. I can afford to replace the dash at my expense (luckily), but am torn because of Chrysler's refusal to "do the right thing" and replace this unsafe defective part. 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, 45 mph direct frontal impact no airbag deployment. I was recently involved in an accident, the vehicle described took a direct blow to the frontal area. I contacted Dodge and reported the failure, 08/20/03 as of 9/16/03 I've gotten no response from them. I am asking if there is any recourse that I can take. My truck was totaled, Dodge took the truck to the dealer for testing, but nothing was said about their findings.

I have a 1999 Dodge ram pickup that has a defective dashboard. Not long after my warranty expired, the dash began cracking. What seemed cosmetic initially has begun to worry me. I am concerned for my safety as well as my children. The dash is in pieces and if you touch it, it gets worse. Will this potentially cause a problem with the airbag and what will Dodge say at that point? the local Dodge dealer will sell me the part but after reading 1000's of online complaints regarding this issue, I am just not ready to buy any other Dodge vehicles or equipment. This is a very costly repair that I believe is also potentially very dangerous. The dash has disintegrated into several pieces and I believe it is due to substandard manufacturing.

While proceeding through a green light at about 25 mph another vehicle traveling at 50 mph ran a red light, causing a head on collision. Consumers vehicle struck other vehicle on front drivers side. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed.
