The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500. While driving at approximately 45 mph, the brakes locked up and the driver rear side brakes also overheated. The failure occurred three times after the initial failure in three weeks. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership to be inspected as the abs control module had burned. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint because the parts needed were not available until July 29, 2010. The current and failure mileages were approximately 120,000. (1) I was descending down a snow covered hill. (2) anti-lock brakes engaged and appeared to lock up the wheels. The anti-lock brakes did not slow the vehicle, nor did they allow me to turn. The abs system did not disengage until about 1 full second after I released the brake completely. I came very close to rolling the truck into a gully. (3) I pulled the abs breaker, and have had no further problems even on the same hill.
