Failure to replace recalled tires. -- made over a half dozen calls to bf goodrich and discount tire. Alvin at goodrich said he was sending me a damage claims package in the mail -- never received. Brought vehicle into discount tire (Nov. 15th, 2016)for inspection and replacement, then sent home. Called back mitch at discount tire (96th ln n. , brooklyn park, mn) and he told me he'd definitely call me back before the end of the day -- he never did. Called mitch the next day and he again said he'd definitely call me back before the end of the day. Again he didn't. Called goodrich tire Nov. 19th,2016 and they said they would check on the delay - joe from goodrich called back and said he got no response from mitch at discount tire. Called danny at discount tire and told I needed to come back in (Monday Nov. 21st) just to measure tread depth, but still not replace (tread depth is still about 9/32 in. (60%+ usable depth)). By Monday I'd come down with an illness so never made it in (not that I should since this was just another "put off" ploy. So what I'm getting from goodrich and discount tire -- stalling -- not calling back -- making needless trips to their shop. These are dangerous delaminating tires -- recall number 12t-019 dot be1ljd114910 lt 245/75r16. Tire blowout (Nov. 1st,2016) damaged the van's right rear quarter panel, wheel well and tailpipe. I was lucky, I've read that delamination of these tires often causes wheel lockup and subsequent vehicle roll-over. So they are endangering my life and others on the road by not replacing these tires.

I was a passenger in a 15 passenger van coming to transport me from the airport. It was a white Ford club wagon (year unknown). We were going at 70 miles per hour on cruise control. The rear tire blew out and we began to swerve and then started to do 360 degree turns and then hit a guardrail and flipped 1. 5 times. One person was killed and several more were injured severely. The front passenger had to have the jaws of life to remove her from the vehicle.

Consumer stated the right rear tire experienced a blowout while driving at freeway speeds, there was some damage to fender of vehicle. 245/75r16, original equipment, mounted on a 1999, Ford e350, 47000 miles. . Consumer stated tires were under recall, goodyear replaced 4 tires, however they did not replaced the tire that failed.
Tire blew up in driveway. The tread layers blew apart and the force split the sidewalls on both sides. I do not dare drive the van until other firestones are replaced. If I had been driving a youth group or my family on the freeway (my normal use of the van), it would have been disastrous. It is a miracle that this tire exploded while not being driven. (tiresize: lt225/75r1).

Tire blew out instantly and without warning while driving on straight and level pavement in good repair with no road hazard or cross wind or any other apparent adverse condition except that the ambient outside air temperature was apprx. 110 degrees , and the road was also very hot. The tire that blew was the outside right rear tire and it's partner-the inside right rear held fine allowing a safe and controlled exit of the roadway. (dual rear wheels. (dot number: vd1l1xd227 tiresize: lt225/75r1).
While traveling on highway driver felt like he had been hit, felt wobbly and pulling. Then, heard an explosion, driver's rear tire blewout. No accident or injuries occurred lt225/75r16, under investigation, tires were original equipment. Firestone steeltex tires.
Driving south on I-25 from albequerque to el paso. Tire blew out & I made a controlled stop. Looking under the rear inside dual wheel I saw the tire was shredded. I exited almost at once to a small town named belen, n. M. This occurred almost noon on a Saturday. I considered myself lucky to find a tire store open in such a small town. I'm almost 75 with a heart condition. No way I was going to attempt to change that tire on a hot interstate alone. Craig tire CO. Explained the recall policy. They replaced the blown tire (in 2 pieces) and placed it in my RV motor home. I paid them $165. 08 and have the receipt. I was lucky to have found a tire dealer on Saturday in the middle of the new mexico desert. I have called Ford, firestone, the RV dealer, the RV manufacturer, the local tv station, even the newspaper. I understand there have been many complaints. Thank god no one was injured or killed. Thence, news of no importance! wrong! I'm retired. Unexpectingly I purchased this vehicle to travel at my leisure. The price of almost $69,000. 00 is not primarily important. Someone selling me something that could have ended my wife's and my lives is my major concern. How many other unexpecting buyers may not be as fortunate? I used to drive a semi; I owned 12 trucks. Good thing I had experience with blowouts. Perhaps the next person won't know how to handle the blowout. Luckily, this was not a front tire, but an inside dual rear tire. I don't want the firestone I have. No one is interested in my problem nor reimbursement. Additiionally, on closer examination I found another tire, same size, on the right rear outside dual has a 2" crack in the sidewall, which I deem unsafe to drive on. I also own a 1998 Ford ranger equipped with firestone wilderness ht tires, p225/70r15 m/s 1005. This vehicle has only 5,281 miles, purchased new. I'm told wildreness ht's are not included in the recall. I would appreciate your clarification. (dot number: vd1l 1xd tiresize: 225/75r16e).

During the past 3 years we have had 5 tires fail on our 24 ft. Motorhome while traveling at 60 mph on the open road. In all 5 cases the belts appeared to seprate from the tire and cause the tread to come off. Three times the tires blew out while going 60 mph. I took the tires to firestone dealers in palm springs and lancaster, CA to be replaced, on each occasion I asked if this was a problem with these tires and was told it was not. In in April 2000 I replaced the 2 front tires with load rate e(all original tires had load d. I was told by the firestone dealer this would help the problem. ) in palm springs after I had a blow out on the front. In August I replaced the other 5 tires with load rate e after having 2 blow outs in one day, both on the rear. . (dot number: vdil 1xb 4 tiresize: lt22575r16).
