Tire Sidewall Problems of Ford E-350

Tl the contact owns a 1998 Ford E-350 equipped with starfire sf-510 tires, size lt245-75-r16 (na). While the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for a state inspection, the sidewall of the rear driver's side tire was found with internal indentations. The mechanic stated that the tire needed to be replaced. The tire was not replaced. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The dot number was unknown. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 130,000.

Sidewall seperated completley on one tire and the tread is seperating from the body if another tire. Both tires are the same make and model. During freeway operation, operator felt a rumble and slowed and pulled over to then notice the sidewall had seperated. He then also noticed the rear. Changed tires to a different brand and contacted cooper the parent company of dean to see if there was a recall. No recall was stated under their company. Four of the tires on the van are under warrenty and they directed me to contact a local distributor to change them. Still have the tires and have yet to change them out.

I purchased a total of 7 michelin ltx m/s tires lt225/75r16 e for my Mini motorhome. They are dry-rotting right off the rims. This is an established problem. When I was directed to a dealer (forrest tire of artesia, nm) I was offered a discount on buying more tires. I was extremely dismayed that michelin was querying the tire dealer about the make, model, year and mileage of my motorhome! what has that got to do with defective/dangerous tires? I spoke with a man who had the same problem with ltx m/s tires that came on his new pickup and they were replaced for mounting and balancing only. I purchased two for the front, but simply can't buy all 7 on social security, then sue michelin. These are lot numbers b3jh fbxx 0905, 0205, and 4204. I can scrape dried rubber off the sidewall with my fingernail! this is dangerous, and I am sitting here afraid to drive on the highway, waiting for something to happen.

Severe cracking of sidewalls of motorhome tires that are only 3 years old. Cracking began in less than one year.

(1) normal tire rotated every 3000 miles run with 55 lbs. Front 85 lbs. Rear checked weekly (2) side wall on both inside and outside dry rotted to point of air pockets are forming on outside of tires. (3) tires replaced with bridgestone v-steel r265 I went to two different goodyear dealers 1st in ormond beach FL the service manager said that is not a problem it is cosmetic! 2nd goodyear dealer in bridgeville PA agreed the tires were bad and a danger to ride on, and offered a sixty-two dollar discount on new tires (with the discount the goodyear store would have been $242. 00 higher, than sam's club for the same tires without a discount) the two dealers were about eight months apart.

Michelin, ltxa/s, p22575/r16 after market 3000, ambulance, right front interior sidewall blewout while driving, causing damage to rim. Manufacturer has been notified, three people were injured.

Was making an emergency transport with a cardiac patient on board, aprox speed @ 70 mph, felt viberation for 5 to 10 seconds, then tread of tire tore from sidewalls and tread flew from under ambulance, came to a slow stop noticed what had actually occured, called for mutual aid to transport cardiac patient on to hospital, took pictures of tread, side walls remaining on rim, slowly drove ambulance back to bp station where attendant changed tire. This is the third set of firestone tires I've had, all on new vehicles, and the third failure of this type (tread separation). I replaced the previous sets at my own expense. I replaced all four rear tires after this recent failure. Upon inspection, a second tire was found to have two bulges in the sidewall. I contacted a local servicing shop who said I could only get an adjustment against another firestone tire. Unacceptable. ( dot number: unk tire size: 22570r16 ).

2 tires blew out with very little tred wear on them. Both times the sidewalls ripped away at sidewall. (tiresize: 16)( dot number: tire size: 16 ).
