The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to come to a stop, the vehicle hesitated to decelerate while the brake pedal was depressed. The abs, the brake, and the traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with abs module failure. The contact stated that the mechanic had replaced the brake master cylinder a year prior. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact was advised that the parts for the repairs were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

2 Antilock/traction Control/electronic Limited Slip Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal extended to the floor, and the vehicle did not immediately stop, causing the braking distance to become extended. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the abs module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not eligible for the manufacturers extended warranty coverage for the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000.
