1 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/12/2020

The front passenger door ajar indicator light stays on even when the door is closed. This keeps the interior lights on and drains the battery and the car will not lock. This creates a safety issue when I have my grandchildren in the car and I cannot lock the car. Also, I work around correctional facilities and it is required that we keep our cars locked. This problem is really stressing me out and I feel Ford should be responsible for this issue. Also, my air bag indicator lights stay on continously which is another safety issue. I'm not sure the airbags would deploy if I were in an accident.

2 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2018 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

Air bag light was on in the car. Seat belt light for driver's seat doesn't always turn on nor does it alarm even when the seat belt in buckled or unbuckled or if the vehicle was stopped or in motion. Took vehicle in for service, initially was told there may have been rodent damage and that wouldn't be covered by warranty but they would check it out. When I returned, I was told empty water bottles under the passenger seat may have moved a wire. Service people stated that the wire may still be dislodged, they didn't check that. Dealership (sheehy Ford in gaithersburg, MD) stated that it was most likely due to water bottles, therefore they didn't check to see if the wire was fully connected or not. I feel my claim was dismissed by the service center and it seems like a safety concern. I am not confident the issue has been fixed. 4 empty water bottles that slide easily under the seat should not dislodge a wire. Additionally, the dealer voided the ticket and didn't submit my claim to warranty. I am still concerned about the safety of my vehicle should I be involved in a crash. They did not address my seat belt concerns for the driver's seat.

21 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/03/2016

My vehicle Ford Edge model 2008, lost control as well as speed when the wrench light came to the dashboard, immediately after the airbag light lit up, I had little or no engine power to engage gear to keep up with traffic speed. My speed dropped to 40 miles or less per hour. Very dangerous situation because at that moment the odometer lighting also went off. Driving on a highway at night no one drives below 40 miles per hour, made the situation pretty grave and dangerous. The problem comes from the power train faulty sensors near the transmission need to be replaced costing over $800,00, as for the airbag I haven't received a invoice yet.

22 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

We tried to push the rubber seal back over it but its no use. I inclosed some pictures of the truck. Can not say when it really happened.

23 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/16/2015

Issue 1: the car continues to say that the door is not closed. I will open and reclose and it still does not clear the read error on the dash. It is the drivers door. I have done research online and this seems to be a common issue. The dome lights stay on until speeds of 12 mph are reached and if backing up it will not turn off. The doors will not lock when inside due to the door ajar. Issue 2: this has been an ongoing issue- the air bag light will come on my car after driving for 20 minutes. This one is concerning to me because no one seems to know why it does it. I have contacted Ford and they say to bring to local dealer. Local dealer tells me it is because I have weight on the passenger seat - this orange light will come on even when I do not have anything on the passenger seat or even when the seat belt on the passenger seat is buckled. I am scared that my airbags do not work when that is lit-- luckily I have not been in an accident yet to find out. But they do not want to figure out the issue without charging me an arm and leg to look into it to diagnose to start.

24 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/29/2014

I was driving down the highway when my speedometer and odometer stopped working. Then it told me I had a error and a fault in my tire pressure system. My airbag light came on, indicating that it was off. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle. When I started it back up all the error messages cleared, but when I went to put my car into drive it sounded as if the transmission had dropped. I tried driving only to rev the engine up to 3000 rpm with barely any movement. When ever shifting from drive or reverse it made that loud popping noise. I took it to a dealership to be told it stopped doing it but they didn't fix it. They made no repairs. They are letting me pick the car up and drive it again with out any actual resolution, but they did charge me money to "look at the car". Do people actually have to die for someone to issue a recall? I am reading thousands of reviews about the Edge that experience's the same problems. Lets issue a recall and develop some accountability!.

25 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/05/2013

I was rear-ended at a pedestrian crosswalk by a teen texting on his smartphone while driving at the speed of about 40mph. The impact caused me to smash into another car in front of me. I wasn't injured because I braced myself for impact looking up through my mirrors. The airbag light came on as if they airbags were about to deploy on the dash board but they simply didn't deploy. When I was driving home the car started shaking as if the airbags might pop out if I hit a bump in the road. The car is now parked and will remain parked until this issue is fully resolved. . No more Ford cars for me!.

26 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/04/2013

Vehicle was taken to power Ford in valencia for standard service a week ago. 41,000 miles new tires bought- was told all was ok. One week later I am driving when suddenly speedometer stops and milegage is reading --- grinding nois then a wrench icon aoppears which means the powertrain is malfunctiong, then the air bag light went on and then an ! icon which means there is a problem with tires. Terrified, I called power Ford and told ot bring it in. . . I was less than a half a mile away, and put on my hazard lights and barely made it th e few clocks to the dealership. This si a haunting problem that I have read at least a dozen comments about the power train. Had I been ion teh freeway I dont think I would be alive. Please investigate this issue with the Ford Edge. I di not know the outcome at all. Thank you.

28 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/18/2008

We purchased our 2007 Ford Edge on April 18th 2008 at that time the air bag light was on. . . The dealer replaced the sensors. On may 2nd we took it back into our local dealership for the light was back on again. They replaced the correct sensor and it made it until October when the light was back on for the third time since we owned the vehicle. This time they replaced another sensor and worked on the sunroof for it was not closing right. In November 2008 the light was back on again and this time wiring was replaced. Three weeks later the air bag light came on again circuits were checked for shorts? then in June 2009 the air bag light was back on and this time flickers on and off. They installed a new rmc, another sensor and the restraint control module. December 3rd we took it back to our service department with the air bag light on for the 7th time now, and the Ford hotline had them checking all crash sensors, the right axel seal was leaking oil as well and the part was ordered to fix. Took the car back on the 16th and they supposedly "fixed" all problems! two days later the air bag light was back on for the 8th time and Ford has had my car since then. It is now January 2010 and they still are working on the air bag issue. . Headquarters has been contacted but doesn't seem to do us any good. The drivers side air bag sensor was replaced and we were told that it finally solved the problem but an hour later we received a call from the service department stating that the air bag light is on for the 9th time now and is currently awaiting another part to be replaced! this to us is a major safety issue that needs some attention!.
