Takata airbag inflator! received a long overdue letter from the Ford motor company to take my vehicle in to a Ford dealer and have the inflator fixed and made an appointment and took it in! was told it would take about 2 hours! a few hours later my vehicle hadn"t been moved and they said they had more important jobs to do and were not sure if they would get to it! I had my son take it in and he was very upset and left! they have been very rude at this dealership before! so it seems that since this was a freebie it wasn't important to them to fix this problem!.

Takata recall. Dealership told me today that Ford is awaiting governmental approval to order replacement defective inflators. When I told them my wife is afraid to ride in the car, the response was to ride in the back seat. Good suggestion, but a bad answer to our safety concerns. When will they get the approvals they need to fix a problem reported over 10 months ago?.

Takata inflators I have been attempting to have this issue resolved for many months, even having appointments with my service department canceled. The reason for this I'm told is that the parts are not available. I am extremely concerned due to the fact that your website and Ford website has sent letters stating that the recall was urgent and should be addressed immediately.

Takata inflators I have a saftey recall for my airbags. I am in the dallas area and I got in contact with all of the Ford dealerships in the dallas area and non of them have the replacement parts. After researching the issue I should not drive with a passenger because if the airbag were to inflate it could send metal fragments flying causing serious injury and death. This is obviously a major concern and due to the fact that I use my vehicle daily for carpool I need to get this taken care of as soon as possible. However the Ford dealerships have said they don't have the parts and they are not sure when they will get them, specifically north central Ford in richardson which is my dealership. This is cause for major concern for me that I cannot get this replaced.

Under the heading what should you do? on this second notice, says "do not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat. The air bag inflator could rupture during deployment in a crash and cause injuries or death. " I often have to drive with five people in the vehicle. Not allowing anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat is not an option and I cannot afford to purchase different vehicle. This notice also says that remedy parts have been delayed. As long as it is taking Ford to remedy this situation, why are they not required to furnish loner vehicles.

I contacted westway Ford in irving texas as my Ford Edge came up as one of the vehicles in the recall of the air bags. I received a notice from tk holdings inc. About takata's claim for bankruptcy. I am driving an unsafe car. Ford has not been able to acquire parts. The car has not been involved in an accident. The notice from tk holdings cite that, "you (or, in the case of a wrongful-death claim, you represent) may have claims against the debtors, including for monetary loss, personal injury, or death (in each case past or future) on account of your current or past ownership of a vehicle contaning a psan inflator regardless of whether such psan inflator is subject to a recall or has all ready been repaired or you have thus far suffered no loss, injury or death on account of your psan inflator. . . " in my case, I am exposed to future injury and am thereby asserting my claim.

I received the notification regarding the defective airbags in June 2016. I contacted the dealership I purchased my vehicle from to find out when they would be able to replace the airbags. They informed me that they have not received the release from Ford for the replacement parts. I received a postcard in the mail (Nov 2017) from t. K. Holdings inc. In regards to chapter 11 for takata airbag inflators. I called my local dealership again to find out when they would be replacing my defective airbags. Again, they gave me the exact same response as I got last year. My concern is that I am driving a vehicle with defective airbags that could cause body injury or worse, death, if I am involved in a horrible accident. I love my vehicle but want this issue resolved. Secondly, how does this affect the resale of my vehicle? who do I need to talk to?.

Takata recall, received notice from takata as the owner of a vehicle with one or more tamara manufactured airbag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitratepropelent. I was advised to contact my dealership immediately to schedule a free repair. Today November 7 2017 I contacted tommie vaughn Ford in houston texas and was told, they do not have the parts to fix it and do not know when they will get the parts.

So I called Ford and they still do not have replacement of the air bag inflator for my vehicle. How long do they have to comply with a recall? The issue is, the dealerships here in shreveport/bossier city louisiana do not have the parts and have been waiting for the replacement parts for more than a year and a half!!! that is completely unacceptable. These airbags were recalled on both my husbands truck and my SUV. The dealership could not give me an estimated time frame for arrival of the replacement parts. Takata recall: I received a legal notice for owners of vehicles with takata airbag inflators on 10/23/2017. I proceeded to enter my VIN number at airbagrecall. Com and was advised that indeed my vehicle had defective airbags and was part of the recall. I then proceeded to contact jim hudson Ford dealership,1201 west main street, lexington, SC at (803) 359-4114 on 10/24/17 at 3:00pm attempting to make an appointment for my vehicle airbags to be replaced at no cost. I was told that the dealership had not received and will not receive replacement airbags, and that they had no further information. I called 1800-327-4236 and could not get a live agent on the phone and the system hung up on me. What do we do to resolve this issue as this is highly dangerous?.

I received a recall notice for my VIN# in March 2017; 17s01/NHTSA recall 17v-024; there was a serious defect with my takata passenger-side airbag system (by takata inflators). The notice states: inflator may rupture in the event of crash necessitating airbag deployment resulting in metal fragments (shrapnel from the dash) striking occupants cuasing serious injury or death. I have grandchildren who ride in my car! my car is absolutely off limits-a death trap, unsafe to drive! I contacted at 13 Ford dealers, each told me there aren't any forthcoming parts, unavailable due to takata's bankruptcy. Ford has repaired some vehicles but not mine and is responsible to take alternate measures to assure me of a safe vehicle! I've spent $32,000 on that "pre-owned" vehicle from a Ford dealership, and another $5,200 in repairs since purchasing and only drove it for 35,000 miles. I regularly maintained & serviced this vehicle. The defects were never detected.

Takata recall with still no remedy available, it's been years! I live where 90% humidity is a regular day. Nhtsa has taken over management of the recalls to make sure replacement inflators get to high-humidity areas along the gulf coast first. When is NHTSA going to get this done?.

They state they do not have the parts to make the repairs. Ford informs drivers to stop driving the vehicles and take car to the Ford dealer for repair of airbag inflator yet dealers are not provided repair parts "yet". One news article stated a loaner car will be provided, but dealer does not provide a loaner car. Safercar video states airbag inflator can be affected by extreme heat. I live in an area that includes extreme hot weather. Video states the older car models are more likely affected. Our model is 9 years old. I transport grandchildren and elderly parents in my car. The recall shows it is for the passenger airbag. Does the driver side of the car not include an airbag also? after waiting patiently for many months, we have tried diligently to get our car recall repaired, without any success. Our dealer referred us to the Ford office in florida for assistance. The rep was not of assistance or sympathetic. The florida call is confirmed by call case no. Cas13975245. We do not have the privilege of leaving our vehicle parked, undriven. We even asked the dealer and the florida office if they will disconnect the entire airbag until parts are received, response = unlawful. Takata recall I still have not been able to get the inflators replaced. I was first notified March 2017. I have called bowen scarff (kent, wa) twice without any remedy - telling me that parts are not available. I have called on November 14, 2017 and again on November 6, 2018. I have been driving this vehicle for nearly 2 years with a faulty airbag - that can injure me or my family. What does it take to have this resolved? why am I not offered a rental car in the interim???? this is my vehicle that I drive.

A recall was made January 10, 2017, but a "remedy not yet available" is still the status on December 6, 2017. Summary: passenger airbag inflator replacement safety risk: the passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash were the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy. This defect report is in response to dirs 17e001, 17e002, 17e003. Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.

Gary smith Ford, ft. Walton beach, FL I got a recall on my Ford Edge, took my car in and asked for an apt several months ago. Stated they could not make an apt. I received a takata airbag inflators notices class action 17-11375 (bls), the airbags have never been fixed, worried if I am ever in an accident what might happen. I called them 1-888-470-3583, also 1-888-814-0714. The air bags need to be fixed because of recall, so far not done. Can't find doc for recall but I took it in months ago, no call from them or apt set up.

Takata inflators I have receved 2 recalls on this I schedule appointment to get it fixed then I get a letter saying parts are not yet available to fix this problem. What should I do !.

Takata recall notice was sent to me on July 2016 by the Ford motor company. This "important safety recall" states that my inflator is likely defective and needs to be replaced. It has now been well over 1yr and Ford has still not contacted me again to initiate repair. My local dealer states they will send out notice once a "solution" is found. I am uncertain what solution is needed besides a new inflator. It feels as if I am driving around a potentially dangerous vehicle due to inaction.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) for the front passenger inflator. The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata inflators this is my second complaint. The first one, made in December 2017, does not show up under the complaints section, which makes it seem like perhaps all of the complaints are not recorded appropriately by the NHTSA! the first notification of the airbag recall was received in July 2016. Each time I have called the dealership since then, I have been told replacement airbags are still unavailable for my 2008 Ford Edge. I see on this site that some owners have received a letter telling them not to use the front passenger seat. That would be completely unacceptable, as the reason we purchased the Ford Edge was so that we would have enough seats to safely transport our family members. There is no way to disable the airbags, according to the vehicle's manual, and I am terrified the airbag will cause death or serious injuries to me, my spouse, one of my children or grandchildren. It is taking a toll on my physical and mental well-being whenever I have to drive my car. I cannot sell my car thru carmax or one of the other sites, because they do not accept vehicles with unaddressed recalls. And it would be morally and ethically wrong to sell a dangerously defective vehicle to another individual without disclosing the airbag defect. And who would want to buy a defective vehicle! so I cannot even purchase a new safe vehicle in which to transport my loved ones!! this airbag recall situation has already taken an unreasonable amount of time to resolve; with no anticipated resolution in the future! does anyone at the NHTSA have any idea when this situation might be resolved? thank you.

Takata recall. Ford says that they will not have a replacement for the inflator for probably a year or more. They informed me that that will not disable and remove the inflator at my request. This is not acceptable as it could kill my wife or someone.
